When She Stops Playing Nice

Chapter 15

Chapter 15

No wonder Gina didn’t react when Olivia provoked Gina with her engagement to Ethan, Gina had already found someone

better.

Neil was surprised. Gabriel knew Gina?

“Uncle Gabriel, who are you going to ask? Do you know Ms. Gena?” Ethan asked, bringing everyone back to the topic.

“Not personally,” Gabriel replied coldly. However, Gabriel knew Anthony Campbell from the International Painting Society. Gena was the president of the International Painting Society and Atnhony’s teacher. Anthony would know about it

“Good. Then you can ask Mr. Campbell, Uncle Gabriel. But before that,” Ethan glared at Gina and continued, “If it’s real, you’ll have to apologize to Olivia on your knees.”

Gabriel’s eyes turned to ice. He spoke sternly, “Have you forgotten what I said?” He had told Ethan to mind his words.

Ethan was startled by Gabriel’s gaze. Gabriel looked like he wanted him dead. Ethan swallowed and pursed his lips.

Sensing the tension, Olivia played the mediator again. “No need. As long as I’m proven innocent, I’m good, even if Cina doesn’t apologize. I know you hate me, Gina, and feel I stole everything that belonged to you. I’m hoping we can patch things up. Gina, I want us to be sisters, for real!”

Some servants who knew nothing started sympathizing with Olivia as she looked pitiful.

“Sure. Leave the Miller family and return everything that belongs to me, Gina responded with a half smile.

Olivia went speechless and could only cry.

Ethan wanted to smack Gina. Gina was disrespecting him by bullying Olivia. But Neil and Gabriel seemed to side with Gina. Ethan didn’t dare act recklessly. “Grandpa, if Gina wrongly accuses Olivia, shouldn’t she apologize?*

Neil looked grave and didn’t speak.

Gina didn’t want to put Neil on the spot. “If this is genuine, I’ll apologize as you say. But that’s impossible.”

“Stubborn bitch, Olivia cursed. She didn’t think Gina would know anything about paintings. She looked forward to seeing Gina apologize.

Ethan rolled his eyes.

Gabriel called Anthony.

Anthony answered. “Mr. Jackson, are you looking to buy some paintings for your father?”

“No. I’ve something to ask you.” Gabriel put the call on speaker so everyone could hear.)

Anthony replied, “Sure. Go on.”

“Did Ms. Cena create any paintings lately? Gabriel asked.

Anthony hesitated. “Honestly, Mr. Jackson, this concerns Ms. Gena’s privacy. I can’t disclose it. After all, Gena was mysterious.

Gina raised a brow. “Tell them, Mr. Campbell. It’s important.”

The voice made Anthony jump. He cleared his throat. “Fine. Since you ask, Mr. Jackson, I’ll tell you. Ms. Gena hadn’t created any new pieces for nearly a year.”

“Got it.” Gabriel hung up and looked at Olivia sharply.

Olivia’s knees went weak. How was that possible?

Neil’s face turned glum. He threw the painting aside.

Alarm bells went off in Olivia’s head. T’m sorry, Mr. Jackson, I didn’t know it was a fake. I was deceived. I wouldn’t have given it to you otherwise. I didn’t expect this,”

Ethan panicked too.

Neil didn’t react much. “Stop crying.”

Olivia’s sobs halted.

“Go back and calm down. Neil told Olivia

Olivia would be seen as a laughingstock if she were driven out halfway through the party. However, Olivia knew she was at fault and couldn’t beg for mercy. She hated Gina to the core. She would remember today’s humiliation.

Before leaving. Olivia said pretentiously, “Mr. Jackson, please don’t be upset because of me. I’m sorry

Neil wasn’t upset. He thought Olivia interrupted his meal with Gina and should simply leave. “Hold on.”

Olivia turned around. her eyes bright. Did Neil change his mind?

“Take this with you.” Neil pointed to the fake painting.

Humiliated, Olivia took it. Ethan sent Olivia out.

Gabriel sat next to Gina. Gina was surprised. Why did he sit so close to her? It felt uncomfortable. However, since this was his home, Gina didn’t comment.

Neil narrowed his eyes. Something was up. Gabriel was hiding something from him.

“Gina, you knew Gabriel?” Neil asked.

“Kinda. We met in school.” Gina had met Gabriel a few times, but Gabriel seemed to know her for a long time. Gina searched her memory but couldn’t recall him. Nevertheless, she felt like she had forgotten something.

“I see. Neil dragged out his words meaningfully. Gabriel secretly had his eye on Gina yet lied to him about not wanting to marry. Neil cleared his throat. “Gina, are you dating?”

Neil was trying to help Gabriel. Hopefully, Gabriel didn’t disappoint him and render his efforts in vain.

Gina replied calmly, “No.”

“That’s good…” Neil realized he was too excited and changed his tune. “I mean, that’s odd. You’re so outstanding. There must be a lot of people pursuing you, right?” Neil was trying to tell Gabriel he had to impress Gina.
