When She Stops Playing Nice by Hale Saxon

Chapter 35

Chapter 35

Gina didn’t know why. She didn’t care either. She remembered that the woman was arrogant and probably hurt Olivia quite badly. Gina found it amusing. Evildoers would indeed make their match.

Ella demanded hysterically. “You must apologize to Olivia and compensate her.

“Tell that to the one who beat her up, Gina replied.

Ella already guessed Jasmine was the daughter of the real state tycoon. They couldn’t afford to provoke the Bush family, so demanding justice from them wasn’t an option. “Olivia ended up like this because of you. You can’t leave without making things right, Ella shouted to Gina

“Oh: What do you want me to do?” Gina smirked. She was curious how low they could go.

“Olivia was going to design the next series of Miller Jewels. Because of you, her right hand is injured and she can’t do it anymore. You must draw the new designs and credit them to Olivia, Ella declared.

Olivia’s eyes lit up. She lowered her head to conceal her smugness.

How ridiculous. Gina snickered. “Dream on.”

Ella was infuriated. “If you don’t, I’ll give your whereabouts to Miss Bush. She won’t let you off. I can’t deal with you but her family can.”

Gina dismissed her threat. “Try it.” The Bush family was nothing. Besides, Jasmine provoked her first.

Seeing Gina’s indifferent demeanor, the veins on Ella’s neck bulged. Her fists were clenched.

Gina looked at Noah impatiently. “Move. Or do you want to end up in the hospital?”

Noah clenched his jaw. He thought of James and Liam and was afraid. Still, he shouted, “If you lay a hand on me, I’ll call the police.”

Ella didn’t want to blow up the matter as Olivia still had to study here. She didn’t want others to look down on Olivia. Ella pushed Noah away and stood before Gina, thinking Gina wouldn’t hurt her. “You ingrate. B i c h. Hit me if you dare. Let everyone see your true colors.”

Gina rolled her eyes. “Seriously, if you have time, go for a checkup…” She paused before continuing, “Especially your eyesight.” How could Ella not see Olivia for who she was?

Ella was enraged. She thought Gina was cursing her. She reached out to strike Gina.

Gina caught her wrist.

Unable to break free, Ella shouted, “Let go.”

When Gina was in the hospital, she was weak and not on guard against her supposed family, and was slapped by Ella. Now they’ve cut ties, Ella was a stranger in her eyes.

Ella tried to kick Gina but Gina dodged. Noah was at a loss. He didn’t want to land himself in the hospital. All he could do was bluster. “Gina, are you insane? Let Mom go.”

Gina’s face darkened. She flung Ella away. Ella grabbed the ashtray from the coffee table, ready to smash it on Gina.

Olivia silently enjoyed the spectacle while Noah glared at Gina.

“I’m going to kill you, b i t c h,” Ella yelled.

Suddenly, a loud smack sounded.

Gina had slapped Ella. Ella was stunned. Her check felt like it was on fire.

Olivia was shocked. Still, she continued acting. “Gina… You hit Mom?”

Noah was dumbfounded but relieved he hadn’t done anything to Gina. If Gina dared to hit their mother, she wouldn’t take mercy on him.

The ashtray fell to the ground. Ella looked at Gina in shock. She covered her face and muttered, “You actually hit me.”

Gina stated calmly, Tm paying you back for hitting me in the hospital.”

Ella pointed at Gina but couldn’t speak.

Gina walked around Ella and left. Noah didn’t stop her.

Jack was standing outside. He had heard the commotion and was worried they would destroy his office. He cleared his throat and lectured, “Miss Miller, you’re a family, after all. Why can’t you talk things out with them?”

Gina frowned. She disliked being lectured by someone uninformed about the situation. With all the things the Miller family had done to her, did they have the right to ask her to be civil? She had already cut ties with them, yet they repeatedly provoked her. Gina retorted, “Mr. Baker, don’t you know you shouldn’t tell others what to do if you weren’t in their shoes?”

Jack was struck speechless. How dare she lecture him? If Gabriel didn’t back her up, he would have dealt with her.

Before leaving, Gina commented, “Mr. Baker, it’s wiser to avoid such favors.” Gina was referring to Jack tricking her so she’d meet the Miller family.

Jack watched Gina’s departing figure grimly, snorting coldly.

Inside the office, Ella sat on the floor, looking a little crazy, muttering repeatedly, “She actually hit me.”

“Mom, calm down.” Noah tried to help Ella up.
