When Love Comes Late

Once in the safety of the bodyguard’s vehicle, her emotions overcame her, and she wept uncontrollably.

She reached for her phone to call Fernando, the only other person besides Lindsay who understood Matthew’s situation.

But before she could dial, her phone rang.

It was Miley.

Hearing her voice, Stella’s grief intensified, and she sobbed even harder.

Miley, unaware of the latest developments, berated Matthew over the phone.

“Stella, Neville and I are back in Seamarsh.

You have to confront Matthew, that jerk! His disappearance had us all on edge, especially you.

You’ve been unable to eat or sleep, even fainting from the stress.

It’s time he learned his lesson.

How are you feeling now? If you’re too frail to deal with him, I’ll handle it for you!”

Miley continued speaking without hearing a response.

Eventually, sensing something amiss, she asked in bewilderment, “Stella, why aren’t you saying anything?”

Stella’s tears flowed freely, overwhelmed by Miley’s concern.

Unable to hold back any longer, she burst into loud sobs.

Startled by Stella’s sudden outburst, Miley panicked and asked anxiously, “Stella, what’s wrong? You’re really scaring me!”

Through her tears, Stella struggled to speak.

Suspecting Matthew was the cause, she ventured, “Is Matthew hurt? Don’t worry, medicine has come so far these days.

Now that he’s back, he can surely be treated—”

Before Miley could finish, Stella interrupted with a sob, “Matthew… he wants a divorce.

Miley was taken aback by Stella’s revelation.

Was Matthew really planning to divorce Stella?

Given his deep affection for Stella, Miley was puzzled by his sudden decision.

Taking a moment to compose herself, she asked, “What happened? Why does he want a divorce so suddenly? Weren’t you two planning a wedding soon?”

Stella continued to cry, managing to say between sobs, “I don’t know.

Hearing the pain in Stella’s voice, Miley responded reassuringly, “Calm down.

Maybe he knows something.
