Chapter CHAPTER 33
went crazy
Chapter 33 Pregnant?
With this incident in mind, I found myself zoning out intermittently throughout the morning.
There seemed to be two little people fighting in my head.
One remarked, “You see, he actually values you, too. He even remembers the day you first met.”
Another chimed in, Torgot him forgetting you graduated from Jacquar University! This date info probably leaked from Ivan or one of his buddies, Quit pining!”
By noon, I pushed those messy thoughts aside and invited Elissa for a chow down at the canteen.
I used to order takeout or go out to eat often, but recently, I didn’t feel like walking much at all. I found the cafeteria food to be fresher, so I always went to the cafeteria to cat.
Perhaps someone brought food to the office area. When I walked in, I suddenly smelled the food and felt a bit nauseous, so I immediately hurried to the restroom.
I vomited everything in my stomach until my mouth tasted bitter, and then I leaned against the wall to stand up straight.
I never thought pregnancy could be so painful.
But when I thought about the little life inside my belly, I felt like I could endure it.
“Did you vomit again?”
I thought everyone would be out for dinner at this time, but as soon as I opened the door and stepped out, I saw Evelyn standing at the sink.
1 felt nervous.
If she knew about my pregnancy, she would definitely treat me even more harshly.
If she had told Christopher about this, I might not have even gotten custody of the child.
I restrained my nervousness and spoke in a calm tone, “I mentioned that I had an upset stomach, which is why I vomited. Are you very bored, standing here listening to my vomit?”
“Are you really just having a stomachache?” she questioned me, her eyes filled with deep suspicion and danger.
“Otherwise?”
“You’d better be,” she said, half believing.
When I finished washing my hands and was about to leave, Evelyn suddenly spoke up again, “Hope, are you pregnant?”
My heart nearly halted, yet I mustered a smile. “If I were pregnant, how could I divorce Christopher and give you a

chance to be together?“?”
She cased up. “That’s true.”
Later, she contemptuously warned me. “You’d better be wise and divorce Chris as soon as possible; stop bothering
Chris.”
“Got it.”
On any regular day, I’d engage in a heated debate with her, but now I didn’t even want to spend another second with her, fearing I might reveal something.
After uttering those two words, I walked away without looking back.
Elissa had already secured a spot in the cafeteria. When I brought lunch over, she immediately noticed my unusual
behavior.
“You don’t look so good!”
Why did it take you so long to notice your keen eyes?”
I chuckled, and the tense emotions eased slightly as I briefly recounted what had just happened.
Elissa raised her lips. “She still cares about whether you are pregnant or not. It seems she doesn’t know that everyone. knows she is the other woman.”
“What? When did everyone find out about this?”
“This morning, everyone knew that Christopher and you came to work together. Many were guessing who Mrs. Valence. is between you and her. Most people believed that you were Mrs. Valence, waiting to mock her.”

She said, examining me closely, “So why did you come to work with him? Tell me the truth quickly.”
I sighed. “He moved to Riverside Garden last night.”
Elissa stared in shock with wide eyes,
Elissa incredulously said, “Did he really repent and then prepare to pursue you again?”
Last night, I could give her a definite answer, but I was also hesitant at the moment.
I found Christopher’s thoughts increasingly inscrutable.
Elissa shook her head repeatedly and despairingly said, “Oh my god, then you definitely won’t be able to resist him. As soon as he takes action again, you’ll be consumed by lovesickness.”
“He won’t.”
I smiled bitterly. “Don’t worry, Evelyn wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen either.”

“It all depends on Christopher’s thoughts. Although Christopher appears gentle, he is actually ruthless and decisive. If he wanted to get rid of Evelyn, he could do it in an instant.”
“He wouldn’t do that even more.”
Unless he knew the truth about his mother’s death, but before that, he would find it difficult to change his attitude to Evelyn.
Speaking of which, I also couldn’t understand why Bentley didn’t tell Christopher about this. I felt like I needed to go back to Valence Manor later and ask him..
When we were almost done with dinner, I brought up something important. “By the way, Elissa, did you manage to get the concert tickets?”
Elissa had more connections in the Valence Group than I did.
When the concert plans were finalized, I asked her to help me get the tickets.
Elissa pointed to the ceiling and complained. “I don’t know what’s going on. This time, only the employees from the CEO’s office have tickets, and each person only has one, so there are no extras.”
“Are tickets only available to employees of the CEO’s Office?”
“Yeah, if you really want tickets, you can ask Christopher for them while he’s trying to make you happy. No matter how many tickets you want, he will definitely give you.”
“Forget it.” It was best to keep the line between Christopher and me as clear as possible.
However, this was just my unilateral idea,
I just got back to the office, and Christopher called me.
“Are you free on Saturday night to go to a concert with me?”
“Do you have any extra tickets?”
I didn’t actively ask him for the tickets, but he took the initiative to ask me, so of course, I had to fight for Connie.
“Yes.
“Can I go upstairs to get two tickets?” Connie would definitely find a friend to go with her, so I’d better get two tickets.
“I will have Donald deliver the tickets to you.”
“Okay.”
“And what about you?”
“What?”

“I have answered two questions for you, and you haven’t answered a single question for me yet,” he said in a low voice.
After all, I took his ticket, so I replied lowly, I’m available.”

Now, I was with him at this concert, which could be considered a solemn farewell.”
I can end my eight–year relationship in a good and dignified manner.
Christopher and I moved back in together, but our relationship didn’t feel as comfortable as it used to be.
After all, reconciliation was not a simple matter.
Fortunately, Christopher was busy with work, often leaving early and returning late.
When he left, I was still asleep, and when he came back, I had already gone to bed.
That night, when I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I heard the doorbell ring constantly.
Through the peephole, I saw Donald outside the door, struggling a bit as he supported the tall and imposing Christopher.
Christopher’s eyes drooped slightly, his gaze somewhat unfocused, yet his cheekbones remained sharply defined, making him appear even mo
unapproachable than when he was sober.
He got drunk, so he revealed his true colors?”
“Is he drunk?”
“No, Mr. Valence said you seemed to dislike alcohol recently, so he has been drinking less.”
Donald was a friendly person, but at that moment, his face looked a bit displeased. “Today, he just went through the motions with a drink, and ended up inadvertently falling into someone else’s scheme. It was my carelessness.”
“Who would resort to such despicable means? I frowned.
In the business world, there were many such despicable tactics, but Christopher, with his prominent status, was not someone the average person dared to use such means against.
“Just…
Donald had just started speaking when Christopher looked up and interrupted him with a hoarse voice, his tone a warning that brooked no argument. “Donald.”
He didn’t want me to know.
I didn’t press further. I helped Donald to the sofa, and even through his clothes, I could feel that his body temperature was very high. I was startled.

“Why didn’t you take him to the hospital?”
Donald touched his nose. “Mr. Valence was afraid of falling into the trap again, so he had to come back to find you.”
Me?
Im going to be his ex–wife. Why would he come to me?
I was distressed. “Did you contact the family doctor?”
Donald, “No. Dr. Anderson is out of the country this week, and Mr. Valence doesn’t really trust other doctors.”
“Mrs. Valence, I have handed Mr. Valence over to you.“
Donald left behind a meaningful sentence, but before I could respond, he ran away.
