Chapter 25 Have Edward be Ruby's Dad
When Kendra heard what she said, she was about to knock the phone out of Susan's hand, but it was already too late.
Susan stared at Kendra determinedly, "What do you think about this solution, are you satisfied?"
"You!"
Kendra clenched her fists furiously, she could neither leave nor stay.
She took a deep breath, then stood up straight and looked at Susan, "You don't need to scare me with this, let me tell you, I don't think it was wrong what I did back then!"
"Right, you haven't done anything wrong, so when Jarvis is here, we should tell him the truth, so he will stop to run after me!"
Because Edward's company was not far from the hospital, it didn't take long before the security guards have surrounded the whole hospital.
Even Jarvis arrived earlier than expected.
When Jarvis came, Susan and Kendra were still fighting, and the fight was getting more and more heated.
Kendra was discussing with Susan why she wasn't a good fit to marry into her family.
"What have you done to Jarvis, you know best!"
"Don't think I will be afraid of you just because you called Jarvis over to explain everything to him!"
Susan didn't say a single word, she saw Jarvis from afar as he was coming, her gaze was determined as she walked towards him.
Jarvis didn't look good, he stared at Kendra and said very coldly, "Mom, what are you doing here?"
"You heard what your mother said right? Let me tell you, a few years ago, when you left, I tried everything to find you. But your mother used my data from my research to kick me out of the medical world." "And, I do not want to marry you at all right now, you and your mother need to leave me alone!"
As she said that, Susan turned and walked outside.
But, her words have shocked Jarvis.
He stared at Kendra, frowning, and after what seemed to be a very long time, he asked, "Is what Susan just said right?"
He knew Susan, he knew that Susan had the qualifications to be a doctor, it had always been her dream, everything she did was for her own mother!
If someone ruined her career, that meant that they ruined Susan.
Kendra didn't look even a little bit guilty, "So what if it is true? So what? She was the one who was wrong, she was ill-disposed!"
Susan heard that, but she didn't turn back again.
She went outside, and led the security guards from Edward's company and asked them to go back, then she quickly called Tina to ask for Bronson's number. She called him and asked where he was, then she went over to pick up Ruby.
Susan took Ruby back to the hospital, and sign her dismissal papers, then, she took Ruby back home.
She didn't know what happened between Jarvis and Kendra, what Jarvis would find out, but that didn't matter to her anymore.
Susan never wanted to expose the truth, but it didn't matter, now she was fully at ease with it.
When she got home and arranged everything for Ruby, she received a call from Jarvis.
Susan hesitated, she didn't want to take the call.
But Jarvis would keep calling her until she did, so she had no other way.
She took her phone, hesitated for a little, then picked the call.
"Yeah?"
"I want to talk to you."
"About what?"
Susan was very calm.
"I am sorry."
She didn't expect him to apologize to her after she said those words.
"I apologize on behalf of my mother for her behavior, but I still want to see you, I want you to give me a chance."
Susan held on to her phone tight, after a while, she said, "I don't think that's necessary."
Then, she hung up the phone.
Ruby came towards Susan, and reached out to hand Susan a yogurt, then she said, "Mom, have a yogurt!"
Susan looked down, and picked Ruby up, she gave Ruby back the yogurt and smiled softly, "You should have it, I don't want any yet." "Mom, you'll feel better."
Ruby blinked with her big eyes, and told Susan.
Susan suddenly laughed, she felt her heart melt.
She kissed Ruby on the cheek, and sat down with Ruby for a while.
She didn't know who the man was, and she was pushed in a corner by Kendra. Susan had thought about abortion, but she was reluctant to do it. Other children cried when they were born, but Ruby came into this world smiling.
Not only the nurses in the birth ward were joyful to see her, even Susan thought it was worth having this baby.
Ruby was always a good kid, she never cried for no reason, and was so sweet, Susan felt as if Ruby was an angel from heaven, sent to save her.
Susan was still playing with Ruby, when she received another call.
She took the phone, and picked up. It was Tina, who was excited, "Hey, how is the guy I introduced to you?"
"Stop that, please don't do that again, I thank you very much."
Susan declined.
Tina felt that it was very unfortunate, "Dr. Jones is a good person, you can't compare him to either Edward or Jarvis, but at least he doesn't have a complicated background."
That was true.
But that left Susan a little helpless, she didn't know how to reply to that.
Then she sighed, "But I am a very complicated person, I don't deserve him. Please don't ever put me on blind dates again."
"Oh by the way!"
Suddenly, Tina remembered something, and said to Susan, "You know you should think about Edward being Ruby's dad, then you don't have to get divorced anymore."
"What!"
Good that Susan wasn't drinking water, "I don't think so, I can't even keep my position as Mrs. Ford."
"Do you have something else? If not, I'll hang up."
Susan was about to hang up, but then Tina said something else.
"By the way, I called to tell you something serious."
"What is it?"
Susan asked.
"It is Children's Day in three days, Ruby has a performance, I won't be able to make it, but you have to attend."
"Okay, I know."
Susan replied, and then hung up this time.
But, not long after she hung up the phone, Edward sent her a message, which scared her so much that she almost dropped her phone.
Edward sent three pictures, one was when Bronson went to see her for the blind date, one was when Kendra came to fight with her, and another one was when Jarvis arrived to fight with Kendra.
