When His Eyes Opened (full chapter)

Chapter 3174

Hazel’s eyes were red. She said, “Brother, Lucas’s mother passed away. I can’t play with you these days. It’s gone.”
Hayden: “It’s okay. Something like this happened at his house, and we are not in the mood to play. After attending his mother’s
funeral, your sister-in-law and I will go back.”
Hazel nodded.
“How are funerals done here?” Hayden asked.
Hayden was Hazel’s eldest brother, and Lucas was Hazel’s boyfriend, and he was the same age as Hazel. Hayden felt that he
had an obligation to help Lucas’s mother handle the funeral.
Hazel: “It’s almost the same as in Aryadelle. Rich people can have a very grand ceremony; people with little money can just do it
casually; and poorer people don’t need to have a ceremony and just find a place to bury them.”
Hayden: “What should I do if I want to make the funeral more grand?”
Hazel: “Brother, do you want to help his mother with the funeral? He has no relatives, so he doesn’t need to make it grand.”
Hayden: “Oh. Then you go and discuss it with him. Let’s wait and see what to do. I’ll help if I can!”
Hazel: “Thank you, brother. But I don’t think he needs your help in this matter. It doesn’t cost much to hold a funeral, so he
probably won’t be willing to accept our money. His mother’s funeral will cost money.”
Hayden: “Okay! Then you go and accompany him!”
Hazel: “Brother, then you and your sister-in-law...”
“You don’t have to worry about us. I’ll be there with your sister-in-law. Take a walk outside; call me if anything happens.” Hayden
said.
“Okay, brother.”
Hazel returned to the ward.
Hayden and Joanna left the hospital building.

Mr. Hogan was standing downstairs in the hospital building. When he saw Hayden and Joanna coming out, he immediately
greeted them with a smile.
“Mr. Tate, my son has a deep misunderstanding of me, and even Hazel doesn’t like me. In fact, I am really good to Hazel.” Mr.
Hogan said honestly, “Hazel has been in our house for a long time. She started working. At that time, her mother-in-law was
working as a handyman in our kitchen. Our family was really good with the servants. Her mother-in-law had been working in our
family for several years. Hazel would come to our house every day when she came back from school. She had a very ugly scar
on her face when she was young, but our family never disliked her.”
Hayden softened a little after hearing what Mr. Hogan said.
If what Mr. Hogan said is true, then the Hogan family’s sin is not unforgivable.
At least they gave Hazel a way to survive.
When Mr. Hogan saw that Hayden hadn’t left, he didn’t change his face and continued: “After Hazel’s mother-in-law passed
away, Hazel immediately had no source of income. Our family felt that Hazel was pitiful, so we let Hazel continue to work in our
house. Every day she has been paid on time every month and has never been in arrears with her wages.”
Hayden: “I know these things. The problem now is that Lucas doesn’t associate with you, not that Hazel has a grudge against
you.”
Mr. Hogan said, “I know. I do owe Lucas a lot. I was absent from his life when he was a child. I took him back to me when he was
about to enter college. But after I took him back to my side, I almost ignored him. I spent millions to support him when he went to
college, so I’m not mean to him!”
Hayden: “It’s better if you tell him these words.”
Mr. Hogan looked embarrassed and said, “He doesn’t listen to me. No matter what I do, he is not satisfied. But I am always his
father, and I can’t completely ignore him. I wonder if I can talk to you about him and Hazel?”
