What Separates Me and You

Chapter 89

Chapter 89 He Arrived Too Late!

Avery stared at Josephine's hand in a daze for a long time, unable to make sense of what she had just signed.

"W-what did you s-say?" Avery robotically raised her head and looked at Josephine's eyes. She almost thought she was hallucinating.

Josephine signed again, "Let's leave this place and not go back anymore."

"Are you being serious?"

Avery could never talk her into it in the past. Josephine had always refused to leave with her every time. After some time, Avery thought she would never want to leave. At that moment, when Josephine brought it up herself, Avery got nervous instead.

Josephine nodded seriously. She had already thought it through. They certainly could not go back anymore.

She had no idea how to face Lewis if she were to return. She also was not capable of convincing him to let Avery go.

Josephine had not even left the last time, yet he did those things to Avery. This time, Avery had brought her out, and they had gone missing for a few days. Josephine didn't even dare to think of what might happen.

Avery fell silent for a long time before she grabbed Josephine's hands and looked straight at her. It seemed like she was making a decision.

After a while, Avery said, "Alright! Let's leave."

Avery scratched her head and removed all the unsightly mess from her body. Then, she got out of the car and went straight to the driver's seat. She was stunned for a moment when she saw the car key was still in the ignition. Could it be that the car was purposely prepared for her?

Josephine also got into the front passenger seat. When she saw Avery spacing out while staring at the car key, she could not help but be confused as well.

Avery raised her head and glanced at her. "Josie, why do I feel like something's not right?"

Josephine looked at her in confusion and waited for her to elaborate.

Avery pointed at the car key. "Look. The key is still here. What kind of kidnapper would be so kind that he would release us unharmed after kidnapping us? Also, did he leave this car for us to go back or to leave?"

Josephine was lost in thought upon hearing that.

In fact, it had nothing to do with the car. Whether they were to leave or go back, things would not end well for them.

Josephine hesitated before signing, "What do you think, Avery?"

Avery sighed, her brow tightly furrowed. "I don't know."

The last time she wanted to take Josephine away, Lewis almost destroyed her family. This time, however, she took the risk and brought Josephine out. It seemed like she no longer had a reason to go back anymore.

If she did not return, Lewis probably would not do anything to the Greens out of respect for Tyler. It was only if she returned that she might bring trouble to them.

Thinking of that, Avery's gaze became firm. She said, "Let's leave.'

Josephine signed, "Drop me off at the train station. Let's leave separately."

"Why are we leaving separately?" Avery couldn't understand.

Josephine smiled and signed, "Let's meet up somewhere. This way, if we were caught, both of us would not be captured at the same time."

"But no matter which of us got caught, it's impossible for the other to escape alone, right?" Avery looked at her suspiciously.

Josephine signed, "I would be fine if Lewis caught me. What I'm afraid of is him catching you.”

Avery frowned. She seemed to think it made sense as well.

Josephine maintained her smile and looked at her with great sincerity.

After hesitating a little, Avery said, "Alright."

She certainly had to leave this place because she could no longer go back. She knew from the moment she decided to save Josephine that she could no longer stay in Elysium. Josephine secretly sighed with relief. Her hands, which were hidden in her sleeves, were

covered in sweat.

She turned her head to the side a little and looked at Avery's profile with a complicated expression. The windows were rolled down, so the wind messed up Avery's short hair. The look in Josephine's eyes showed that she was reluctant to part with her.

Avery was still thinking about where they should meet up, so she didn't notice Josephine's

gaze.

Soon, Avery got Josephine to the train station.

The train station was packed, and people were walking around every corner. Avery felt relieved when she saw that there were so many people. Finding Josephine in this throng of people

would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, so Avery was confident Lewis wouldn't be able to find her.

"See you in Hampden, Josie. Be careful when taking the train. You have to call me if anything happens, got it?”

Josephine nodded and signed, "Alright. You too. Drive safe."

"Mhmm. I'm going to leave now." Avery did not dare to stay for too long. She was afraid that Lewis would find her if she delayed any further.

After all, she would only truly be safe after she got off the highway.

Josephine stood in the same spot and watched Avery's car drive off into the distance.

She didn't plan to leave. Seth wanted to frame Avery and make everybody think it was Avery who had taken her away.

If she had truly left with Avery, she would have played into Seth's hand. The consequences would be unimaginable if they were caught.

It would be fine as long as Avery left. She couldn't let Avery be captured by Lewis. Once Lewis found her, he would not go looking for Avery anymore.

She just had no idea if she still had the chance to meet Avery anymore.

Josephine stood at the platform quietly as the people around her were coming and going. The cold wind was blowing back and forth on the platform, and it started to drizzle. The fine and dense drizzle drops then enveloped the passersby like a mist.

Everybody was in a rush, while Josephine was the only one standing in the same spot without moving.

After standing for some time, Josephine took out her phone and bought a ticket online.

She did not have her ID, so even if she had bought a ticket, she could not board the train either.

Josephine sat in the waiting room outside and listened to the train announcements that were playing without stopping.

At the other end, when Conrad and his men found the place, nobody was there. They saw through the surveillance that Josephine had appeared on the first floor, then she went back in.

However, nobody was there anymore. He arrived too late!

Just when Conrad was about to fly into a rage, he received another call-Josephine bought a

ticket.

Josephine sat in the waiting room for more than two hours. It was starting to get very late, so the waiting room gradually became less crowded.

People in her surroundings kept changing, and she was the only one still sitting there.

Suddenly, a shadow was cast by something overhead. Josephine was dazed for a moment, then she slowly raised her head. She saw Conrad standing in front of her.

"Madam, come back with us."

Conrad was still panting. He had come running because he was afraid Josephine would have left on a train if he arrived too late. It would be even harder to find her if she had left Elysium. Josephine pursed her lips. She stood up and nodded.

Seeing that she agreed, Conrad let out a sigh of relief. However, he could not help but remind her, "President Alvarez is outside."

Josephine was slightly stunned, then she turned to look at Conrad.

Conrad signaled with his gaze that she should behave herself.

Josephine reflexively curled her fingers up tightly. She pursed her lips tightly, calmed her nerves, and turned to walk out of the station.

She arrived at the parking lot outside of the train station. At that moment, the rain had already stopped, but there were still puddles on the ground. She stepped on the wet ground and walked toward the most striking car-the Maybach.

Josephine got to the door and stood there quietly.

The car window slowly rolled down, showing Lewis's handsome face with clearly defined features. He turned his head and looked at her with a cold gaze.

The lights in the parking lot were dim, and Lewis's features were hidden in the dark, so Josephine could not see his expression clearly. She curled her fingers up so tightly that she was in pain because her nails dug into her palms.

Conrad arrived as well, and he reminded Josephine, "Madam, you should get in the car."
