Chapter 366 Kneel Down
The crowd's murmurs gradually died down as everyone turned their attention toward the person who spoke.
A path opened up in the middle, revealing the figure of the speaker. Donning a black windbreaker, he stood tall among the crowd.
The aura he emanated was too strong, and nobody dared to take him lightly.
"Who are you?"
Lewis strode out from the crowd with his long legs. The onlookers fell silent as they observed him, seemingly wanting to know his identity. Upon seeing him, Quintin couldn't help but frown.
He must be here to chase after Josephine. While Quintin was relieved that Lewis had arrived, he felt embarrassed at the same time by his current situation. "Lewis, these two little brats snatched Josephine's toys and caused her to fall. This man even slandered us as human traffickers. Look, they even hit her!"
Imitating the way the two children had accused them, Quintin began to complain. Perhaps because he had been hanging out with Josephine recently, he didn't feel ashamed to tattle.
Lewis glanced at Quintin without bothering to hide the disdain in his eyes.
Right after Quintin spoke, someone in the crowd recognized Lewis.
"Oh my, he's Lewis Alvarez!"
"Which Lewis Alvarez? Could he be...?"
"Yes, he's Lewis Alvarez from the Alvarez family. Wasn't he in the news with that celebrity before? It caused quite a stir."
As this information spread, more and more people recognized him.
Many of the visitors here were from Elysium, and considering the fact that they were able to come here, they must have a certain level of wealth. So it wasn't surprising that they knew about Lewis. Some recognized his name, while others knew him from the news. Regardless of how they knew him, they all understood that he held a significant status.
Upon hearing the chatters, the three brothers exchanged glances, feeling somewhat uneasy.
Were they really that unlucky? It couldn't be a coincidence.
Lewis ignored the comments and gazes of the people around him. He approached Jospehine and looked down at her.
Her face was still swollen, and she looked disheveled as she lay on the ground. She looked up at Lewis with teary eyes and a very aggrieved expression.
Lewis reached out his slender hand toward her. "Get up."
Josephine stared at his attractive hand for a while, then glanced back at Quintin, who was still being held down on the ground. She hesitated briefly before extending her hand and placing it in Lewis' palm. He held her hand and lifted her up from the ground.
He assessed her condition. Due to the rain, her pajamas were dirty, and her face was swollen.
Lewis' expression darkened when he saw her in this state.
He turned to the three men and asked, "So you're saying she's a human trafficker?"
The men realized the situation and quickly let go of Quintin. They stood together as if in a military formation.
"Well, it might be a misunderstanding." The man forced an awkward smile. "They made both my kids cry, so I thought they were human traffickers. Who knows..."
As Lewis' expression grew colder, the man's voice softened. "Who knows why these two adults decided to pick on young children?"
Quintin corrected him, "Please get the facts straight. I've already explained that your kids took our toys first and ended up falling while running. And what did you do? You slapped my wife in front of so many people. Don't even think about trying to make excuses!"
"I ..." The man's heart was in a state of panic. He had just remembered who Lewis was and realized he had offended someone he couldn't afford to offend.
Lewis' face grew even darker when he heard Quintin refer to Josephine as his wife.
The man thought Lewis was angry at him, so he shrunk back in fear.
Lewis spoke, "So, how do you plan to resolve this matter?"
The man's face turned pale. He thought it over carefully before grabbing his son and asking sternly, "You two, spill the truth. What exactly happened? If you dare lie, I'll punish you real good!"
The kids didn't understand the situation and only feared getting punished. They stubbornly refused to admit that they had taken Josephine's toys.
The chubby child pointed at Josephine and said, "She took my things and pushed me. They're the ones who bullied me first!"
The other child chimed in agreement, "Yes, yes, she bullied us. And besides, she's so much bigger than us. How could we have taken the toys from her?"
Some children often took advantage of their age to lie, as most people believed children were innocent and wouldn't lie.
Hearing this, Josephine opened her mouth and wanted to speak, but no words came out.
She stood beside Lewis, shaking her head and gesturing to the drum in her hand, desperately trying to prove the toy was hers.
The man said, "You all heard it. She bullied my sons first. Mr. Alvarez, just because you have money doesn't mean you can bully people without reason, right?"
This man was indeed a businessman. He had a knack for stirring up resentment.
Previously, he accused Josephine and Quintin of being human traffickers while attacking them. After Lewis appeared, he tried to claim the moral high ground and incite the surrounding people's resentment toward the wealthy.
Hearing this, Lewis chuckled. Yet he didn't seem amused at all.
He calmly looked at the man and said, "Since you put it that way, I see no need for reasoning."
The man froze momentarily, his gaze wary as he stared at Lewis. "What are you trying to do?"
Lewis tilted his head slightly, glancing at Conrad.
Conrad immediately took the cue and swiftly stepped forward before grabbing one of the man's kids.
The man became terrified. "Don't you dare do anything! Let go of my son!"
Lewis said, "Didn't you say we don't reason and always bully people at will? Of course, we must live up to the title you labeled us."
The man became frantic and rushed forward to get his son, but Conrad kicked him away before he could get close.
The man landed heavily on the ground, and as he looked up, he saw Conrad raise his hand and slap his chubby son.
Conrad asked the chubby child, "Did she bully you?"
After getting slapped, the chubby child burst into tears. He kept wailing and couldn't answer Conrad's question. The sound of his cries was deafening.
Conrad raised his hand again and said, "Shut up!"
Too afraid to continue crying, the chubby child immediately closed his mouth, but tears continued to stream down his face.
Conrad asked again, "Tell everyone, did she bully you?"
The chubby child stared at Conrad's hand warily and shook his head vigorously.
The man on the ground could no longer hold back and angrily spoke, "He's just a child! It's too much to force him to confess like this! Have you really lost all sense of justice?"
A hint of amusement appeared in Lewis' eyes as he raised an eyebrow. "Compared to your accusations that they're human traffickers, I think this slap is nothing."
"You!" Veins bulged on the man's forehead as he clenched his fists, cracking his fingers. "What do you want?"
"Kneel down and apologize to her."
