"So what are we going to order? " Mariana asked Jack who was going through his red file. 

"Am going to have chicken quesadilla, beef tacos, kebab with juice" Jack said without moving his eyes from his file. 

Mariana shook her head and chuckled "Jack are you sure you will finish all the food? "

"Yes am a man" Jack said proudly hitting his chest Mariana chuckled and called the waiter in a few minutes the waiter came back with a tray of food "thank you" Mariana said to the waiter he nodded and left. 

Mariana looked at Jack and noticed he has been going through his file since they reached the restaurant. Mariana took a bite of her beef tacos and put it down "Jack what's up with that file"

"Nothing just looking at something"

"Is it that important that you had to come with the file here? "

"Well yes I was just going through it before I hand it over to you"

"So what is it all about? "

"It's a business deal"

"Well... " Mariana said for Jack to give her more update on the information . 

"Your father called me yesterday and gave me this file and he said you should get this deal done" Jack said without moving his eyes from the file. 

"So why didn't you just tell me and give the file to me"

"Well like I said I wanted to make sure everything was okay and to top it up I think it is" Mariana rolled her eyes at Jack and he only chuckled. " Cmon Jack tell me what's happening" Mariana demanded. 

Jack sighed and looked at Mariana "well okay you have a business trip to Miami Florida and you need to make sure you get the deal done no matter what" Mariana cocked her eyes at him "And why is that? " 

"Well how would I know that but it will surely benefit our company" Jack said with a smile on his face. 

Jack flipped the pages and went back to the first as he started talking "Alexandra Blake CEO of Dale company it is the largest company in Miami, it made 65% profit last year and this year the company made 85% profit. Wow cool right? "

"So how is that going to benefit me? " Mariana asked. 

Jack looked at Mariana as though she asked a dump question 'can a CEO ever be this dumb' Jack only shook his head to that thought. "Mariana it won't benefit you but the company yes we might be in the top right now but with Alexandra as our partner it would be good, you know what I mean so your job is to make Alexandra our business partner"

Mariana sighed and looked at Jack "So when do we leave? "

"On Friday at  9am exactly"

"And for how long are we going to stay there? "

"We will be there for only three days"

"Wow" That was the only thing Mariana could say. 

MAriana and Jack ate and chatted at the restaurant they spend a few hours their and by the time they where back at the office it was late in the afternoon. 

They continued working as they were now boosted and their energy was back still talking about the bussiness deal it was not like she was against it but the problem was her father got involved and he was the one who wanted the deal to be done with the most. Still talking about her father Mariana's phone started ringi she got her phone and saw who called she sighed and faced the screen to Jack so he could also see who called. 

"Talk about the Bally and the Bally calls" Mariana said with a laugh. 

(Zambian teens usually use Bally when calling an old man it might be your uncle, grandfather or father but they mostly use it for father without them knowing. Lol)  

"Answer the phone" Jack said with impatience in his voice Mariana sighed and answered " Hey father how are you? "

"Am fine Mariana and you? " Her father said from the other side of the phone. 

"Am fine father may I know why you called? " 

"Do I need to have a reason to call my own daughter? "

"No it's just so rare for you to call me am not used to expecting your call" Mariana said matters of fact. 

"Well then I won't waste much of your time Mariana I called because I want you to come home I need to talk to you"

"Is it that important that you can't say on the phone? " Mariana said with a little annoyance in her voice. 

"Well actually no but your mother also wants to see you"

"Okay I will come through when am done with work" 

"Okay I will be looking forward to your arrival" The man said from the phone and Mariana knew he was smiling she cut the call and looked up only to see Jack looking at her. 

"Why do you hate your Bally so much? " 

"Who said I hate him he just gets on my nerves"

"Mariana you still have not forgotten about that I thought you already forgave him by now and it was all in the past"

"Jack that man will never change he only loves himself and no else besides he is not even my father so why should I bother myself putting up his nonsense I have no time for that" Mariana sighed and layed her back against the chair. 

Jack moved the files aside and sat on the table "Mariana you are forgetting he took care of you and was there for you when you needed it the most"

"Well I thought the same at first but he did it for his selfish gains I knew that man was not right for my mother the first time I met him I wonder when my mother will realize it and stop this crap called love"  

"Well l don't know what to say now " Jack said raising his hands in the air in surrender . 

"Jack you don't have to say a thing am tired let's go and have a drink am done for the day"

"Are you not supposed to go home and meet your dad? " Jack asked in shock. 

"I will let's get a drink first".

Mariana and Jack went out of the office and went elsewhere to have fun.
