We'll End Up In Hell Boys

Chapter 29

Dom was dead. Belmira was trying to calm Oliver down while Valentina was talking with her husband to soothe him. Wayne went nuts after he shot Dom, and not because he regretted it. I believed that it was because he killed before and relived the scene; thus, he remembered the feeling of spoiling his hands with blood. We felt helpless, so we waited for them outside, in their yard. “What just happened?” Roy asked after a few minutes of silence. His question made me cringe at the sight of blood; it was shocking.

“We just saw a murder, and the thing that scares me the most is my lack of empathy for that scumbag. I don’t root for taking lives, but I know for sure that Dom was just an extra body on this planet,” Ismarelda replied, and we all agreed.

As conflicting as the situation was, I was relieved that a rapist-murderer died. “Are you okay?” Dorian whispered.

“Yes, it’s just… I feel like I am in a dream, and I so want to wake up from it.” I sighed and looked at the sky.

“I get you, it’s unbelievable what just happened, but we couldn’t do anything because deep down, we know that he deserved it.”

Before I could reply to Dorian, Wayne walked outside with Valentina by his side. “I am sorry, everyone, but it had to be done. I am sinful myself; still, I can’t ignore their brutality. I will put an end to it now. Jino, can you call your leader and tell him to come here as fast as possible?” Wayne asked.

“Of course, give me a second.”

“I will send out a notice to my gang members to gather here in half an hour. This bullshit will end today for sure. You have my word!” Wayne held his phone and typed while Jino talked with the leader.

“Can I borrow your bathroom for a bit?” Dylla asked Valentina, and she showed her the way. We were still waiting in silence outside for everyone to come until a fancy black car pulled over. A huge dark-skinned man got out of it and walked toward Jino. His appearance screamed authority and charisma, which was a bit intimidating.

“Wayne, this is my leader, Pedro Moreno.” Jino introduced him and gave him a seat.

“So, you are the No La Vida leader,” Pedro stated and crossed his arms. “What business do you have with me? You ought to know that I detest people like you.”

“Allow me to explain. What happened during my position as a leader is my fault, yet not entirely mine when things get plotted without my knowledge….” Wayne explained what occurred behind his back, and he even told him my story. Pedro did not utter a word until the gang members came. “Line up!” Wayne demanded, and each one of them obeyed. “I am aware now that Dom was controlling your actions behind my back, but he’s dead now. Before you ask how he died, I killed him. If you don’t want to end up in a dumpster in the most gruesome form, tell me how many people are after this girl, Divana Hensler, and where can I find them.”

Not a minute later, a man stepped forward with his head low. “We are sorry we didn’t listen to you before, but Dom extorted each one of us. Now that he is dead, we are free from his grip. For the men who are searching for Hensler, they are about a dozen, and they stay in an abandoned building. It’s the same building that Dom used to do his dirty stuff there all the time.”

“You mean the building that I was almost raped in it?” I asked sarcastically, and he nodded with a wince. I could tell that he was feeling ashamed.

“Pedro, I want us to make a deal.” Wayne stood up and placed his gun in front of Pedro on the table. “Help me and my niece get rid of those punks. They followed her all the way from her home to here to get her money. If you help, I will withdraw from being a gang leader, and if my gang members want to join your mafia, please let them, and if they don’t want to, they pick up a normal lifestyle and quit this sort of life. That’s my promise. No more rowdy acts and killing innocents.” No one objected, and they all nodded with relieved expressions. They were tired of this lifestyle.

It just dawned on me that this was the first time Wayne called me his niece, and it felt good. “If the punks asked for the money nicely, I would have given them sums they have never counted in their lives, but they chose the dark road to do it, so I want them out of my life, yet not necessarily dead.”

“I hear you, Divana. We have a deal.” Pedro shook hands with Wayne. “I am friends with the police station in the north; I will call and tell them to be ready to pick up some junk. We will go at midnight. Prepare yourself,” Pedro replied, and before he got in his car, I cleared my throat to grab his attention.

“I am coming with you.” My declaration made everyone look at me weirdly. “What? You think I’m gonna let you go all by yourself and have all the fun? I was the most affected by them, so I deserve to see their faces when they get taken away by the cops.”

“If she’s going, I am going,” Dorian said, and Roy and Lance crossed their arms.

“Why should you?” they both asked.

“Because I’m her boyfriend. I will go, and that’s final.”

“Fine, only Dorian and Divana will escort us, and I want the rest to wait here with Valentina.” Wayne smiled when he said his wife’s name, and he looked adorable. “Oh, and since I am your uncle, Divana, I will have to test Dorian to see if he is suitable for you or not.”

I just stared at Wayne in shock. Was he really protective of me and acting like an uncle when it has not been a day since we met? To be completely honest, it felt refreshing to finally find my roots, even though we are not blood-related. Blood does not necessarily mean family. Family is when you feel loved and cherished by someone.

“Give it a rest, dear. Like you can boss Diva around when I am around! Don’t worry, Divana. He won’t do anything bad.” Valentina’s support was funny because she looked like a giant baby with a big baby bump.

“But I never said that I would do anything bad!” Wayne tried to defend himself, but Valentina did not have it. “Okay, I might have thought about doing something slightly bad….”

It was almost midnight, and Wayne, Dorian, and I were waiting for Pedro, Jino, Cidro, some of the mafia members, and the cops. “The place is scary. It looks like we ended up in hell!” I stated, and Dorian nodded as he looked around.

“It is abandoned after all. But now, when we enter, I want you to follow my lead and stay silent until you feel that it is the best time to speak. Divana, you stay behind Dorian at all times. We don’t want to give our surprise away so soon.” Wayne’s smile was creepy, especially when the phone’s screen light was reflected on his face.

“Okay, and look, our group is here.” Dorian pointed to Jino and the rest, who were crossing the empty stress. Wayne repeated what he told us to them, and we were finally ready to enter the building. We casually walked inside, and Pedro slammed the door shut to tell them that someone else was in the building.

“Dom? Is that you?” One of the punks called, and Wayne grinned. He looked at the cops, dressed as civilians, and whispered that they need to be prepared.

“Better, it’s Dom’s boss.” Ten men came out from one room and stepped into the vast hallway. “He told me about the reason you are in Rio, and I thought that it was a good idea to help his friends since Dom was always the loyal friend,” Wayne said with a hint of mockery in his speech. I was still hidden from their sights behind Dorian, so I started my role.

“Please, let me go!” I faked a cry, and Dorian held me gently.

“Who is that?” one asked, and Pedro stood next to me.

“We got a girl. Is this the one you have been searching for?” Pedro asked as he motioned for me to walk closer so they could see my face.

“Dude, yes! Where have you found her? We planned on kidnapping her from her house, but she suddenly disappeared. Good thing I had a friend in the police department who told me about his partner and where he went. We followed them and teamed up with your guys, leader. I had to kill someone to get information about her whereabouts. You made our life so much easy. Thank you, now hand her over.”

Didn’t he realize that he confessed everything to strangers? Idiot.

“I would love to do that, but you see, Dom stabbed me in the back, so I want something in return.” Wayne was testing the waters as each cop stood behind each punk without making them suspect a thing.

“Fine, you can have fun with her before we get her.” As he said that, Pedro snapped his fingers as a sign to get moving.

“All of you are under arrest for kidnap, assault, murder... oh and look, dope.” One of the cops was a savage; he grabbed a bag of white drugs as he opened his jacket to be identified as a police officer. They were trembling.

“What? Dom ratted us out?” the one who confessed everything like an idiot asked, and I grinned. Their faces were priceless, and the fear was evident in their eyes. You made me move across nations, so you deserve what you get in prison.

“Dom is no longer available, have fun in jail!” Wayne replied.

“We’ll end up in hell, boys, and that’s because of your stupid idea and greed for money!” One of the punks spat on the idiot one. They will end up in hell for sure… Good luck, boys!
