Chapter Warming 70

Chapter 70

Back at Orchidstone Garden, Lucille was scrolling her phone on the couch. She looked up when a shadow was suddenly cast over her and saw Spencer in front of her, dressed in pajamas after his shower.

“I filled up the bathtub for you, Why don’t you get up and have a soak?” he asked while looking down at her lovingly,

Lucille almost felt like a princess living with Spencer, or perhaps she was already living like one.

At home, Spencer cooked her meals and planned her outfits. He did everything so flawlessly and took care of her so well that she was starting to think her limbs were wasted on her.

And yet, she found herself enjoying every second of it. She wondered if she had been incapacitated by the poison that was Spencer.

Who would’ve thought that the cold and distant CEO, Spencer, would be such a great husband? She was happy that he was hers.

“I suspect that you’re trying to make me fully dependent on you so you can lock me up.” Lucille narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously.

Spencer looked like he was actually considering it. Then, he said matter–of–factly,” That’s a good idea. I’ll keep it in mind.”

Lucille was rendered speechless. She’d just been joking.

“Please don’t,” she said as she stood up from the couch. Spencer helped her up.

Lucille was suddenly reminded of something.

She looked up at Spencer and said, “By the way, since the day after tomorrow’s Thanksgiving, I want to invite Grandma over for lunch. Then, we can head to Layton Manor at night. Is that alright?”

Spencer patted her head and replied lovingly, “There’s no need to overcomplicate things. We can just take Grandma to Layton Manor with us. Grandpa and the others want to see her too.”

“Is that really okay?”

“Of course it to I’lL4,

smiled and reminded her, “Hurry and take a bath before the water turns cold”

He was acting like a concerned father. Lucille’s impression of him as a high–and- mighty CEO was falling apart.

30 minutes later, Lucille emerged from the bathroom.

Spencer was sitting up on the bed with his laptop on his lap. Upon hearing the door open, he looked at her and stood up. Then, he walked up to her and pulled her back into the bathroom.

“What’s wrong?” Lucille was dumbfounded. She’d just left the bathroom.

Upon entering the bathroom, Spencer pulled out a hairdryer from the cupboard and said, “Come here. We need to dry the ends of your hair first.”

Lucille didn’t know why Spencer had the habit of drying her hair, even when it was barely wet. However, she still obeyed him and walked over.

Since she was five feet and five inches tall, she looked tiny in front of Spencer, who was six feet and two inches tall.

Spencer was very gentle. It was as if he was terrified of hurting her.

Meanwhile, in a certain luxury car, Eunice was curled up next to the door. She hugged her knees and buried her face in her arms.

There was only a shirt covering her. She looked like a wreck. On the other hand, aside from a few wrinkles on his clothes, lan remained composed and elegant.

Eunice stayed in the same pose until the car stopped.

lan didn’t spare her a single glance. He stepped out of the car and walked to the gates.

Wesley stood by the car door respectfully. When lan’s silhouette faded into the distance, he sighed and walked to the door on the other side.

He knocked twice and asked caringly, “Ms. Lennon, should I call the maids over?”

After a while, Eunice replied, “No. Mr. Dawson, can you borrow another car from Wilfred? I want to stay in this car for a little longer.
