Chapter 93 

Joanna waited, but silence was her only answer. Holding back the sadness, she turned and walked away. 

It was a good while later when Derek finally came out of his room. He went to the kitchen to check out what Joanna had brought. He wasn’t feeling great about it 

His current situation was a lot to handle. 

Ah well, maybe it’d be different next time. 

Riding the elevator down to the basement level, Joanna had barely stepped out when someone grabbed her hair. “Naomi, 1 you doing this to me? 

ami, you two–timer, why are 

crazed voice rang through the air as Joanna screamed in pain.

Her cries had barely escaped her lips when a nauseatingly strong smell hit her nose, and then her world went dark as her body went limp in

Dressed in a black cap and face mask, Freddy held onto Joanna, quickly carrying her outside and tossing her into a car 

He had been there since the crack of dawn, filled with a hatred gut knew no bounds. Sanders Group was on the brink of collapse, and despite his desperate attempts to keep it alleat, just one sentence from Naomi had left him with nothing. 

Damon, lying in the hospital after a stroke brought on by the shock, had sapped all hope, Lindsey, crying endlessly, found herself stranded when the hospital asked for the fees and she discovered that both her bank and credit cards were empty 

When she called Freddy, he hurried to the hospital, but he was broke too. With no option left, he called Rosalind to ask for a loan. But Rosalind refused, and so he turned to Javier, who was still livid at Freddy for running off with Roulind, Javier flat–out ignored him and even threatened to take him down. 

Javier had managed to dodge a crisis facing the Edwards family through various connections, but in the process, he’d lost the Edwards manor. 

One particularly important connection had expressed interest in the manor and the yard, so with a modest sum exchanged as a mere formality, the Edwards manor was gone. 

Javier was furious but dared not speak out, knowing he still needed favors from others. 

Freddy sought our old acquaintances for help, but was met with rejection everywhere he turned. They all expressed that they couldn’t afford to provoke the people he had crossed, advising him to take care of himself. 

Freddy realized that the only person he had truly offended was Naomi 

Ever since Naomi was pushed down the hill by Rosalind, she had become a completely different 

person. 

She had cut ties with the Edwards family and, without a shred of sentiment, had broken with him 

up 

The man Naomi was now with was no other than Shawn–Atopan’s very own devil incanate. 

Freddy finally understood why the Sanders Group, which had never faced a single issue before, was suddenly plunged into such a dire crisis. It was all Naomi’s doing 

Because she hated him. 

She hated him for forcing her to give blood transfusions to Rosalind over and over again. 

Freddy was losing his mind. After being forced to sell his shares due to his own mistakes, he no longer possessed a stake in the company or the role of Sanders Group’s acting CEO. The name Sanders Jewels would soon be history in Atopan. 

He pinned all the blame on Naomi. She must have filled Shawn’s ear with sweet nothings, turning the Fischer Group against the Sanders family, causing their downfall. 

Freddy had actually believed that Naomi, after being kicked out of Spring Villa by Shawn, would soon hit a dead end and come crawling back to

him, ready to do his bidding 

But no, Naomi had been playing him all along. 

Grinding his teeth in anger as he drove. Freddy fumed. “Naomi, just you wait. If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me. Watch your back!” 

“Ha! I’ve lost everything. I’m no longer the golden boy of the Sanders family. Why should I spare you after what you’ve done? And why should I care about our past?” 

“What past could we possibly have? You’re just a nobody from an orphanage. I was decent to you and you clung to me like a lost puppy” 

“You think just because you’ve latched onto Shawn Fischer, you’re all set?” 

While Freddy angrily ranted to himself, Joanna in the backseat silently regained consciousness. 

Carefully, without giving herself away, Joanna sent a message to her agent, shared her live location, and then dialed 911. 

Though her body felt weak and the unpleasant smell still lingered in her nostrils, her mind was sharp 

Listening to Freddy’s tirade, she realized he had mistaken her for Naomi 

so similar to Naomi’s that in the dimly lit underground. 

She was wearing a mask and a hat when she went to Honeycomb Valley, but her figure was so parking garage, Freddy, backlit by the elevator, could only make out the rough outline. 

Her ear was a white Ferrari too, and when she got out, she was carrying loads of groceries and spices, heading straight to the fourteenth floor and into what Freddy thought was Naomi’s place in the Edwards manor 

So, it was natural for Freddy to mistake her for Naomi, 

Now, with Freddy’s mind consumed by madness, he planned to take Naomi to the Golden Club, confident that her looks could fetch a high price. 

More importantly, as Shawn Fischer was behind the Sanders family’s troubles, taking his woman would be a brutal blow to Shawn’s pride. 

“Naomi, just wait,” he growled to himself. “Till make sure you wish you were dead. How dare you betray me to be with Shawn? Do you think you’re 

safe with him? Not a chance! 

Joanna’s nails dug into her palm, the pain bringing back some of her strength. Perhaps because she’d been knocked out, and Freddy was in a hurry, he hadn’t tied her up–just dumped her in the backseat. 

Glancing around, Joanna spotted a dog leash under the seat. Considering the speed at which they were traveling and how hasty Freddy was, it wouldn’t be long before they reached the Golden Club, 

Once there, no matter if she was Naomi or not, it would be a disaster. 

She couldn’t let him take her to the Golden Club. 

Joanna waited until her strength returned marginally, then, without a word, she snatched up the dog leash and swiftly looped it around Freddy’s neck from behind 

“Stop the car, or I’ll kill you” 

She had already hung up the emergency call, her movements precise and forceful. Having acted in numerous crime dramas, she’d learned some techniques from professionals to get into character, and the training was about to pay off. 

Even if Freddy had mistaken her for someone else, she couldn’t afford to be soft now. She had also sent a warning to Naomi about Freddy. 

It’s because that people who lose control like he had become unpredictable and dangerous. 

The instant the leash tightened around his neck, Freddy’s control over the car faltered, and the vehicle veered straight into a green belt. 

“Bang- 

With a loud crash, the car broke through the median, coming to a final stop against a large tree. 

At the Spring Villa. Naomi abruptly awoke from sleep, her body breaking out in a cold sweat as if from a terrible nightmare, yet upon waking, she couldn’t recall any details.
