Chapter 9
Chapter 9 Mind Your Own Business!
His warm breath blew into her car, making her instantly melt. Cordelia struggled to resist the desire to surrender, and squinted her eyes. “Aren't you afraid your little mistress will get impatient and start crying outside?”
Elijah put away his smile and glared at her.
“Cordelia, watch your words!"
Cordelia’s heart sank.
He cared about Eva.
Since he already had someone to care about, why would he still try to flirt with her?
Cordelia’s beautiful eyes lost their luster. Although she felt insecure in her current position, she still refused to back down.
She sneered, “So? Can't she satisfy you?”
Elijah let go of Cordelia and spoke coldly, “That's not what your think. Not every woman is like you.”
Like how? Cordelia wondered.
So, he could embrace and feed Eva sweetly, but she was not allowed to dance with a partner?
Cordelia widened her beautiful eyes and stared fixedly at the man before her. She did gain more insight!
"Did you hear me?" Elijah pressed on aggressively.
At this moment, his phone started relentlessly ringing in his pocket. He ignored it the first time, but the caller dialed again.
Cordelia looked at him coldly. “Don't worry, I won't make any mistakes before the divorce. And I will protect my rights as a married woman to the end!”
Extramarital affairs should be compensated by the guilty party to the spouse.
Before meeting Eva, Cordelia planned to break up peacefully with Elijah.
But now, since she couldn't keep the man, let him make up for it with money!
Elijah carefully examined Cordelia for a while, furrowing his brows "Stop being so ambiguous. Nobody has harmed your rights. Mind your own business.”
After saying that, Elijah turned and left.
Cordelia collapsed against the wall as if she were drained of
energy.
her lace and almost had an emotional breakdown but ultimately held it in.
On weekends, Cordelia usually went to her mother’s house for dinner. Seeing Cordelia return alone, Janice was unhappy. “Why didn't you come back with Elijah?”
“He's busy,” Cordelia replied calmly.
“Cordelia, don't try to fool me. Are you quarreling with Elijah?” Janice glared at her angrily.
Cordelia frowned slightly and didn’t answer.
Janice took Cordelia’s silence as confirmation and immediately stepped forward to twist her ear.
“Cordelia, are you stupid? Without Elijah, you are going to starve! Let me tell you, neither Kevin nor I will support you!”
Kevin Deleon was her stepfather. Cordelia winced in pain and quickly slapped away Janice's hand. “I don't need it. Even if I starve, I won't ask you for a penny!”
“You better be.” Janice looked at Cordelia disdainfully. “Alright, we didn’t prepare your meal today. If Elijah isn't coming, you don't have to come back either.”
Cordelia bit her lip and told herself not to get angry. This was her
own mother. She had to endure!
Just as Cordelia was about to leave, a slightly teasing voice sounded. “So it turns out Janice didn't prepare a meal for me and my wife. What a coincidence.”
Cordelia turned around and met a smiling face. His deep eyes contained a hint of meaning.
Was he... mocking her?
“Traffic was bad, so I arrived late, Cordelia,” Elijah approached and affectionately embraced Cordelia’s slender waist. “Since there's no meal for us, I'll take Cordelia out to eat.”
Suddenly, Cordelia felt a tightness around her waist.
This bastard pinched the flesh on her waist as if warning her to follow his escape route.
She leaned into Elijah’s arms and held onto his waist. “Sure, I feel like eating steak today. Let's go have a barbecue!”
Elijah responded happily, “Sure thing.”
Just then, Mac Deleon heard the sound and hurriedly ran out of the room, calling out sweetly, “Elijah, you're here!”
Mae was Cordelia’s half-sister from the same mother, whom Janice was very proud of.
She was dressed in a complicated floral pink dress, heavily made up, as if attending a grand party.
Her gaze.
Elijah raised an eyebrow. “Mae, you look beautiful today.”
Mac blushed and smiled shyly. “Thank you.”
Apparently, Mae was interested in her brother-in-law.
Cordelia noticed that Elijah was raising an eyebrow at her with a hint of provocation.
What a boring man. Cordelia thought.
Just then, Mae took advantage of the situation and asked in a whiny voice, “Cordelia, can I borrow your car for a couple of days?
“I just started my internship and need a car for transportation. Mom said she would buy me a new one, but it's a waste. After all, you're my sister. And your car could be my car, right?”
Mae pouted and glanced at Elijah several times.
Cordelia didn't expect Janice and Mae to come up with such a plan together.
Cordelia’s car was a BMW X5, a gift she bought for herself when she graduated and earned her first bucket of gold. How could she lend it to someone else?
Just as she was about to refuse, Elijah spoke up, “Darling, let her use the cart”
Cordelia was astonished by Elijah’s unexpected generosity,
He had never interfered in her family matters before. What happened to him today?
Mae didn't hide her greed at all and stared straight at Elijah, saying, “Thank you! Elijah, you're the best!”
With that, she reached out her hand to Cordelia with a smug expression.
“Give me the key.”
Cordelia lowered her gaze and looked at her bag.
The car key is inside, but she didn't want to take it out. A flame- was burning in her heart.
At this moment, Elijah suddenly leaned close to her and said, “I just got a red Ferrari. The color suits you perfectly. ”
