Chapter 6

Maintenance Technician Tyra Housenn did not care if she were to be reprimanded for her unofficial foray into the Enclosed sector of the Ship, she had her portable contact the entire governing nodule, including the Ship’s actuator. She did this while they were still inside the enclosed section, just in case there were any questions about the site and Tyra would be able to share on-locale. There was no need to have a physical meeting for what she had to tell them of what she learned about the true reason for the Ship’s journey, thanks to her portable’s translating the dead language of the ancients.

When every single member of the nodule connected—visually and projected-wise, Tyra handed over the entire presentation of their tour of the Enclosed section to her portable. It replayed major parts their investigation, including the last few minutes of the portable’s translating the ancients’ language. For verification, some of the nodes in the government asked that the Ship’s actuator, as a second opinion, also take a look at the portable’s recordings of all the ancient texts and iconographic characters.

The actuator verified Tech-Housenn’s portable device’s translation of the ancient text…

And just as the nodule governance had done nearly a year prior, the Ship’s actuator conducted a vote from the human nodes; right there, after Tyra’s portable concluded its presentation. There simply was no time to waste to put off the vote for a sit-down that would take weeks to organize, given everyone’s schedule! That time, however, the subject of the vote was piled atop the issue of the depleting nuclear fuel of the Ship to, now, include informing the whole colony of the plans for docking with planet cMaj in the Canis Major system, and finally, the fact that their entire reason for existing was to keep homo sapiens alive in the universe!

Now that the governing nodule had voted to inform the total populace of their whole situation as a generational ship, the more public division within the nodule had to get into action. The communications crew within the nodule, at first, had to coordinate with the Military division nodes. To make sure the Military and its security sub-division had its people and super-synths in place around the entire Ship, should the terrible revelation of the Ship’s fate be received with violence by some of the citizenry. After all, it had only been about a week since the uprising by thousands of citizens outside Infrastructure’s headquarters.

Once the Military had its teams and troops in position throughout the Ship—which took a couple of days, only then did the human nodules decide to tell the Ship’s actuator they were ready for it to do a rare all-Ship public notice…
