I leave Kade behind, I have to get out of there, far enough away so they don’t find him. I have a hundred questions running through my head. I ran back along to where they dropped me off and slowed down to a walk. Memories were awakening in my brain, something about this area kept bugging me, the buzz of a sign above me made me look up, and then it all came flooding back to me.

“I take it your kill was a success?” The agent asked me noticing the blood on my face.

As usual, the ride back was silent, but the agent kept glancing in the rearview mirror at me as if he knew something was different this time. We arrive back at the compound and I gaze out of the window as we enter.

I’m pulled out and dragged along to the entrance which leads us through to the data room where everything is imputed into a computer. Agent Black stands in front of me.

“Mission successful?”

“Yes,” I lied again.

“Any witnesses?” He looked straight into my eyes.

“It was a strip club, but I was careful, he was alone at the back.” I held his stare.

“Time of Kill?”

“Erm, 9:45 pm.” Shit, I had completely forgotten about checking the time, fuck.

“Go get changed.” He dropped his gaze from me, something was up, I could feel it.

“You sure there were no witnesses tonight?”

“Good, Simpson will take you back to your cell.” He nods to Simpson who grunts at me to follow him.

As I walk along the corridor my thoughts go to Lucy and I pray she is alright. I can’t wait to tell her that I saw Kade and he is planning something. Simpson opens my cell door and I sit down on my mattress. I waited as Simpson disappeared before I pulled myself up against the bars next to Lucy’s cell. “Lucy,” I whispered softly, she seemed distant. “Lucy!” I repeated it louder, her face tilted up and her eyes caught mine.

“Are you okay?” I ask her, puzzled at why she hasn’t moved. “We are going to get out of here Lucy, I saw Kade. He’s coming for us.”

There was no emotion from her, what have they done? Her eyes stared blankly at me for a moment then she spoke.

“Who is Kade?”
