Vengeful Hearts Return Novel by Susan Clyde

Chapter 142

After sending the message, Dylan waited for a long time but there was no more news from Audrey. A trace of gloom flashed across his deep eyes.

In the darkness, he emanated a sense of loneliness.

Suddenly, the main door of the Holland residence swung open with a loud bang, and a beam of light pierced the darkness.

It was as if a light had lit up in Dylan’s heart.

After a while, he saw a slender figure walk out of the door.

The woman wore simple loungewear. Her long curly hair was casually draped over her shoulders, and her features were stunning, with rosy lips and pearly white teeth.

Even from a distance, Dylan could catch the sweet scent of Audrey after her bath, and seeing her ethereal beauty in the dim light made his heart race.

In that moment, Dylan felt like he had seen his savior, someone pulling him out of a dark abyss.

After a long while, Audrey looked at the man in the car coldly. Her eyes were filled with impatience as she frowned and said, “Aren’t you in pain? Hurry up!”

With that, Audrey turned around and walked into the Holland residence.

As Dylan watched the petite figure walking away, a gentle smile gradually appeared on his elegant face. Then, Dylan got out of the car and followed her into the house.

Inside the Holland residence, Callum and Wendy were slightly surprised when they saw Dylan.

“Callum, Wendy,” Dylan greeted politely to them before following Audrey upstairs.

Once upstairs, Audrey headed straight to the lab, which was fully equipped with medical instruments.

She glanced indifferently at the man who came in behind her and said, “Sit down.”

Dylan was seriously injured from the explosion. His back was bleeding again. and the bandages were now soaked with blood from the trip back from Norville.

Audrey glanced at the blood–soaked bandages and instructed Dylan to turn around.

Obediently, Dylan turned his back and allowed Audrey to treat his wounds.

The wounds had stuck to the bandages. Dylan felt extreme pain when Audrey treated them. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and his face turned pale, but he didn’t make a sound.

With a slight purse of her lips, Audrey continued her work with calm precision.

After finally removing the bandages, Audrey breathed a slight sigh of relief.

The wound had worsened, and the surrounding area was red and swollen.

Audrey pressed a bit harder while disinfecting, causing Dylan to grunt in pain. His hands clenched with veins bulging. “Serves you right!” Audrey sneered.

Dylan said in a low and hoarse voice, “I don’t want to stay there alone.” He sounded a little aggrieved, but he did not dare to move.

Yun Jinyan remained silent, focusing on disinfecting and treating the wounds. Then, she applied medicine and rewrapped his injuries with fresh bandages.

Previously in Norville, there was a nurse assisting in the operating room, so Audrey had always wrapped the bandages from behind Dylan.
