Unlawful Affair With Asher Williams

Adelie POV

"I told you that I'm fine already. I can resume work," I whine to Raymond. I have been at home for the past two days, and all effort to convince him that I'm fine and can go to the office has proven abortive.

"I told you to rest, baby," He utters as he strokes my hair, and I sigh briefly, knowing he won't listen to me no matter how much I try to convince him.

"When should I resume then? I can't keep staying at home like this. Asher is going to the office every day, and I'm bored being the only one at home," I whine to him. Talking about Asher, he has been avoiding me and acting weird ever since I got back from the hospital. He hasn't flirted with me the way he used to, and as much as I want to assume that he already changed, something keeps telling me otherwise. Something must be wrong with him which he's hiding from me. "Do you want to come over to my place and stay..." He pauses and sighs briefly.

"I forgot Rhea has been busy with work, and won't be able to spend time with you. Maybe you should resume work tomorrow," He utters, and I smile excitedly. I can finally leave this house.

"So, how are you preparing for the company's end-of-the-year party?" I inquire since it'll be taking place a few days from now.

"Everything has been planned, and it's hosting in five days," He replies to me, and I nod my head.

"I already ordered the dress you will be wearing then. It'll be delivered soon," He further says, and I smile excitedly. It's always amazing to have someone so sweet as my boyfriend.

"Thank you," I hug him tightly, and he giggles.

Her phone suddenly starts ringing, and he excuses himself to answer the phone.

"What happened? Is everything alright?" I ask him once he comes back about five minutes later with a deep frown on his face.

"Everything is not fine. Rhea is disturbed about the incident that happened three days ago," He sighs briefly as he throws himself on the couch, and I squint my eyes. What incident is he talking about? "What are you talking about?" I blink my eyes rapidly as I stare at him, waiting for an answer.

"You didn't know about the three dead bodies that were found in the bush days ago? Actually, one of the victims was Leila... My ex-girlfriend that harassed you at my friend's party that night," He explains to me and raises my eyebrows. "Wh... what happened to them?" I ask because I never knew something like that happened.

"They were found dead. Autopsy report proved that Leila stabbed herself, and the two other victims were injured in the neck, like something bite them there," He explains, and I gasp as I quickly cover my mouth.

"The problem now is that all the evidence has disappeared, including the marks on their bodies, the videos and photos shot at the crime scene, and even the footage in the station. Rhea is really stressed and disturbed since it was her first case ever," He explains, and I gulp down nothing. My heart thumps heavily against my chest, as everything came playing in my head. Now I can remember what happened that night. After I hang out with Raymond, he got a call from home that his mom collapsed, and I had to go home by myself. Yes, I remember boarding a cab since I didn't have my car with me, and... and...

"No!" I gasp sharply and my eyes widen as I remember everything clearly now. The culprit... It was Asher! I saw him killing everybody... I saw him suck their blood dry, and the way he commanded Leila to stab herself multiple times. I know all of it.

"Are you okay, babe?" I snap my head to look at the person sitting beside me, but I shriek when I see Asher. I was sitting with Ray minutes ago, how come it's Asher now?

'You developed a fever and I rushed you here. You didn't see anything, Adelie' yes, that was how he made me forget everything. He hypnotized me.

"Ge... get away from me..." I stutter as I suddenly jerk up to my feet and step away from him.

"What? Do you want to tell him what happened? How about I kill your mom and dad?" He grins at me, revealing the sharp-edged fangs in his mouth, and my heart froze for seconds.

"No... No... Don't hurt them, please. I won't say anything," I shake my head as I slowly step away from him, but I stop when I crash against someone behind me, and I turn sharply to see Asher standing behind me.

"Are you ok?" He asks once I snap out of my trance, and it dawn on me that I've just been hallucinating and mistaking Raymond for him, but I know it's his handwork. Just who the hell is this young man tormenting me?

"Baby... What happened? Are you okay?" Raymond pulls me into his arms, and hugs me tightly, while I shut my eyes.

"He is the one... Asher killed them... I saw him do it," I wanted to scream and tell everyone, but I'm scared they won't be able to catch him, which means death for me and my family.

"Adelie... Are you ok?" I tilt my head to find Cynthia standing in front of Asher, and I slowly nod my head. I didn't know she came here.

"You don't look fine. Should I take you to the hospital? What is wrong with you, Adelie?" Asher asks, maintaining an innocent and worried look. How the hell is he still able to make that face even after what he did? How is he still able to act like nothing happened, even as he knows what he did?

"I'm... I'm fine," I stutter nervously, even though it's written all over me that I'm not fine. How the hell am I supposed to be fine when my supposed brother is tormenting me?

"Uhm... Ray... Can I come with you to your house?" I turn to Raymond and ask him because there's no way I will stay here after I recalled everything that happened. What if he decides to kill me later?

"You don't need to go with him. I'm here," He utters as he stares into my eyes, and I find myself nodding my head.

"Alright. Uhm... Ray, I will stay back at home. Asher is here to take care of me," It's as if someone else is talking through me because that is not what I wanted to say. It seems like I'm in trouble right now, and can't even get out of it. Maybe today will be my last day here on earth, who knows?
