Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter Prologue

“You will pay for this!” the red immortal screamed as I thrusted my sword across her throat causing her to choke herself and gurgle her last remaining words to me. She fell to the ground with a thump and laid there like rest of the dead immortals I had to slay. They all seemed like shadows of lumped bodies. I took a second to look onto the horizon hoping some sort of light would come soon.

Nothing only a descending moon that partly lit up our battlefield. Where it showed silhouettes to partly lit figures, The screaming and clashing of blades was my background noise. As well a painful reminder to why we are here.

I brought my attention back to dead red immortals.

“I know, I been paying for this since his death” I replied to the air that was filled with smell of metallic blood.

Ever since Kieran death, news got out to the red immortals. That soon travelled to the red queen; from then on Red Queen declared was on the black immortals including me or whoever associated with me or my loved ones. Now everyone with a few other species is attacked by red immortals as their targets are Lycan packs to send a message to challenge us. Though it is only at night time they come out since Kieran power does not shield them from the sun anymore.

I groan at the distance thought but was thrown short when I heard a sweep of a blade behind me. In my fast pace thinking, I brought my blade having it painfully connect with a sharp clank to another blade.

I quickly looked up to see who I needed to defend myself from and this time a male who I couldn’t quite make out as he was covered in blood and dark shadows. Not sure if the blood was his or someone else’s. But no time to think as I pushed him away with a huff of a breath and twirled paying attention to my and his feet as I swung my blade repeatedly at him. Pushing him back as he angrily came at me.

Just like the other red immortals he was seeking revenge for his leader, completely blinded by his anger and not truly thinking of fighting. He was fighting with anger.

He stumbled a bit as more bloody bodies began to scatter the ground. I could feel the slime and wetness of blood seeping onto my boots as I stepped in it. Nausea swept over me for a moment but I forced it down and took my chance kicking the stumbling mortal in the stomach. He clumsily fell back but not for long as a growl came with a snarl and black shape that outlines some fur passed me and took the screaming man in half. Adding another body to the ground. I turned my attention to the bear size Lycan and smiled a thank you but again that was short lived.

Another came screeching above snarling like a crazy animal. I moved angling myself pushing my blade up and second later heard the skin piercing and blood gurgling out of the red immortal came.

I recovered fast enough as another came escaping the clattering and shouting of Nyx’s warriors. She slammed into me pushing my body into the bloodies warm ground soon becoming cold. Instantly my back was wet and soaking with the other blood. She was trying to strangle me, as we thrusted swaying at each other.

I gritted my teeth in frustration trying to get her off but my hands with their grip began to slip as the soaked bloodied ground began to reach up my arms as we swayed and rounded around.

A movement later her head was ripped off and thrown away as a shadow and disappeared in the darkness. I raised my self-up to see who helped. It was none other than my husband.

You, okay?’ he thought to me.

I nodded quickly, and we went back into action as he ran and I climbed his back, pushing us forward, sailing through the fighting. Wolf ripping people apart as my wooden arrows pierced through red immortals’ hearts.

The sun should be coming soon” Wolf thought.

‘I know’ I replied releasing another arrow which sunk into a red immortal coming after us. He fell as did his shadow. It was hard to tell how many were actually here because how dark it was, but we would stop them at anything to make sure they didn’t attack and kill a Lycan pack nearby,

Seems their hungry for revenge, not realizing what time it will be soon’ I thought to Wolf. He didn’t replied just ran.

That was the nice thing about my union with Wolf we could mind speak with one another without speaking. No one knows about it except us as it not common between different species. It is a Lycan thing, no one else’s. Wolf and I keep it for safety.

Wolf kept running through the dead and fighting bodies till I felt glary as the corner of my eye. A hint of purple to pink began to rise onto the horizon crawling every inch onto the surface reaching us.

‘Finally,’ I thought.

To that a ear piercing scream came next to a cry to run. Then as dark flowing water with shapes, multiple shadows of the red immortals began to move.

‘Asema’ Wolf thought.

But I was way ahead of him as I thought of earth and imagined to caging in every red immortal I could reach. Roots and vines sprung up out of the ground grabbing a hold of the scattering red immortals. I only used my powers when absolutely necessary since my ring would pulse with power and I was till getting used to so much power.

Creaking mixed with screaming that ended with ear splitting cries for mercy. This part I couldn’t stand as I asked air to deafen the noise and closed my eyes.

The sun sprung out and fire began to burn, emerging from the cages to would turn to ash.

Feeling like it lasted for hours when only a few seconds. I peeled my eyes open feeling and seeing the red and pink from the dawn partnered with burned ashes in cages.

A familiar man came to stand by Wolf and I, I looked to see Brock shaking his head. He was tired and weary.

“When will this stop?”

I looked back to the horizon where I commanded the retracting vines and roots to return.

“Either when no more red immortals are alive or when they feel revenge is fulfilled” I replied with a shiver crawling up my back.
