Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter 7

Contacting Wolf to come wasn’t hard as when he received my message moments later, I met him as he came through the portal though fear rippled through me.

“I don’t know how long we will be…but will the children be okay?” I asked, and found myself walking to the portable but Wolfs hand grasps my arm pulling me back. Giving me a reassuring look.

“They are fine, honestly, my parents understand, if we are gone a day or two longer that they would send them to Madam who openly accepted.” He assured me with his gaze, the green golden orbs bore into mine.

I did feel calm and did trust my husband, I guess I was just a scared mother who wanted her kids close. I relaxed my body and nodded, “Okay.”

Wolf studied me again unsure if he should take my word for it or not. It was long moment of silence just telling me that doubt was something in the factor but we both trusted one another.

“Okay.” Wolf replied back.

Another hour or so and Thuse met Wolf and I at the portable, with few other warriors. Thought they already enabled the location and were making their way through the portal. While I stayed there wondering if I should wait or join after the last warrior entering the oval portable. Tough my question was soon answered when Thuse motioned Wolf and I through the portable. But stopped us before we even entered.

“Just so you are aware, the Aer Kingdom is a harmony kingdom but sometimes they are blunt and almost speak in way you do not understand.” Thuse spoke then looked to the portable, I followed his gaze and saw white and clouds brightly lit. Almost seemed that it had a Greek column taste to it.

“Try not to be too impressed by it, we don’t need a person who stared when they need to work. Just help get the job done…understood?”

I would have response but Thuse walked through the portable and already began walking around the other side. Shaking my head in frustration Wolf took a hold of my hand reminding. I smiled and we both made our way through the portable.

Exiting we were hit by a different feeling of air almost as if I was in another world. I sucked in the air trying to concentrate to the task at hand but my wondering eyes got the best of me.

I wasn’t sure what type of material was before but was all white. From floor to ceiling pure white with only a few speckles of grey in some area. Light shone through giving the white floors a blinding feeling. I shield my eyes turning my focus elsewhere But that drew my attention to another section of the room I did not even notice. AS the columns I saw were the size rainforest trees expanding out where it would take five bodies to fully but barely wrap around it. Beyond the columns took my breath away as I found myself waking forward to what seemed like a edge with no barrier. But what was bestowed before me was truly amazing.

A mountain range lasting beyond the horizon. But no haziness, everything was clear. Literally taking my breath away. My eyes followed down to soon I realized this was a floating kingdom in the air. A floating kingdom with just clouds beneath it, in it and above it. Amazed that it was even bigger than Sky High. But yet it was to be told an ancient kingdom.

I forced myself to back to reality and turned realizing Wolf was by my side but forcedly grabbed my hand pulling me to him. Wonderment went through me but I stopped dead in my tracks with a gasp leaving my mouth. Understanding why he wanted me to cling to him. As I realized we were in a throne room with two white and blueish thrones sitting on a platform dais. Though occupied by a bloody dead body.

I see bodies upon bodies, but this was something else. The shock took me by surprise.

I swallowed in horror as I allowed the world around me to disappear and all the attention was focused onto that slumped body. That had blood dripped down. The red itself made the body pop as it was the only true colour you could actually see. I soon found myself walking towards the body dragging Wolf behind. But suddenly I gave him a squeeze in the hand and let go, except he stayed behind letting me approached the dais myself. I stopped at the steps and just stared at the body. This figure was male, brunette and a face sculpted similar to the woman I saw weeks ago. But something came to mind, he gave off the same type of feeling that the female gave, similar feel I suppose. He was slumped against I believe the backing of the throne, eyes open giving a haunting look, not at me but above and past me. My eyes reached to the top of his head, but stopped as I saw stabbed wound in his chest, I narrowed my focus on that, odd. I forced my eyes to where a crown of sticks was threaded together and soaking in the victim’s blood. I now was beginning to have bad feeling about all of this.

Soon everyone came back into focus, warriors taking notes and shots for holograms pictures to store away for later.

I could feel Wolf behind me but giving me space but another presence came to my side.

“The might legend warrior Asema Darksky gasps at a dead body. I am surprised by your reaction, since you didn’t seem that shocked when finding the first body.” Thuse voice came, he sounded genuinely interested.

I wanted to reply back with words, but what came out of my mouth shocked me. “Were Nova, other victim eyes opened or closed and was she stabbed?” I brought my attention to Thuse who had his arms crossed making the leather jacket crinkle.

“Her eyes were closed, and she was kicked by a spell.” He eyed me and was about to question my thoughts but cut off by a shriek.

“What is this?”

Everyone whirled to the voice, and their stood Emily who has her arms crossed over her chest and have furrowed brows. It was if she was confused by again why she was brought to a random body. I found myself walking to her and stood beside her while examining the body from a distance see if I could get a better angle

“Who was he?” she whispered in my ear, eye glued to the body as if she could take her gave away

“I don’t know…and why are you?”

“I was requested like last time, though I don’t see how me helping here will help you guys, I am just the spokesperson the Equitem Draco family” her voice silenced out again.

“Emily, I am sorry” I pulled back to look at her, “maybe there been a mistake?” I look around seeing if Thuse was around, and found him coming towards me.

“I invited her like last time, if you girls are right, then these bodies may have connection to something we don’t know about yet” Thuse came up to us, confirming something that we were questioning. I felt off now, how was Emily and I the ones to help with this? Something was very off and I am not sure how to place it

“My only worry if is the Aer Kingdom will be okay with me being here…they are very picky about who they invite on their premises,” She gestured to some grand gates that I just realized were there.

“You ask them yourself.” Thuse voice hard, like stone. Emily gaped at him, but almost gave sneer reply.

“Something has changed in you Thuse, you haven’t been acting like yourself lately,” Emily always straight to the point.

Thuse pursued his lips in frustration but turned abruptly returning to the victim at hand.

Emily waved me away to tell me she would be okay and I too should return to the task at hand with a sigh I slowly returned back to the limp body seated on the throne. A warm hand placed itself on my back and I looked around to find Wolf.

“Don’t worry, you know she is strong, when she wants help, she will come to you first… remember that” he reassured me and I gave smile back.

And so we got back to work.

Analyzing the body I soon realized the victim was staring out towards the columns and out onto the mountains almost as if he was staring beyond the horizon. But why? And why did he have a woven wooden crown of sticks taken from a tree branch, As I could see if was only rock mountains and clouds. And why was it shaped like a crown on top of his head. Almost mocking him as apparently he would’ve been king.

Though I never went to close to the body, just studied it from a distance. Time past by slow but was halted when I heard feet come through the grand gates. The gates themselves looked as if made of ice or glass, they looked too delicate to even touch. The steps on the other hand were not thunderous but were light as if stepping on clouds.

They came in and everyone halted their work and bowed except me who turned and was struck by their beauty. They seemed like people from heaven yet down to earth. Their feature showed a delicate feeling. Both them had jet black hair and haunting white eyes that only slightly reminded me of Madam. Their skin was odd though it almost blended in with their pure white and grey clothing yet it was a strong contrast. Best way to view it was cosmic latter colour that staggered more to the white.

A nudge came to my arm and I looked down to see Wolf indicating desperately that I needed to bow. That is when it hit me, these people were the king and queen of Aer Kingdom. So I did a quick bow and rose with everyone else and is someone hit the play button everyone resumed to their positions as while I stood close to Wolf trying not to stare at these people, like they were gods.

They stride forward to Thuse and I saw them closer really seeing them the male wore what looked like white linen fabric draped around his shoulders with two tails at his back. A crown placed on his head delicately, probably made of glass that was coated in white material. Seeing his eyes though confirmed he too had white eyes like snow, same goes for his wife. Though her crown looked to be made of woven white feathers that somehow were weighed down to stay on her head. Her clothing was some type of light white material. It wrapped around her body showing of her shape with only a single when fabric draped over her chest and wore two tails at the back from it.

I have never seen such beautiful creatures. Though they walked as if gravity was not a thing. They held themselves rigidly.

“Captain Thuse” the male spoke but it was like he sounded like air and barely words.

Thuse bowed his head, “Your highness.”

Then their focus went to me and. I wished I did not exist or was invisible as two pairs of eyes stared me down and I wanted to shrivel under them.

“You must be the legend everyone speaks of.” The queen said, though her voice was lighter than air.

All I could do was nod. I stood there, not knowing what I should be doing. Though the queen tilted her head and analyzed me for a moment till she spoke again.

“You must be wondering why we requested you specifically” she stated as if reading my thoughts. All I could do was nod confirming her words.

Thuse and the king turned but focus on the queen who was eyeing me.

“We believe these murders are connected, and since they are brother and sister as well we would like to speak with you.”

The she turned to the corpse staring at it intently. Then walked away as if this thing haunted her. She moved soundlessly taking the kings hand.

“When you are done our servants will show you where to meet us.” The king stated, and him and his queen left the throne room through the white gates.
