Chapter 24
The victims’ names were Dante, Nova, Layla, Eamon and Sarah the children of Equitem Draco. Dante, in line for the crown, he was the air, which is why the killer was mocking him and his ability. Nova was the good little girl that did everything that she was told and did not question things, it was mocking her as a puppet. Layla, loved the forest and the thought it was her rightful place to be killed there and the last victims were Eamon bound to Sarah. They apparently were close to one another.
We informed the royal family about their relatives and of course the queen and king did not want to speak with us and Emily kept a poker face but I knew she was hurting inside. Just the fact knowing that her siblings were being murdered and the fact that I have doubt that Kieran may be alive or not I was not sure.
Well aside from that, Thuse had been missing still, which was odd, as in I had a crack in the case which I hope he would appreciate but I couldn’t give him my glory.
But a lot of life now were distractions as now fall colours seemed to arrive creating abstract and collage of colours in the forest. Soon winter would arrive as making you feel you are in another world yet you remain in reality. Luckily it was only fall, though because of that temperature considerably dropped causing us to say goodbye to the warm hot summer. Though just because of the different temperature, did not mean our battles with the red had slowed down. As now we do get less occasional messages from someone but that always leaves me in a panic to where the end will be, how much more can I do leave my family behind in order to fight and keep their world say. My fear at the moment.
With so many challenges we have yet to overcome there is still one thing that needs a decision soon and I may be happy with it or I may regret it in the end. I guess we will find out in a couple years as I needed to make the decision today.
I watched on the front porch letting a cool breeze pass by through the trees and not disturbing my view as I watched Alice and Junior play with Elektra on a blanket. The house was encased by the trees around us giving a stage of beautiful view, a seclusion. There was the occasional laughter with silly faces. They were having the time of their life and I sat there watching, remembering every precious moment knowing it will be rare for us to a peaceful moment ever again. I grew instantly sad but pushed those thoughts away and took the scene before me again letting a smile form on my lips.
Wolf came into view crunching fallen leaves under his feet as if he purposely making noise to tell me where he was. I watched him stop for a moment, and saw him taking in the scene before him, a smile appeared on his face and he continued to walk towards me and place himself beside me with a creek from the porch accompanying him. He doesn’t say anything but watches the kids. A smooth breeze comes by rifting up his hair a bit but not enough to make it actually mess up. He leans in.
“How are they doing>” he asks even though he saw them moments ago.
I smiled, “fine but like me taking every moment they can before our lives changed once again” I reply with a sad end.
Wolf wraps his arm around me squeezing me into his side not giving a kiss on top of my head. I smile again. He muffles words that I can hear. “Don’t worry we have many years before we have to do anything and remember they could possibly be better.” He leans away finding my eyes.
I nod at his statement, “I know, it still sucks thought.”
He laughs, but something else hide in him, he looks at the kids then back at me. A bird sounds in the distance bringing our world a world a different heaven.
“So, you really going to do this?” he questions looking above the tree branches, as if he was searching for something.
“Yes,” I nod still staring at the kids, “Thinking it over, it is the best situation and gives a excuse not to always go to battle. The knife,” I stop and Wolf looked at me, “the knife gave me a call that I need to be Alice encase something happens again.”
He stays silent and nods, but rubs my back pushing me up to move, “then make you decision.”
I smirked but make my way to the portal that lays lazily in the forest waling by ongoing passengers through the forest. I stop before the portal, and gaze at the entryway it appears shimmering but still looks as if a see-through window. I think and command it and the tower portal room appear. I take a breath convincing myself this is the right decision and walk through it.
