Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter 11

Really only thankful thing I accept is that our boat is not normal, it is faster than a average human boat allowing us to cross the Pacific through only mere hours. Yes, we could have portable, but through that is causes risk.

Wolf slowed down the boat already letting waves wobble the boat and as routine we would request access through the barrier and begin to maneuver through the harbour to where our designated spot was open for us to park. There stood Madam with the kids who only this time didn’t squirm they just held onto Madam and waited for us to dock. But I did notice something different, instead of bright blue skies, I noticed above the clouds were somewhat parted but dark grey that seemed to attract more heavy clouds. The air itself was cooler and wind did not pick up but you could tell the subtleness in it.

We dock and I hugged my children, they wrapped their arms around me so tightly as if they would lose me. At first, I thought something again was off but I forced myself to remember is that it scares them when we leave to fight. And I reminded myself again that we left pretty much abruptly unlike other times we usually do.

So, I hugged back tightly as the two tiny arms warmed my skin and feeling of security while happy to know they are safe. Eventually they let go to what seemed like forever and cool air wrapped around me breaking my focus. I stood glancing at Wolf who took in the kids hugging him. I stride forward to Madam who seemed that shew as inching to leave.

“Everything okay here?” She surprised the question.

I looked back at my family and nodded. “Yes, I believe so, besides I need to speak with Thuse before we leave.”

Madam nodded, “Okay I need to be back at Sky High” she replied and left disappearing through the building alleyways. I turned back to Wolf and the kids. And Wolf began walking the kids to the direction of the residence. Alice took my hand and we walked through the streets that would become busier in only moments if we walked to the center. The concrete I could feel was cooling from the warmth sun that now disappeared behind the clouds.

What threw me off is when Junior spoke while running to my other side gabbing my hand. I looked back to see Wolf alone but smiling at me. But Junior spoke.

“Is it getting that much worse, and when will it end?”

I stared down, luckily, we are just a block away from the residence and crouch in front of Junior and now Alice as she stood by her brother.

“Junior” I started rolling my eyes to Alice, “Alice, I know it is hard, trust me I understand, I hate it. But my honest answer is I can’t tell, either it’s slowing down which we thought but the Rem Immortals are angry and we don’t know when it will end, look” I pulled them in closer, “every time we finish a fight…trust me, “I grabbed their hands squeezing them, “it tiring but rewarding knowing other and you are protected.”

They stare back at me but caught are off guard again wrapping their arms around me. I settled into their soft touch taking it in as much as possible. Wolf came into view and smiled at the sight.

you still going to see Thuse?’ he though to me in a way not to disturb the kids.

I didn’t nod but replied, ’yes’ with that Wolf come and crouched beside me signalling the children’sattention.

Alright you two trouble makers, lets keep ourselves company as mama needs to run some errands.

Alice looked at me and back at her father, Junior on the other hand went straight for the house.

“Come one” Wolf Spoke and took Alice’s hand and slowly made their way to the house. While I watched only for a bit as I was already getting a chill from the changing weather.

Upon leaving the battle, I asked Brock to send a message to Thuse about my meet up with him. Hopefully he got the message, and seems like he did as his office door was wide open to the spacious office. I entered and saw that he was staring at out at one the windows to where I come closer could definitely see a hurricane brewing in the distance. But the barrier around the city will protect it with allowing a few droplets of rain to come through.

It was only a moment later that Thuse sensed my presence. He looked over and raised his eyebrows waiting on me to talk. “You have info?”

I nodded and made my way over to the board where now scenes and statements hung from the Aer Kingdom. I began pointing at nothing but the general board. “I discovered it with my husband and yes the killer does want me to figure out who they are as the messages are directed to me, but the question still remains why and who are they. Everyone I know would never hurt a fly unless they were in the battle with me to fight greedy reds.”

I could hear him shuttle on his feet, “Are you sure you have everyone in mind” Thuse was not besides me but I couldn’t feel his odd heat or cold ice. Like he didn’t have anything that radiated from his skin. But my body automatically shifted away.

“Yes,” I replied sharply.

He grimaced at this reply, crossing his arms over his chest and I leaned to one side. I couldn’t tell if he was uncomfortable or recovering from my reply towards him.

“…ok… what do you think they are saying” he said the words carefully almost as if it was for my sake to think hard and carefully.

I turned my attention away from the board to Thuse and studied him for a moment he seemed composed but something did not sit right and I don’t know why. So, I returned my attention to the board, looking at the image of the puppet, her horrifying red blood to scorning my eyes over to the new image of a bloodied future king that will never reign. I hold my body close together having a chill form down my spine.

“Well?” Thuse impatient voice snapped me out my thoughts. I didn’t look at him but spoke.

“She is to under someone or, his command, she has no choice and it connected to Aer murder, as he could’ve ruled but never was given the chance, so staring out is almost mocking him in the face. Relating it to a story of control and something you wanted could never get because of power and control.” I breathed that last bit and glanced back at Thuse and almost jolted, he was eyeing me rather than the evidence and papers on the board. Now I didn’t feel odd but I felt a strange power, something to feel I was above him for some reason.

He shifted in his stance, “and you are certain that is what these scenes are saying to you? That she is his puppet and he could only live as short moment of glory?”

A feeling burst through my locked away chambers, a fear that kept me alive. A reminder to what I got over for so many years came rushing to me but I laid a poker face. While my emotions and mentality were about to scream because all of this was reminding me what the time, I survived a living hell that I tried pushing back as it get easier to deal with every day. But still not a walk in the park.

I swallowed a lump and odd chill went through me. I took a subtle breath and reminded myself he is dead, you watched him fade to dust.

A hand waved over my eyesight snapping my back to Thuse.

“You, okay?” he looked at me generally worried.

Blinking rapidly forming myself back to this time presence, I replied, “yes, just thought of something else…anyways hope that helps, I should get back to my family” I practically bolted out of that room not giving Thuse time to reply or process what just happened between us. All I hoped was that would help and this soon would be over.

I stepped outside and already light rain was splattering against the concrete outside in the city. Some walked with umbrellas taking in their time while other ran for cover.

I wasn’t wearing a jacket just my clothing with a tank top that I now regret as I began to shiver a little form the cold but was somewhat thankful as the cool water and air definitely brought me out of the nightmare I did not want to endure.
