Chapter 16 She Met a Hypocrite
Arya felt that Kara was a bit angry. She did not know the reason, but she also found Rose annoying since the first time she saw Rose.
"Rose, Kara is not good at study. But you are no better than her. So, don't embarrass yourself with your homework!"
Rose was taking the third year again. Her performance was just average in this class. Rose blushed with anger as Arya teased her. Rose blinked. Her eyes were filled with tears. "Arya, I was just joking. Why are you so mean?"
Rose, as her name suggested, looked as fragile as a flower.
She usually wore white dresses. Seeing that Rose was about to cry, the boys immediately criticized Arya.
Kara used to feel sympathy for her when Rose had this look on her face. Kara would persuade Arya not to bully Rose and even ask Arya to apologize to her.
However, now she realized that Rose was a hypocrite. She was just pretending.
"Hey, Rose, you're slow in study. So, work harder. Don't be annoying all day. If you fail the college entrance exam again, you will have to take the third year one more time. You'll become an old lady!" Arya was excited to see Rose's annoyed face.
Rose was one year older than Arya. She had been an adult.
Rose was angered as Arya mentioned that. She was even more annoyed when she noticed that a few boys were staring at her.
"I'm not good at studying. But, Arya, are you better than me?"
Arya arrogantly raised her chin and admitted it calmly.
"I'm not going to a university in China. I don't need to learn these."
Arya's father had got her admitted to a world-famous Ivy League University. She would go abroad after some time.
Rose was jealous of the Bark family's power and wealth. She hated Arya. She hated her parents for not giving her a better life.
If her parents were rich, she wouldn't have to come here and study every day, she wouldn't be ignorant of those expensive cosmetics, and she wouldn't be humiliated by others!
She wanted to say something else, but the bell rang and the teacher walked into the classroom.
Arya saw that Rose was glaring at her, so she gave the middle finger to her.
"Why are you so quiet this time?" Arya was puzzled and put an arm on Kara's shoulder.
Every time Rose cried, Kara would show mercy to her and even persuade Arya to apologize. Arya was always pissed off.
"Dry throat. I don't want to talk." Kara blinked at her.
Arya was amused.
At noon, Rose came to Kara and said that Sophia had prepared lunch for them. She asked to Kara to pick up their lunch at the school gate with her.
Kara looked at her in surprise. Sophia had told her before that someone had poisoned her. She narrowed her eyes and stared at Rose, trying to see through her.
Rose felt guilty under Kara's gaze. Her palms were covered in cold sweat, but she forced a smile as she thought of her plan.
"Kara, if it weren't for you, Aunty wouldn't prepare lunch for me alone. Thank you for that."
Kara sneered in her heart. What she said was quite nice. But who knew what Rose was actually thinking?
Kara wanted to see what tricks Rose would play, so she went with her to the school gate.
When arrived at the school gate, they saw Kathleen walking out of an Audi.
"Kara, I've brought lunch for you."
Kathleen asked the driver to take out the food. She stretched to hold Kara's hand, but Kara dodged.
Kathleen was embarrassed. Thinking of her plan, a sinister light flashed in her eyes.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
