Chapter 81
Chapter 81
“Emmett! Get him to let go of me!” Molly Parrott yelled, her eyes fixed on Emmett. “Why didn’t you tell me about your sham
marriage, Emmett? I’d marry you in a heartbeat! Why would you choose an old hag like her? She’s not worthy of you, I’m your
wife!”
At that, Emmett turned to look at Clara.
She quickly waved her hands, “It wasn’t me who told her, Ricardo did!”
“How did Ricardo find out?”
“I think Ricardo might have made that up to placate Molly... I swear I didn’t tell anyone!”
Behind them, Ricardo swiftly tied up Molly and gave Emmett and Clara a thumbs up, “Mr Melendez, Ms Calloway, I’ll take her to
the police station right away!”
Clara shrugged, raising an eyebrow, “See? He didn’t know anything!”
“Are you hurt?” Emmett scanned her worriedly.
Clara brushed off the concern, “Nope, I’m fine!”
“Good.” Emmett took Clara’s hand and started to walk away.
Ricardo quickly asked, “Mr. Melendez! What should we do with Ms Parrott?”
“Go ask the Parrott family what they plan to do about this! If she dares to touch my wife, it seems the Parrotts don’t want to stay
in business anymore. You can send them my regards
With that, Clara was whisked away by Emmett.
“Wait, wait!” Clara asked, bewildered, as she was shoved into the car, “Where are we going?”
“To see a doctor. You’re injured.”
Clara looked down at her arm and noticed a minor cut, probably from Molly’s antics.
“It’s nothing, really. I’ll just put a Band–Aid on it later.”
“No.”
Clara knew better than to argue, so she let it pass. “What did you mean by what you said earlier? Send them my regards? You’re
not planning to kill Molly, are you?!”
Emmett shot her a look, “She’s not worth dirtying my hands over. Let the Parrotts handle this mess.”
“You’re going to take it out on the Parrotts? That’s a bit harsh, isn’t it?” Clara was taken aback by Emmett’s calm yet ruthless
response. “Molly’s only guilty of being in love with you! I can understand that, even though she’s a bit extreme.”
“She hurt you today, she might find other ways to hurt you in the future!”

“So, you’re taking this out on the Parrotts because of me?” Clara quickly waved her hands, “That’s not necessary! I’m tough, this
little scratch is nothing! You’ve lost nothing, a little scare should be enough for Molly. There’s no need to involve business.”
Emmett remained silent, starting the car and driving away.
As they neared the hospital, he suddenly said, “When you return from your vacation, you’ll take over the acquisition of the Parrott
family’s business.
“Don’t tell me it’s unnecessary! You’re my wife now, and something serious happened. If the Melendez family doesn’t make a
stand, anyone could kidnap or threaten you!”
Clara hadn’t thought that far ahead. She had been scared, but not angry.
After all... there aren’t many women as passionate and headstrong as Molly Parrott, right?
She must really love Emmett to have acted so rashly...
