Two Times the Charm by Mr. Wilson

Chapter 373

Emmett wanted to bust in there immediately, but he knew he had to ensure Aiden and Alex were rescued in one shot and
couldn’t afford any screw-ups.
Plus, he had no clue about the situation inside the warehouse. So, recklessly rushing in was off the table.
Not long after, Matt quietly showed up in the field with a group of people, joining up with Emmett, “Mr. Melendez, are Aiden and
Alex in there?”
“They should be, unless something unexpected happened.” Emmett was cut off as he spotted a petite figure approaching from
not far away.
He thought, “Isn’t that... Leah?”
Why the hell was she there?
Emmett jerked his chin toward her, telling Matt, “Go get her over here. Don’t let her cause a fuss!”
Matt nodded and quickly brought Leah over.
Leah looked a bit freaked out when she saw Emmett, just as flustered as she was when they first met.
“I’m sorry. Did I screw up again? I’m just so worried about the kids, so I...
“Did you tell my parents they’re here?”
Leah nodded, “Yes, a business partner of mine didn’t know the kids are mine! He told me in secret at a party that his friend had
kidnapped two kids from the Melendez family, saying it would be a big pay day. I knew it had to be Aiden and Alex, so, I subtly
got this address out of him.”
Emmett furrowed his brows, “Just stay here and wait. You don’t need to stress about rescuing Aiden and Alex.”
Leah quickly said, “But I... I’m worried about them...”
Emmett shot Leah a glare that silenced her, “What are you worried about? You think you can charge in there and save them?”
Leah hung her head, “I’m sorry, I can’t...”
Just as they were talking, the warehouse door seemed to open, and a couple of people walked out.

Emmett squinted his eyes and gestured to Matt to keep moving closer.
Inside the warehouse.
Aiden and Alex huddled in a corner out of fear.
“So, you two decided to start a fire in here! Trying to commit suicide, are you?”
“We were cold.” Aiden quickly thought of an excuse.
The man glanced at the hole in the roof, narrowing his eyes, “It doesn’t seem like it! Are you two trying to signal for help?”.
“Absolutely not!” Aiden waved his hands frantically, “Alex has a cold; he said he was really cold. I figured since you guys never
wanted to give us food or water, you wouldn’t give us any extra clothes either. So, I started the fire...”
Alex, behind him, quickly sneezed and started coughing when he heard that.
Aiden quickly pointed at Alex and said, “See? He’s really sick. Very sick! Can you give us some cold medicine? If something
happens to him, it’d be trouble for you guys too, right?”
The man hesitated but eventually turned around and left.
Just as Aiden was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a loud noise came from outside, followed by the man’s painful yells.
Alex was shaking behind Aiden, clutching onto his shirt tightly.
“Aiden, did someone get killed outside?”
“Stop talking nonsense. Someone must be here to rescue us.”
“Really? Let’s get out of here thén!”
