Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Izabella’s lips turned pale, and after saying a series of words, her body seemed to have some difficulty. She mechanically tidied up her clothes
“Brett, we could have ended this marriage peacefully, but since you don’t want to, Ill have to sue you See you in court”
Izabella was really a lough woman who could recover quickly after being bullied. For the first time, Brett didn’t know where to begin to break such a person.
As the saying goes, a person who has been hurt a lot will remember the pain and won’t make the same mistake again.
Izabella found the courage to challenge Brett now, knowing that she had the support of the Salotti Group. Without that backing, she believed she would be left in a dire situation, worse off than a mere dog
Initially, Brett hadn’t been interested in acquiring the Salotti Group. However, as he contemplated the situation, he realized that the sooner he took over the Salotti Group and drove the Salotti family into bankruptcy, the sooner he could exert control over Izabella and force her obedience.
Brett attributed this desire for control to his deep–seated hatred for Izabella. He didn’t want to grant her a divorce simply because he refused to fulfill her wishes.
“Why don’t you learn your lesson?” After saying that, Brett grabbed Izabella’s hand and pulled her up.
Her body was light like a feather, holding her felt like holding a piece of feather. It was not the weight a tall woman should have.
Izabella was caught off guard, “Let me go, I can walk by myself!”
Of course, the man wouldn’t listen to her, instead, he held her waist more tightly and strode towards the bedroom.
Izabella lowered her head, tightened her lips, and clenched her fists, trembling
Brett opened the drawer, which contained all kinds of things. His gaze casually swept past a glass bottle containing medicine and didn’t pay attention to it.
“I see you’re in good spirits. You can stay here for three days”
The man’s cold words without any emotion made Izabella shiver. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
“Three days? What do you mean?”
Brett wasn’t kidding. His cold eyes glanced at her, then turned and walked away.
Ignoring her pain, Izabella rolled off the bed and followed Brett with an urgent pace.
However, her severely ill body couldn’t compare to Brett’s. The door in front of her closed with a “bang!” and the entire wall seemed to shake.
Izabella felt as if she had fallen into the freezing cold waters, her pores contracted, and she couldn’t help but shiver
Brett stood outside the room, his gaze piercing the closed door as if he could see Izabella’s face through it. A sneer formed on his lips. He had made up his mind to create an unforgettable memory for her.
Suddenly, a deep fear gripped Izabella that he would simply walk away without a second thought. She pounded on the door, unsure if Brett was still on the other side since the room was soundproofed. All she could do was plead with him repeatedly.
Resting her head against the door, her heart grew cold Tears streamed down her face as she whispered, “Brett, I’m dying…”
“Brett, I’m on the verge of death…”
“I’m truly dying…”
