Chapter 15
"Please, I'm sorry! What have I done so wrong to deserve this?!" The tied little girl said looking nowhere in particular.
The room was dark. The cold night breeze was entering through the opened high window. The girl's half naked body reacted to the cold tied to the chair. The girl was slapped on her cheek making her taste the metallic substance in her mouth-blood.
"You! You are an error since the moment you were given birth to. You are a mistake. Unfortunate, failure, ill fated. You destroyed my life. I don't know why your stupid, fool of a mother gave birth to you. No one will love you. This is where you will rot," the unknown person said while holding her hair tightly, as if wanting to remove her hair from the scalp.
"Please P..." She was interrupted by a hard slap on her cheek.
"If you dare complete your sentence, I'll gladly kill you" the person seethed, breathing heavily with his mouth while the girl nodded fearfully.
The person loosen the rope around her and dragged her to another room. He threw her on the wall, her tired body slumped down the wall. She looked frantically to the new cell she was thrown into. She gasped when she saw a scrawny boy around the corner who was shivering. She forced her pained body to help him, she crawled to while her injuries were protesting.
She reached the boy and touched his shoulder gently, the boy raised his head up with fears shining in his eyes.
"What--wrong?" she asked slowly, her voice was jumbled together. The boy didn't reply, he was just looking at her as if he was analyzing her.
The door opened and a guard threw a piece of cold bread on the floor for the girl. The girl took it eagerly and scouted closer to the boy. The boy looked at her with hungry eyes and gulped before looking away. "You want?" she asked and the boy nodded quietly. She shared it into two and gave him one. The boy devoured it quickly while looking at the other one expectedly and she gave him while smiling at him. When the boy was through with the bread, he hugged her," I will never forget you and I shall protect you from all arms because you are my angel" he vowed while she smiled shyly.
"I shall save you and always come for you because you are mine"
"I'm yours also" She responded.
"When I'm free, I'll save you and take you" he smiled, revealing his dimples. "Let's promise pinky" he said, holding his little left finger out for her, she crossed it with hers and they erupted in a fit of laughter. They were happy with no worries of what tomorrow had on store for them.
They became bestest friends, she shared her meal with him and they played together. And one unfortunate day, a guard dragged the boy away.
Seconds passed; minutes passed; hours passed; days passed; weeks passed; months passed after the boy was dragged away.
The girl felt weak tied to the chair with several lashes on her but the girl never once gave up. She had Allah with her and with Allah everything was possible.
One day, a guard came in to serve her food-her meal as usual, a cold bread. He forgot to take the keys beside the tray.
The girl saw the key and started to wiggling her way out, this was her chance. She removed her hands out of the tightened rope. After freeing her hand, she loosened the remaining rope.
She opened the door, looked right and left for any sound but found none.
This was her chance.
She ran like never before.
Back in the cell, the unknown person had realised that she had escaped.
"Guards, run after her. I love this little game of chase." He licked his lips sinisterly.
The girl was running with tattered cloth. Her legs were not saving her because the legs hadn't been in use for so long.
She heard trashing and clearing of leaves and branches behind her from people who were running after her.
"I can do it," she told herself. She ran to hide at the back of a tree; little did she know the monster was waiting for her to swallow her. She was doomed.
The person's eyes danced with amusement and laughed maniacally.
"Running, are we? Where do you think you are going, little Sophy? Do you think you can escape me?" the person said shaking his head. The person held her cheek tightly. The little girl shook her vigorously and whispered out a small "no".
"Good girl but also a little bad girl," the person said.
"Please don't hurt me. I won't do that again, I swear," the girl begged out with a stream of tears.
"Ah, Sophy, I'm not hurting you. You can go-I'm leaving you. Go, now because my boy has paid for your freedom" the person said while pointing to the pathway.
She glanced at the person and then the pathway.
"Go now before I've a change of heart" the girl took her heel and ran but not before going too far she heard a promising raged dark voice.
"I will come back for you, little Sophy," the voice echoed round the dark, thick forest sending a dark chill all over her body.
She ran till she felt herself lost to blackness.
SOPHIA POV
"I'm still coming back for you."
The voice-I jolted up from the tied chair with a throbbing head. I was tied again!
The memories were starting to resurface. He was coming back.
He would break me more than before. Damaged me more than before. The carvings were still on me to remind; I could never escape him.
Used. Damaged. I could never be free. I thought I escaped but here I was. I was brought out of my self-wallow when the cell was unlocked and a deep voice boomed out. "The sleeping beauty is finally awake." I was definitely not escaping this. Ya, Allah, save me!.
