Turning Of The Tide (Natalie and Trevon)

Chapter 712

Sherri could not stop laughing while Hackett's face darkened a little.

They chatted and laughed as they ate.

The sleeves of Trevon's shirt were rolled up to his elbows. He was neither anxious nor impatient. He slowly picked up his fork and said in good spirits, "Come on, let's talk about it."

He was talking about engagement gift.

Frank was almost done eating. He had always been serious about his food and ate faster than others. He tilted back in his chair with one hand lazily hanging on the back of Ava's chair. His fingertips were playing with Ava's ponytail intentionally or unintentionally. He leaned sideways and raised his eyebrows at Hackett. "You can let your imagination run wild. What do you want? I think Trevon wouldn't mind." When Frank saw Hackett looking at him, he teased, "There's nothing romantic between us. I don't love you, and you don't love me. You don't have to look at me."

He and Ava were here today to witness his nephew's marriage.

Hackett was speechless, thinking, 'What's wrong with him? Only Ava would be interested in such a mean person like him.'

The somewhat solemn atmosphere turned into a comedy scene with just a few words from Frank. The atmosphere became much lighter, and everyone present could not help but laugh. Sherri maintained an attitude today. As long as today's discussion was successful, it was acceptable if Hackett did not jump off a building, no matter how many people teased him. Natalie patted her son's shoulder and whispered, "Jasper, if your godfather drinks too much later and doesn't use the right words, just pretend he's complimenting you and forgive him." "Okay, got it."

"Ruby, don't worry. Your father and godfather and other uncles will take care of it. Eat more. You must've been so busy recently. You look thinner." As he spoke, Natalie turned the wheel in front of Ruby with a smile on his lips.

Ruby thanked him. "Thank you, Mrs. Wilson."

Sherri felt her daughter's way of addressing Natalie was wrong and corrected her. "Ruby, just Natalie is fine."

Natalie rolled her eyes at her. "There's no rush, Okay? Can't you wait for a little longer?"

Sherri was delighted and laughed out loud. Everyone could tell from a glance that she was the happiest person on the table. Those who did not know she was there to discuss her daughter's marriage today would think it was her wedding day.

Hackett, who had long let go, went through the ritual. "Alright, if I don't name any gift, it's a waste since you're so wealthy. Then I'll do you a favor."

They all chuckled. Ruby knew her father was not that angry. She smiled at his father. Hackett looked at his daughter with mixed feelings. She was finally going to get married. He smiled unnaturally. He was reluctant to part with her.

His daughter, whom he had protected for so long, finally had another man to protect her. Hackett had been paving the way for that brat for so many years. He had ended many love rivals after another for Jasper. What a good father-in-law Hackett was.

Hackett titled himself in his heart as "Love Rival Terminator."

Trevon knew Hackett's temperament. He also smiled and sat upright with his hands folded. It was a contrast to Frank's sitting posture beside him. "Come on, give us a break. Just tell me what else you want. A house? Money? Anything."

"Alright..." Hackett only said so. He still did not answer directly.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Hackett said in front of everyone, "I'm not that snobbish. The conditions for Ruby's marriage were for scaring people away."

Unexpectedly, Jasper faced the difficulties and worked hard according to Hackett's standards. Jasper had backbone, which Hackett admired.

Whether it was Trevon or Frank, they knew Hackett's conditions for Ruby's marriage were fake. It was just that Jasper was stubborn and had to get them done.

As expected, Jasper did not give up on becoming the wealthiest man or lowering his standard just because Hackett said so. He said, "Regardless of whether your requests for your future son-in-law are real or fake, the conditions you mentioned are all I want to give Ruby."

Jasper's upbringing came from his bones. Before he looked up, he poured a glass of water for Ruby and handed her a tissue. When he met Hackett's gaze, he replied sincerely again, "Mr. Blackwell, Mrs. Blackwell, I promised to be the wealthiest man when I marry Ruby. Even if the wedding is settled today, I will still do what needs to be done. I won't stop what I've promised."

Frank gave his nephew a thumbs up. Jasper had a backbone and pride. It was not in vain for Frank to take a beating for his nephew.

As a future mother-in-law, Sherri was touched by Jasper's words. She took a tissue to wipe the tears that were about to fall from her eyes and sniffed.

Natalie pinched her eyebrows and made a gesture to stop Sherri. "It's about time. It's time to end filming. There's no audition today. Let's talk about the wedding."

Ruby, at the side, was so touched that tears welled up in her eyes. She held Jasper's hand tightly under the table and expressed her answer, indicating that she would always be there with him. When Hackett's lips parted slightly, Trevon said generously, "Since things have come to this, we should focus on talking about engagement gift. I'll give you a chance to rip me off."

Trevon had asked Hackett about what he wanted, but Hackett had not answered yet. Trevon preferred Hackett bring up the conditions and settle the wedding.

Hackett saw the determination in Jasper's eyes. He believed Jasper could treat Ruby well. Jasper was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but Hackett believed Jasper would work hard for Ruby.

In the end, Hackett's condition was 20 million dollars. Trevon felt it was insufficient and asked Jim to make an appointment to transfer 160 million dollars to Hackett's account.

Hackett did not refuse. It was settled.

Jasper continued, "The shares under my name will also be transferred to Ruby. The kindergarten and the airline are my gifts to Ruby."

Sherri refused and said, "Wait a minute, Jasper. You want to be good to Ruby, I understand. I can feel it and believe you. Forget about the company's shares. I don't have any shares when I marry your father, right? Hackett."

Hearing what Sherri said, Hackett and Sherri exchanged looks. After a few seconds of silence, Hackett nodded. "Yes."

They exchanged 10% of their shares.

Trevon smiled. "If you refuse him, Jasper will probably not be able to sleep tight at night. Jasper, do as they say and transfer 10% of your shares to Ruby."

Before Hackett could say anything, Sherri slapped her thigh. If the wedding was settled today, she could sleep laughingly at night. "Alright, Hackett. Transfer 10% of the shares to Jasper. We can be considered to have joined forces. Not bad, not bad. Jasper, you can call me by my name from today on."

Everyone was speechless. Wasn't that a little too rushed? The wedding date had yet to be set.

The meal was quite harmonious. Hackett had received 160 million dollars in one night. He still had to decide on the engagement date and inform the family elders.

Trevon said that Hackett could decide on the engagement date and wedding details. It could be considered an apology for deceiving Hackett before.

After the meal, the three families parted ways. Ruby and Jasper were separated and brought back to their respective homes by their parents. Although the wedding had been decided, many details were yet to be discussed. Be it Hackett or Sherri, they needed to inform the elders about such a happy thing.

Back to the Wilson's residence.

As soon as he entered, Jasper, still lowering his head to change his shoes, said, "I'll transfer the money for the engagement gift to your account tomorrow."

Trevon laughed in annoyance. He asked, "Why don't you change your surname too? Why don't you change your surname to Blackwell and be their live-in son-in-law?"

Others were envious of his family properties, but his son was not. Jasper did not want anything and only wanted to rely on himself.

In Trevon's opinion, having an emulous son was sometimes not good. It made him seem dispensable. He could not help much. His son could handle nearly everything himself.

Jasper even wanted to deal with the engagement gift himself. How capable! But Trevon was determined. "No matter what, your son and daughter will call me Grandpa. You have to give me a chance to do something for you. Leave the engagement gift and your wedding ceremony to me. If you still want to add anything to the engagement gift, you can do it yourself. I don't care. You're not an orphan. Don't make it seem like you don't have parents."

Jasper had a stubborn personality. He wanted to rely on his ability to marry Ruby. Moreover, he was capable of doing it now. Trevon and Jasper looked at each other, and the atmosphere was somewhat tense. Natalie chuckled when she saw the scene. She sighed in her heart. One wished to do something for his son, while the son stubbornly wanted to rely on himself. It was all because they had too much money. "Alright, Jasper, listen to your father. Not to mention that we can help you, even if we don't have the ability, as parents, we should still hold a grand wedding ceremony for you."

After saying that, she rubbed her son's hair and patted his shoulder. In the end, Jasper agreed.

Only then did Trevon's expression soften. He asked again, "Why did you change your flight?"

Just before Jasper stepped off the plane, Trevon received a message from the bodyguards in the dark. He said Jasper changed his flight and landed safely. The bodyguards did not know that many people were waiting at the airport.

As for why Jasper had changed the flight, the bodyguards had no idea. Their mission was only to protect Jasper and report his safety.

Jasper explained briefly, "I left something at the hotel, so I returned to get it."

Natalie thought it should be something meaningful. Otherwise, Jasper would not have to return to the hotel and get it when he was already at the airport. Fortunately, Jasper changed the flight and did not get on the original plane.

Everything was predestined.

After Jasper went upstairs, he took out an exquisite box hidden in his pocket and opened it. There were two necklaces inside. One was a round pendant with a hollow middle, and the other was more luxurious. In the middle of the other was a heart-shaped design with diamonds. The large circle pendant wrapped around the smaller heart-shaped one when the two round pendants combined.

The necklaces meant that the couple would always be together and never separate. Jasper happened to see them when he was on a business trip. At that time, after listening to the sales assistant's explanation, he bought it without hesitation.

He clearly remembered putting the box in his pocket, but when he found the flight ticket at the airport, he realized the gift box was not there.

He could only turn back. Too many people were at dinner, so he could not give the gift to Ruby. He could only give it to her another day. Fortunately, the wedding was settled today, which was a pleasant surprise.

However, he was still not outstanding enough.

He threw the phone on the bed. Because he used too much strength, the phone somersaulted the bed. He took out his pajamas from the wardrobe and prepared to shower. He guessed that Ruby must be discussing something with her parents, so it was not suitable to contact her.
