Truth, Lies and Deception (the boyband series)

That evening..

Jason had informed Abigail that he would be stopping off at her apartment to drop off the pass that she would need to get backstage, so when Abigail heard the knock on the door as she finished dressing, she wasn’t surprised. She quickly slipped on her shoes and ran her hands through her curls, before heading to the door.

“Damn.” Jason said, as she opened the door and motioned him inside and viewed her outfit.

She wore a black, halter top which stopped just above her navel, exposing her navel ring and low riding levis.

“You look hot.” Jason said, his eyebrows rose in appraisal, “You’re not going to have any trouble fitting in I’m sure.”

Abigail smiled and shrugged.

“It’s not every day I get to dress like this on a case.” She told him as she pulled out her lipstick.

“True, but I’m sure there’s definitely going to be girls wearing much less than that anyway.” Jason stated.

Abigail paused and looked at him lowering her lipstick in her hand.

“You think I should change?” she asked a bit worriedly, “I did think this halter top was a bit revealing.” She added looking down at her top and then at Jason.

“No, no!” he answered hurriedly, “It’s fine. After all, you are going to a concert.” He continued.

“You’re right.” She said nodding.

Jason reached into his pocket then and pulled out a plastic card attached to a thin piece of rope. He walked over to her and put it over her head.

“That’s pretty much all you need to get in.” he told her, pushing his hands into his pockets as he faced her, “Now remember, if anyone asks, your name is just Abigail Rains.” He said, “Be sure you drop the detective. The only person that needs to know that you’re a COP is Rick. I tried to call him to tell him that I’d be sending you instead but I couldn’t reach him. Be sure you meet Rick before the show and explain all this to him okay?”

“Yes sir.” She answered with a mock salute.

“Oh and uh, as I told you before, if anyone asks who you’re with, you know like the crew or something, just say that you’re Rick’s girlfriend and they’ll pretty much leave you alone.”

“You sure he doesn’t already have a girlfriend?” Abigail asked.

“Positive. Rick definitely does NOT have a girlfriend.” Jason stated.

“Okay, well, thanks for all the help.” She told him, “But I think I should be able to handle this.” She added giving him a reassuring smile.

Jason looked at her and smiled back. She may be ready for the case but he wasn’t sure if she’d be ready for Rick. After all, if he knew his friend as well as he thought, Rick Camden would be totally captivated by her. He wished he could be there to see his friend’s face when they finally met. It would be priceless.
