Truth, Lies and Deception (the boyband series)

Chapter 17

For most of the afternoon, Sara kept Abigail so occupied, she barely had a chance to look around as she’d wanted to. The only time she’d had alone was when they were both sent to the hotel to get changed for the concert while the guys were getting dressed at the venue.

Now back at the venue, it was almost an hour before the show and Abigail had barely seen Rick since they’d arrived together so she was surprised when she spotted him walking towards her. He was wearing the leather pants, that was part of the costume he would be wearing for the show, and a black wife beater.

“Hey.” She said with a smile.

“You look great.” He told her, taking in her short denim skirt and equally short top.

“Thanks.” She said with a slight blush, “Just trying to look the part.”

“Well you do.” He told her finally meeting her eyes, “So? What have you been up to?” he asked her, “Have you looked around? Did you see anyone or anything suspicious?”

Abigail shook her head.

“Not really.” She admitted, “Sara kept dragging me around the venue.”

“Well, if she took you around the venue, you must have seen some stuff.”

“Yeah, but not as much as I would have liked.” Abigail said.

AJ called out to Rick then, telling him they wanted him in make-up.

Abigail saw him wince as he raised his arm to signal to AJ that he heard him.

“How’s the arm?” she asked concerned.

“It’s still a bit sore.” He admitted running a hand over his shoulder.

“You should try not moving it so much.”

“That’s going be hard if you’ve got lots of dancing to do.” Rick replied with a chuckle. “It’s all part of the job, don’t worry about it.”

“I just don’t want you to hurt yourself unnecessarily, that’s all.” Abigail told him.

He smiled and kissed her cheek softly.

“I’ll go put some ice on it right now.” He assured her before walking away with a smile.

Abigail sighed as she watched him go and didn’t notice Sara approaching her.

“Came to check up on you did he?” Sara asked following her gaze.

“Yup.”

“He’s a real sweatheart, huh?” Sara asked again.

Abigail looked at her.

“Yes. Yes he is.”

Sara nodded.

“Are you going to stay back here for a while or are you going out to the front?” she asked Abigail.

“I thought I’d stay back here for a while.” Abigail answered, “Look around a little bit.”

“Do you need some company?”
