True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2267

Seeing Claudia extending her hand to snatch the ID, Sebastian lifted it up high then and there.

He was taller than her, thus it was beyond her reach once he lifted it high.

He had no intention to return her the ID. He looked down at her hand, which was holding his arm, with a slightly strange expression. Claudia was clasping his arm. Noticing that he was looking at her, she withdrew her hand instantly and said, "Give it back to me!"

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Sebastian replied impassively, "So what if I take a look at it?"

"Why do you need to look at it? There's nothing noteworthy on it," Claudia muttered, "It isn't like you haven't seen one before. Do your relative who works as police officer not have a police ID too?" "Yes, I've seen my uncle-in-law's police ID before. Indeed, there's nothing special about it," Sebastian answered apathetically.

"Then why did you look at mine?" Claudia mumbled.

"It's yours." Sebastian took another glance at it, as though it meant something. There was certain emotions in his tone, but he did not finish his words at last.

Being mystified, Claudia inquired, "What's wrong with mine?"

Sebastian looked up and did not look into Claudia's eyes.

"What's wrong with mine then?" Claudia shook his arm and appeared to be like a little girlfriend, who cajoled her boyfriend into indulging her whim.

The two of them stood together, looking like a perfect match.

For a moment, the lady, who called the police and considered them as scammers, sensed that something was amiss. She stared at them with a pucker between her eyebrows.

"Hey! Sebastian, say something." Claudia was still shaking his arm.

Sebastian had no choice but to lower his head to gaze at her.

In an instant, their eyes met.

Claudia perceived his dark eyes, and he was looking at her unblinkingly.

"What's wrong with mine?" Claudia zoned out for a short time before she asked quickly, "Tell me." "You look very ugly in the photo," Sebastian replied

in a fast tone.

"Ugly?" Claudia frowned. "How am I ugly? Everyone said that I'm adorable in that photo. My senior even commented that I look very cute in it, just like his first love. How dare you say that I'm ugly? Is there something wrong with your eyes?"

She was truly adorable.

Hearing that her seniors were all praising her, Sebastian could not tolerate it and got a little mad.

A feeling of bitterness descended on him, making him feel uncomfortable.

His face fell.

"Senior?"

"Yes." Claudia nodded. "Many boys in my police academy opined that I look great in this photo, but you said I'm ugly. I think there's a sense of sourness going on here. Even if I've offended you, you don't have hold me up as an object of ridicule, do you?"

"Many boys? How many are there exactly?" Sebastian grasped a key point in Claudia's sentence, wondering just how many boys she had flirted with.

How many boys had praised her photo? This was the first question that came to his mind.

He did not know why he cared about it so much.

The two of them gazed at each other, as if no one else was around. Claudia was also in perplexity as she really could not understand why he had to ask such a question.

In her eyes, there was no need to ask such a question at all.

Suddenly, something flashed through her mind. Her eyes widened as she goggled at him. "What... what do you mean by asking this?"

In fact, she wanted to say, "Do you care about this?"

She stammered a few times, but in the end, she did not ask such a question because she felt that it would be too presumptuous of her to ask so.

Certain words were easy to be said aloud, but the consequences that came after could be immeasurable.

Claudia altered her way of inquiring, and she did not avert her eyes from his, since she hoped to get an answer.

Sebastian was fazed by her gaze.

Being stared at by her just like that, it made his heart flutter. He actually dared not to look straight at her black and bright eyes.

Seeing that he had shifted his gaze away from her, and that his incredulously striking face had gone pink, she was full of disbelief. "You... you can't be blushing, can you?"

Hearing her words, his face turned even redder, and the flush of embarrassment rose to his ears.

His mind had been guessed by her.

He was even more mortified. Feeling that his thoughts had been seen through, it made his toes curl. "Who's blushing?" he roared angrily.

His voice was a little high in pitch, yet his tone was a little deep, which confounded the lady next to them.

She observed the two of them and yelled in a sudden realization, "Don't tell me that the two of you are in a relationship. Are you? Did you make such an a scene over a quarrel?"

As soon as she said so, Sebastian and Claudia looked at the lady in unison, and their eyes had been filled with shock as they denied it simultaneously.

"We aren't in a relationship."

"You've mistaken it."

The fact that both of them denied it at the same time caused the woman to furrow her brow.

"It's so plain. Aren't you two just a couple who are having a quarrel? You even pretend to be scammers in front of me."

"Excuse me? There's no way I'll take a fancy to a little boy like him."

Claudia denied it without hesitation, as if she was afraid to be associated with Sebastian.

It was also that attitude of hers that made Sebastian knit his brow. He had wanted to deny it at first, but he held it back in his heart without saying it.

However, Claudia's words had hurt him

inexplicably, making his expression darken.

Displeasure was written all over his face, and the atmosphere around him had turned cold, which put pressure on others.

"See, your boyfriend's face has fallen. It goes without saying that he disapproves of your words that he isn't your boyfriend. Little girl, you still have to take care of your man's feelings. Do you understand?" The lady spoke again, pointing at Sebastian.

Claudia followed the direction of her finger and saw the sulkiness on Sebastian's face.

His expression had indeed darkened.

However, what did it have to do with her?

What was more terrifying was that when the lady said so, Sebastian just frowned without showing sign to disagree with the lady's words.

Claudia was surprised, wondering why he was out of sorts.

"Your imagination is pretty impressive, I must say, but you've made a wrong guess," Sebastian answered expressionlessly.

"I've seen so many young lovers like you. Normally, they have a hard time of tribulation because they either want to play hard to get, or think they will lose face if they admit their mistakes in front of their partners. The lady did not say that they were scammers anymore. Instead, she advised them earnestly, "Life is just about a hundred years long, and the days when we can be together are very short. So, why do you have to create these unnecessary misunderstandings and troubles rather than spend some good time being in love with each other? Let's make peace quickly lest I

misunderstand that you are

scammers."

"It's true that two of us aren't scammers, and there are indeed some misunderstandings, but we aren't a couple." Claudia once again distanced herself from Sebastian.

To her, he would not like her anyway.

Therefore, she might as well save herself of trouble of being derided him. He might said she was flattering herself that he was in love with her if she did not deny it. She

might be made to be the one who was pestering him.

No matter how thick-skinned she was, she could not stand such a blow. She had no taste for being treated with mockery all the time.

She displayed her keenness to deny their relationship once again.

Sebastian could not get it. Wasn't she interested in him before that?

She had even confessed her love to him, and she used to be so determined. How long had it only been since then? She was so eager to sever ties with him then. If it wasn't her being an fickle person, what else could it be?

Sure enough, she was a fickle woman. She could simply confess her love, make up her mind frivolously and change it flippantly. Her temperament was rather mercurial.

She was not consistent with her attitude.

Despite knowing so, he was surrounded by an air of despondency. Why was that?

No matter how he looked at Claudia, he still felt awkward.

"Lad, in my opinion, you should be more thick-skinned when it comes to humoring your girlfriend. Don't be so sluggish. It's normal for your

girlfriend to be coy because girls et

dignity have to be respected. If boys take the initiative, everything will be resolved easily. Why do I feel that it's you who is hindering this relationship from going further? Are the boys nowadays all so pretentious?"

"You're damn right, miss. The boys nowadays are all so pretentious. They are helpless at it." Claudia finally found a way to resonate with the lady. She found it very hilarious to have someone remarked that Sebastian was pretentious.

Claudia could not help but to concur with the lady. She felt she was walking on air, and her previous depression had dissipated at that time.
