Chapter 60. England
The call was made through the computer’s Messenger programme and, as planned, was brief.
“So, is everything as we suggested it would be?” asked the deep voice.
Vasylenko spoke quietly, “It is. Our trainer will be gone for about a month. It is as if they want to starve us.”
“Hm. Not for the first time,” responded the deep voice. “Our intelligence confirms that there have been negotiations at the highest level. Our friends are not our friends in this matter.”
Vasylenko automatically nodded, though the cameras were not activated, so he replied, “Yes, so it seems.”
“So, we proceed?” asked the voice.
“Yes,” was the reply.
“Are all in support?” asked the voice.
“No.”
“Vovk?” asked the voice.
Vasylenko paused, “Yes. The wolf does not agree.”
There was a deep chuckle. “No matter. We will proceed as planned. Yes?”
There was a pause. “Yes.”
The call promptly ended.
