Traum Junge (Dream Boy)

Chapter [40]

◄BREAK MY PROMISE►

Something feels off today. There seems to be an unsettling feeling in my gut that keeps telling me that something is about to go wrong. But what?

I ended the call on a good note, but the feeling still doesn’t go away. I better go to her just to make sure.

I grabbed the keys to unlock my bike from the garage and speeded to where the café is. It was an empty road tonight. Clean and undisturbed. The wind blasts on my face as I picked up my speed, pedaling as soon as my adrenaline kicked in. The sun coloring the sky with shades of orange, fire red, and tinted blue, a scenery I couldn’t help but admire.

But I shouldn’t have looked at it this time. I should’ve looked ahead.

If I did, then I never would’ve missed the red light.

If I did, then I never would have entered the cross-section and get crushed by two colliding ten-wheeler trucks.

I never would’ve bled my head out on the street.

I never would’ve played the last 7 minutes of my life this second.

I would’ve seen Winter that night and told her how much I love her.

I would’ve had her in my arms right now, hugging like no tomorrow, even as an over-rated chick flick movie plays in the background.

I never would have had to break my promise…to stay.
