Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire

Chapter 177

Marco walked back to his private jet after dealing with a few individuals who would now pay for what they had done to him. He sat down and leaned back.

"Sir, you should rest. For today, we'll return to the hotel and handle the rest tomorrow," Pedro suggested, causing Marco to look at his subordinate.

"No, especially with what we still have to resolve. I want all of this to be over as soon as possible. I really need to meet Letta," Marco said, his last words sounding like a whisper, indicating how much he needed his wife. "But if Sir insists, your condition won't be good," Pedro expressed concern about his boss's well-being.

"It's not the first or second time you've seen this, is it? Have you ever seen me relax when there are problems I face?" Marco retorted, leaving Pedro silent.

"But everything can be continued tomorrow, Sir. We just need to handle the remaining matters in Chicago," Pedro suggested again.

"What about the others?" Marco inquired.

"It seems the news that has circulated is starting to reach them. So, they will slowly start approaching again and rectifying their mistakes. We just need to wait. Right now, Sir should focus on what they've already disrupted. We'll start again with your initial plan," Pedro explained, making Marco roughly rub his face.

"Fine, let's go back then. Where's my phone? I need to call Letta again," Marco said, closing his eyes, and Pedro nodded. Marco truly wanted everything to be over quickly so he could be close to Letta. He felt extremely exhausted and needed support, and that was only from his wife. Pedro handed Marco his phone, and Marco called his home again. It had been almost a week since he parted with Letta, and Marco had not heard her voice once. After his last phone call with Desi, Marco didn't receive any callbacks. Marco feared that Letta might be angry, and when the call connected again, it was Desi answering once more.

"Where is Letta now?" Marco asked.

"Madam just returned to her room; she mentioned she would freshen up," Desi replied.

"But I called her earlier, and she didn't answer," Marco said.

"Perhaps Madam is in the bathroom, Sir. Do you want me to check?" Desi suggested.

"Is she upset?" Marco asked, making Desi pause.

"No, but it seems Madam is a bit disappointed because after I said you were calling, she told me to wait for you to call back. She's afraid of disturbing your work," Desi explained, causing Marco to exhale deeply.

"That means she's upset. In that case, see what she's doing and give her the phone," Marco said, pausing for a moment, eagerly anticipating hearing his wife's voice soon. His heart raced a bit faster, and a clear smile appeared, as if he forgot the fatigue just by imagining he would hear Letta's voice. However, before Desi could give the phone to his wife, Pedro approached.

"Sir, there's a problem," Pedro said, causing Marco to have no idea what kind of problem Pedro was going to report.

"Pedro, I was just about to call Letta," Marco said.

"But, Sir, Mr. Edward-" Pedro started with a tense expression, making Marco widen his eyes.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Desi knocked on the bathroom door, hearing the sound of water inside, indicating that her mistress was indeed taking a shower.

"Madam, are you inside?" Desi asked.

"What's up, Desi? I'm showering," Letta responded with a shout.

"There's a call from Sir," Desi replied. After that, Desi heard the closing tap, and Letta hurriedly came out. Even her hair was still dripping water as she put on her bathrobe.

"Marco's calling?" Letta asked with sparkling eyes, making Desi shake her head.

"I've connected the call to Madam's phone in the room. You just need to answer it," Desi explained, making Letta smile.

"Thank you, Desi," Letta said, and Desi nodded with hurried steps. Letta walked towards the nightstand.

"Madam, be careful, it's slippery," Desi warned, making Letta smile with a fluttering feeling. Letta reached out to pick up the phone.

"Hello, Marco?" Letta said with a beaming smile. However, after that, Letta frowned and looked at Desi.

"No one's on the other end. Are you sure you connected it?" Letta asked, making Desi nod.

"Yes, Madam. I connected it. Maybe the call got disconnected?" Desi suggested, then walked closer. After that, Desi took over the phone, and indeed, the connection was lost. "Do I need to call Sir back?" Desi asked, making Letta silent for a moment.

"Wouldn't we be disturbing his work?" Letta asked, seeming hesitant, making Desi smile and shake her head.

"No, Madam. Sir even asked about you earlier. He's waiting for your call too," Desi said, finally getting Letta to nod.

"In that case, let's call again," Letta said, making Desi attempt to make a call to Marco's number. However, Desi shook her head immediately.

"Suddenly, Sir's number is inactive, Madam. Could his phone suddenly be off?" Desi suggested, and Letta took over.

"Let me try," Letta said, and the result was the same. Marco's phone suddenly became inactive.

"Can we contact Pedro?" Letta asked, making Desi nod.

"We can try, Madam,” Desi said, dialing Pedro's number, but the result was the same. Pedro couldn't be reached, although all his calls were connected, but it seemed they were busy. "Maybe they are busy. Let it be; I might try calling him later," Letta said, her face showing a bit of sadness as the radiant expression she had suddenly disappeared, making Desi feel disappointed.

"All right then, thank you, Desi. I'll dry my hair," Letta said, making Desi walk closer.

"Do you need my help, Madam? I can help you dry your hair,” Desi suggested, but Letta shook her head.

"No need. Besides, you must have a lot of work. You can go back downstairs," Letta said, finally making Desi nod with a slightly disappointed feeling. Desi felt sad seeing Letta, who was now looking at her own reflection in the mirror before finally leaving the room.

Meanwhile, Letta let out a long sigh. As busy as her husband was, not hearing Marco's voice for a whole week, even just to hear his deep voice, felt difficult, Letta thought as she began to contemplate. Could Marco eat properly? Did he take care of his body well? Because with just phone calls, he had no time, let alone to think about his health, Letta thought, starting to feel anxious. How big of a problem were they currently facing? Letta then rubbed her round belly. "It seems your father is really busy. Do you miss him?" Letta said, immediately receiving a kick from her belly, making Letta smile. Just chatting like this with their future child made Letta feel a bit comforted. At least she didn't feel alone because their unborn child was currently keeping her company.

"Let's pray that your father comes back soon and can be with us, and all his problems can be resolved. You miss him too, just like your mother here," Letta said with a beaming smile, continuing to chat with their future child.
