Chapter 164
Marco was stroking his wife's long hair as she leaned against his shoulder. "Is the book more interesting than looking at me?" Marco asked as Letta had been focused on her book all this time. They were both lying, leaning on the same hospital bed. Letta finally looked up and gazed at Marco, who still had bandages on his head.
"I've been looking at you since morning, and I need a different view. I'm also a little bored, so I chose to read a book for a while," Letta said, smiling broadly, making Marco look at her with raised eyebrows. "You've been reading that book for over 2 hours, and you didn't let me disturb you at all," Marco said, causing Letta to shrug casually before refocusing on her book.
However, as Marco was about to speak again, Pedro suddenly knocked on the door and entered the room. Marco immediately looked at him, while Letta seemed indifferent to whatever would be reported by her husband's subordinate. "There's someone who wants to meet you," Pedro said, making Marco look directly at his subordinate.
"Who?" Marco asked, making Pedro glance briefly at Letta, which was also clearly noticed by Marco. "If the visitor isn't important, just tell them to go back. Say I don't receive any visitors," Marco said, seeming to catch on to Pedro's movements. However, when Pedro was about to nod and turn around, Letta immediately stopped him. "Who is it? Is it an important guest?" Letta asked, making Pedro look back at Marco, and Letta looked at her husband. "Who is it indeed? Who knows, maybe they're your friend or business associate, and they may have good intentions to visit you. So just let them in," Letta said, making Marco shake his head. "No, I'm sure it's not an important guest. Besides, I don't want them to disturb our time together," Marco said again, making Letta sigh in annoyance.
"Come on, we've just been sitting quietly all this time. Besides, isn't it nice to have someone who wants to visit you? Well, at least you might need a friend to talk to, so you don't feel lonely," Letta said, making Marco shake his head. "Who said I was lonely? Aren't you by my side?" Marco replied. "Earlier, you said I didn't pay attention to you for 2 hours, so wouldn't it be nice to have a friend to chat with? And why didn't we just call Pedro to keep you company all this time?" Letta said, which made Pedro bow his head even lower, while Marco looked at his wife with a questioning gaze.
"I don't want anyone else, what I want is you," Marco said, then looked back at Pedro.
"Just tell that person to come back," Marco said, but Letta immediately shook her head.
"No, just let him in. He must have good intentions to come and visit my husband, right?" Letta said, again making Pedro unsure which of his master's commands to follow, until Marco pulled Letta back. "I don't want our time to be disturbed," Marco said again.
"The arrival of a guest won't disturb us. After all, we're just sitting like this. Could it be, are you afraid that the guest will find out that you have a pregnant wife?" Letta asked, making Marco exhale sharply. "It's not like that, no. Even though they indeed don't know my wife's true face. But still, that's not the reason," Marco said, making Letta close the book in her lap.
"I'm sure that's your reason. You don't want to introduce me to your colleagues and friends because you might be ashamed to have a wife like me, especially now that I'm pregnant. Maybe it's because my weight has increased, you're embarrassed to introduce me. Right, you're ashamed to have an ugly wife like me?" Letta asked, making Marco look at his wife with an incredulous gaze.

"I never thought that badly. Then, who on earth thought you were ugly? No! Any flaws in my wife's body, which I fear, are the opposite. What if people find out that I have a beautiful wife, especially now that your pregnant glow truly makes me unable to restrain myself, let alone those envious eyes out there," Marco said, clenching his jaw, making Letta shake her head.
"Not everyone thinks as badly as you do. Maybe they just glance at me without paying attention to you. Because I'm sure they'll only notice a Marco Jovanka. I'm nothing compared to my husband," Letta said, making Marco seem unwilling to lose the argument.
"That's why they're curious about the wife of a Marco Jovanka. They must have imagined what a Letta would be like," Marco said.
"Why do they know your wife's name? Haven't they only known that you're married all this time, that's it?" Letta asked again, making Marco fold his hands and look at his wife intently. "That's because I don't want them to know anything about you. Let them think all sorts of things about my wife," Marco said again.
"That's why they start thinking all sorts of things about me. Could it be that a Marco married an ugly woman? So he doesn't dare to publicize it. Maybe he's too embarrassed, that must be what's on their minds. So, you're hiding me not because it's a fact, but because you're truly infuriating," Letta said, making Marco truly unable to argue with her anymore. Marco didn't know why they were having this argument, he just rubbed his rough face, while Pedro, who seemed to have been in a dilemma since earlier, was standing in front of the arguing couple.
"In that case, just let him in. I don't want my wife to sulk just because I didn't allow someone to visit, because it seems her mind is starting to get out of sync with reality," Marco said again, looking at her with a displeased expression. "So are you saying that my thoughts are wrong? Isn't that what people would think when someone hides their wife, not for safety reasons? Because I'm sure you would deploy all your guards to protect me. I just still don't understand why you didn't let people know my identity," Letta said, seemingly getting more provoked by Marco's words.
"Fine, let's end this argument because I've already told Pedro to let that person in. Although we don't know if that person is good or bad. By coming here, I regret giving my order to Pedro," Marco said, making Letta thump with annoyance. "In that case, just tell Pedro to say that you don't accept visitors, or maybe you want to talk to another guest in another room. It's up to you. I'll confine myself in this room, and when I get home, I'll confine myself in that mansion too," Letta said, seemingly really angry with her husband, making Marco realize that pregnant women's hormones can be truly unstable, just like now. Their initial conversation was fine, but it ended in an argument like this.
