Chapter 137
Marco walked straight into a large casino that would soon be his, as someone escorted him into a special room located behind the building. A room with several guards lining the corridor made Marco look at it, but from the corner of his eye, he noticed how tight the security was in that special room. The large door in front of him opened, and Marco fell silent as he saw several beautiful girls surrounding a man who looked very miserable in front of Marco. The man, whom Marco believed would not live long, remained arrogant in front of him. "I didn't expect you to come this soon," said the middle-aged man with his robust physique, making Marco remain silent in response. Of course, the women around him only smelled money on his body, ignoring his uncertain appearance and the luck that would soon run out, thought Marco, who was now walking closer, then tossing the bag that Pedro had previously carried. "I think you should be done having fun by now," said Marco, causing the man to only intensify his laughter filling the room. "Come on, you can sit down first, and ladies, please attend to our young master. He's too confident to overthrow me. He dreams of taking over this casino and the nightclubs that almost dominate Chicago," said the man, who was now only wearing a robe, showing off his hairy chest being caressed by the slender fingers of blond women on his right and left. Other women were seen standing, fetching drinks now placed in the middle of the table, but one woman shamelessly did not turn to her master. Instead, she sat in Marco's chair, making Marco stare at her. Her exotic skin with brown hair and a body that would make men drool didn't sway Marco in the slightest.
"It seems I need one more woman to accompany you on your right side," he said, causing Marco to fold his arms, looking arrogantly at the earthy-smelling man in front of him. "You don't need to make an effort for that, as even without your instruction, the women in this casino would probably willingly approach me," said Marco, causing the arrogant man's laughter to stop, making Marco just tug at the corner of his lips. It seemed his temper wasn't so good either; he was easily provoked, thought Marco.
"Since you have to listen to some insults that I will release, you'd better look inside that suitcase. I hope you're prepared enough to accept it all," said Marco in his arrogant tone, making the man still act casually with a contemptuous smile. "You're just yesterday's child, what do you know? You're just your father's puppet, who soon might not be able to do anything. Even now, I heard he has retired. Despite his body being fitter than mine, he's sitting at home in front of the fireplace with his rocking chair," said the man, mocking Edward.
"That's better than being caressed by several women who only like your money," said Marco, making the women seem unaffected by his words. They would ignore anything for the money thrown by the old man, thought Marco. "Massimo, open the suitcase," said the old man to his subordinate, making the sturdy, dark-skinned man walk promptly and open the contents of the suitcase, revealing a stack of papers in front of him.
"What is this?" asked the old man, finally prompting Marco to reach out, take the drink intended for him earlier, and drink it triumphantly. "You can read it one by one, word by word. I'm sure you can read, can't you, Mr. Lemos?" said Marco, making Mr. Lemos straighten his body, pushing away the hands of the women who had been caressing him, and began to open each document that Marco had just presented.
"What's this nonsense? What kind of nonsense are you dragging into my important room?" he said, seemingly starting to be provoked by Marco, as his face began to turn red with suppressed anger.
"Nonsense. How could I bring nonsense to a place like this? Or maybe I can call it my place," emphasized Marco in each sentence, making Mr. Lemos immediately tear all the papers in front of him.
"That won't mean anything. If you want to burn it with your suitcase, that's fine. You know, don't you, that I am yesterday's child whom you consider incompetent in everything. But now, I have taken over all the casinos you own, even the nightclubs under your assets are now in the hands of a Marco Jovanka," said Marco, making Lemos stare at him.
"Where are your subordinates? Why did I pay all your subordinates a high price if you let this man stay alive in this room? Finish him off and leave no trace," said Mr. Lemos, making Massimo look at Marco with his sharp gaze, as if he were a tiger ready to pounce at any moment. However, with just a movement of Marco's hand, Massimo stopped.
"Now your master is not him. I know people like you only obey the orders of your master, and I know that for the past month, Mr. Lemos hasn't been paying you enough. That means he has been playing around with the money around you just for his own pleasure. So, I emphasize, it's better for you to switch masters or be buried and decay with him," said Marco, who not only seemed adept at seizing all of Lemos's assets but also adept at playing words to influence his subordinates.
"Massimo, what are you waiting for? Quickly, finish him off, and also finish off all the subordinates in this casino. I'm sure he has brought a group of his subordinates," Lemos said again, making Marco shake his head.
"You're mistaken. I don't need to bring many subordinates to handle you. Just one subordinate and the stack of papers in front of you are enough for me. Besides, everything in this casino is already mine. So, I want this special room to be removed right now. Make it just for storing my wine collection," said Marco as he stood up from his seat, making Lemos clench his fists.
"Who are you trying to change what I've built from scratch? Instead of continuing to dream, you'd better leave this casino before I drag you out by force," said Lemos, making Marco shake his head as he stood.
"You should be the one to leave. Don't you know how many mistakes you've made in those documents? Do you think all the wealth you have won't run out after you start selling them one by one, and you end up selling them to the wrong people? You are also involved in debts and crimes, and taking over this casino is not difficult for me to expose everything. So, be prepared. I give you two options. You can escape right now, or wait for the police whom I have already called to be here," said Marco, making Lemos grumble in frustration as he pushed away the women who had been accompanying him, his panicked face visible.
"Massimo, come with me. You surely wouldn't want to work under someone who has betrayed your master, right?" Lemos asked, making Marco shrug nonchalantly, as if he didn't care if someone named Massimo wanted to work with him. However, it was too late; even though Marco gave Lemos the option to escape, the police had already arrived at the scene and would easily ambush him.
