Chapter 108
Marco then immediately stopped his car right in front of the large house. He entered and met Desi.
"Where is Letta? Is she asleep already?" Marco asked, making Desi nod.
"Miss is still awake, Sir," Desi replied, making Marco furrow his brow.
"Did she ask about me?" Marco asked again.
"This afternoon, after Miss woke up from her nap, she immediately asked about you and when you usually come home. I just answered that you're irregular coming back to this house due to your busy schedule. Until the evening, Miss was still waiting, and occasionally strolled in the garden. Even a few minutes ago, when I brought warm water for Miss, she still asked about your return,” Desi said, making Marco nod his head.
"Alright, then I will go to meet her immediately," Marco said, quickly climbing the stairs to go to their room. Slowly, Marco reached out his hand and saw Letta sitting on the balcony. Marco furrowed his brow and immediately walked quickly. Even though it was past 10:00 p.m., Letta was sitting without wearing thick clothing in the open air. Marco went out and saw Letta sitting with her eyes closed.
Is she sleeping? Thought Marco. He immediately bent down and looked at Letta's face up close. Letta looked peaceful in her sleep, her breathing regular. Marco looked around, the weather was quite cold. However, Letta was sleeping without wearing a thick jacket or a blanket covering her shoulders. She was only wearing sleepwear and a scarf wrapped around her neck. Marco finally reached out his hand and gently stroked Letta's face.
"Letta, wake up. Why are you sleeping here?" Marco said, making Letta furrow her brow in her sleep. But it seemed she was reluctant to open her eyes. Marco finally pulled the chair behind him and shifted it to sit right beside his wife. Marco let out a long breath before reaching out his hand again.
"Letta, wake up," Marco said again. This finally made Letta slowly open her eyes. Her cute behavior, like a little child just awakened, made Marco tug at the corner of his lips.
"You're back?" Letta asked, making Marco nod his head.
"What time is it?" Letta asked again.
"It's already past 10:00 p.m. You yourself, what are you doing outside the room in this cold air and only wearing thin clothes? What if you catch a cold later?" Marco said, pulling Letta's scarf closer.
"Initially, I was just going to sit for a while waiting for you, but you didn't come back. The gentle breeze made my eyes heavy, and I didn't realize I had closed my eyes and fallen asleep," Letta said, causing Marco to only tug at the corner of his lips. Marco got up from his seat and reached out his hand, causing Letta to look at her husband's large palm.
"We should go inside soon, the weather is getting colder, and it's already very late at night," Marco said, making Letta finally reach for her husband's hand and walk back into the room with the warm air enveloping her body. After entering the room, Letta realized how cold the air was outside. Marco took off the jacket he had been wearing earlier, while Letta observed her husband's movements.
"Why did you come home so late tonight? Is it like this every day?" Letta asked, making Marco glance at her briefly before taking off his wristwatch and placing it on the table.
"Yes, sometimes like this, but sometimes I manage to come home earlier if I am out late. But from now on, I will try to come home on time according to office hours," Marco said, making Letta nod her head.
"Are you going to take a shower?" Letta asked, causing Marco to stop his movement before nodding.
"Let me prepare it. You just rest. Didn't you say you were sleepy earlier?" Letta said, making Marco smile and approach her.
"You don't need to prepare warm water, you don't need to bring anything, and I have already had dinner outside. It's better for you to lie down in bed and rest," Marco said, making Letta look at him with a pouting expression. "I have rested all day. I walked in the park, read books, ate the food I wanted, watched TV, but what I haven't done is something to serve you," Letta said enthusiastically. Marco was slightly taken aback by her eager expression. "You can do it after I clean up. So for now, just wait. It won't be long," Marco said, making Letta heave a long sigh.
"Alright, then," Letta replied, finally complying after seeing Marco's smile. She turned around and walked towards the bathroom. Letta sat by the bedside, looking at the stack of books on her desk. She picked up one of the books she hadn't finished reading since earlier in the afternoon, as suggested by Marco.
While waiting for her husband, Letta began to read the book page by page. The book seemed very intriguing, causing Letta to get carried away, until she finally slammed the book shut, her face flushing. The novel seemed to contain romantic scenes between the main characters and their partners, making Letta fan her flushed face.
Once she had calmed down, Letta realized that they had never done such things, only receiving touches and a few kisses. Her heart raced, and her breath felt rapid. She playfully hit her head in frustration.
"Come on, Letta, what are you thinking, seriously!" Letta exclaimed, placing the book back on the table. She took a glass of water from the nightstand and gulped it down. However, her face still felt flushed. Letta then took a step to open the bedroom window slightly, feeling the refreshing cool air on her face.
Letta hoped the redness in her cheeks would disappear before Marco came out of the bathroom. However, her mind suddenly filled with dirty thoughts, making her feel panicked. Letta was slightly startled when the bathroom door opened, revealing Marco drying his hair. She fell silent as her husband approached, hearing the alarm sounding within her. It was a sign that she had to stay alert, especially when she saw how Marco's captivating smile and his hand movements as he dried his wet hair. Letta's attempts to get rid of the flush on her face seemed to have failed, as she could feel her face growing warmer as Marco's steps drew closer.
