Chapter To save 7

Chapter 7

Fabian was speechless under the questioning.

Like a zombie, he numbly let Bruce shove him into the car.

He knew in his heart but had been unwilling to believe it.

It had been five days since I went missing.

During these five days, I hadn’t called or sent a single message.

In the past, even if I never received a reply, I would repeatedly message him without complaint.

Bruce drove the car to the hospital where my body was being kept. As soon as the car stopped, he yanked Fabian out.

He dragged Fabian all the way to the morgue

He shoved Fabian with force, his tone extremely harsh.

“Go on, see how your wife died!”

Fabian staggered to my body.

He tightly gripped the white cloth covering me but still didn’t have the courage to lift

  1. it.

Bruce looked at his cowardly appearance with disdain, unrelentingly stepping forward to help him uncover it.

Fabian swayed and fell to his knees before me.

He covered his face in pain, trembling as he spoke.

“How could this be? How could Lucy die?”

Bruce slapped him across the face.

“How dare you ask why! Lucy couldn’t swim and was pregnant with your child, yet you threw her off the boat.

“Fabian, you’re a goddamn beast!”

Fabian, usually calm and composed, couldn’t help but break down and cry.

“How could she not swim? I clearly saw her swim back to the shore when she fell into the water with you!”

Bruce laughed scornfully.

“That’s because she’s holding onto the piece of driftwood I gave her!

“She fought so hard to survive, only to be pushed to the edge by the one she loved the

most.

“Ah, by the way, you still don’t know, do you? It was your beloved Miss Layla who pushed us into the sea!”

Fabian looked up, his

eyes flashing with despair.

But he still stubbornly shook his head.

“Layla wouldn’t do something like that. Do you have any evidence?”

Bruce stared at him coldly.

“Your beloved Layla has a pink rose tattoo on her wrist, right?

“That’s the last thing I saw before I fell into the water.”

Fabian struggled to stand up, stumbling over to my side.

Under the pale light, my battered body looked even more terrifying.

Fabian’s trembling hand traced over my wounds.

It finally stopped at my protruding abdomen.

There used to be a tiny heartbeat there, but now it was all silent.

He could no longer hold back, resting his forehead on my abdomen and crying out in pain.

“I’m sorry, Lucy. I couldn’t protect our child. I was wrong, I was really wrong. Can you open your eyes and look at me again?

“Lucy, don’t sleep. Wake up, let me take you home, okay?”

It was quite disgusting.

When I was alive, he didn’t cherish me, and now he pretended to be so deeply emotional.

Even Bruce couldn’t stand it anymore and pushed Fabian away.

“Enough, Lucy has been dead for so many days. Who are you performing for? “Fabian, get out. Lucy wouldn’t want to see you. Don’t dirty her path to a new life!” Fabian mumbled to himself as he was driven out.

“Lucy, it’s not that I don’t love you. I just can’t accept it. I wanted to see if life could have another possibility.

“I never wanted to hurt you. I didn’t even think about leaving you. I thought you’d wait for me forever.”

I felt like I was pierced by a thousand arrows. It turns out he was so unwilling to be with me, while I foolishly thought that my efforts would win his true love.

Unfortunately, it was all just a dream.

And the price of waking from that dream was my
