To My Shattered Soul

Chapter Dream Wedding

It turns out I had a few broken bones, and Doctor said I needed to go through surgeries but there’s no guarantee if I’ll survive after those surgeries, because according to them, I hardly had a cup of blood in my body, generally speaking.

The look on Peter’s face explained how afraid he was to lose me, he was fighting with the staff, and after a lot of consideration, they decided I have less than 48 hours to survive so I pulled Peter close to me.

“Please just let me spend my last day happily… I want to cherish every moment with you all” I begged him.

There wasn’t a second when he wasn’t crying, his throat was hurting when he tried to hold back his tears “What do you want me to do?” He asked as he wiped his tears with his cuff.

“Marry me! Please.” I smiled even though my eyes were burning with tears flooding inside them.

I was in so much pain that I can’t even describe, I wanted to scream so loud that could bring down the sky itself, but I kept it together, it killed me to make him cry.

The only person who only brought smiles, happiness, and love in my life, got nothing from me, but pain and suffering.

I wanted to tell him how much he deserves to be happy, how much I want to give him happiness but I couldn’t so I held onto my tears and held back my pain.

“Please think of it as my last wish… just marry me” I insisted, not just because I wanted to, but because this was the only thing he ever wanted from me.

It wasn’t just broken bones that were killing me, it was the ritual that Jordan performed, and it was doing its work exactly like it was meant to do.

He agreed, and with the help of painkillers, I managed to stay sane. I had broken arm support and my life was literally hanging by a thread, preparations were made already, where we were wedding on Sunday we were going to wed on Saturday instead, and in the evening.

Jill waited for Rehan as he told her to, after a while she opened the door when he walked in with a woman inside, she was tall, she had small dreadlocks and was wearing a black suit with a chain of gold around her neck.

“This is Athena! The woman I told you about on phone!” Rehan introduced her and after greeting them she showed them the way to her bedroom.

“Everything is ready, and we have only a few minutes until Jordan arrives.” Jill stared at the clock hanging on her wall.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” The woman asked.

“This is the least I could do” She had tears in her eyes “I will be happy knowing that she survived even if I couldn’t” Jill was shaking.

As they walked inside her bedroom, Jordan arrived, his car horn blew, and Jill sprinted toward the gate to attend to him.

She was wearing a long red gown with two small braids going from the front of her hair all the way back inside her bun.

She was looking so beautiful and Jordan was left speechless as he saw her remarkable appearance.

She prepared food for him, “I want to tell you something” She said when they were in the middle of their dinner.

“I was afraid… because I just started walking again… so I…” She swallowed wine through her throat forcefully “I… had an operation… I don’t want to have kids right now… this is the reason why I asked you to postpone our wedding! But I am ready to marry you now!” She looked into his eyes.

He stared at her and the glass he was holding literally exploded into millions of pieces, his anger could be seen all over his face.

“You did what?” His anger scared her.

“Hey hey! I was just kidding…” She laughed even though the sweat could be seen all over her forehead.

“Oh, Jill... My love! You scared me” He faked a smile.

“It doesn’t seem like you were scared!” She stared at the blood on his hand.

“I want to spend some quality time with you” She walked close to him and cleaned his hand with a tissue paper.

She touched his hand and kissed him on his cheek, after a long time she got close to him, he was dying to be close to her again.

Since she saw Daisy on the tv she's been avoiding even shaking hands with him and while they were getting together again my father carried me to the aisle, Peter was waiting for me under the gazebo.

It was the time when we were standing face to face, or I could say I was sitting and he was standing face to face.

He bowed down and whispered in my ear “You look so beautiful” He smiled.

We spoke our vows, he couldn’t stop looking at me.

His eyes were stuck on my face as his face got closer to mine, I can say without a doubt that I’ve never witnessed such a beautiful sight, his lashes falling right below his eyes as his eyes squint with a smile on his face, a blow of his breath touched my face and I closed my eyes.

In that moment I felt alive, even though I was on the brink of death, as we kissed, he blew a life inside me and beats to my heart, even though it was just for a moment, and when we parted ourselves that’s when I saw tears slipping down his cheeks.

And at that moment I felt as if someone pulled out my soul from inside my body, I rested my head on his chest, he slightly slipped his fingers in my hair.

And as he pulled my chin up he saw blood flowing out of my mouth, my eyes half open and his coat also had blood on it.

He panicked and everyone rushed toward me, I smiled while I lifted my eyes heavily.

“Listen Peter… Can you do me a favor?” I whispered, he brought his ear closer to my mouth to hear me better.

“I am so proud of you” He wrapped his arms around me “Have I ever told you? How beautiful you look when you smile? Just please keep smiling” I tried to make him smile again but this time I failed.

He carried me as he rushed to the hospital “Promise me.. Promise me you wouldn’t watch a movie where a girl died and his man kept crying for the rest of his life” I whispered on my way to the hospital and giggled then coughed.

He looked at me and chuckled which turned into mopping within just a few seconds.

My chest felt heavier, even breathing felt like keeping a weight on my chest.
