Chapter 19
Gwen looked up to the snickering tall redhead who was walking besides her.
"Nah, if she were one of his brothers or any other male or female for that matter, I definitely would've said yes, but his mate, nope..." a devilish smirk played her lips.
"I'd be more worried about Alpha Dargan, though... I think our new Luna will be in charge from now on, wether he likes it or not..." and gave Gwen a fat wink.
"How so?" Gwen couldn't understand her new friend's relaxed demeanor, surely she'd seen the Alpha's aggressive attitude too?
Was she the only one frightened by his aggressive dementor? Was this the kind of attitude all Quas'qiari males had?
It reminded her of the first time she met Kadi, he had been pretty dominant too, not as aggressive as Alpha Dargan, though...
Gwen shook her head, there were a lot of things she didn't understand about the Qas'qiari.
Mez'ra gave Gwen a pensive look. Most of the new human women were taken in tow by the women who had lived there for a long time. The women had formed their own groups over the years and the newcomers were happy to be welcomed into that warm shelter. But neither Randi nor Gwen belonged in either group, simply because they were both Lunas, it would be highly inappropriate.
Ohh, Mez'ra had no doubts that all the groups would be happy to include the two in their midst, but it wouldn't make sense for either of them. Luna's belonged to the whole pack, not a single group, it would cause a massive separation within the packs.
She should really let this sink in on Gwen, and Randi, of course.
Somehow she wasn't to concerned about Randi, Randi didn't seem to need a group of people around her to feel comfortable.
Gwen, on the other hand was different. Although the woman seemed confident, Mez'ra could feel her insecurity, which was never a good sign.
Mez'ra decided to sit down with the older woman to see how they could be a safety net for the young Luna, because like it or not, a Luna was the heart of a pack.
"Let's go back to the Pack house. I think it would be helpful if I gave you a crash course on basics of the Qas'qiari, and most importantly the men... You are the Luna Gwen of two packs, it is time you realized this. Randi has a natural aggression about her, you don't..."
Gwen wanted to argue but was silenced with a wave of his hand.
"I don't mean to insult you, Luna, and, yes, you may blurt something out quickly and sharply, but I can sense your insecurity and if I can, so can others." Mes'ra put her hand on the smaller woman's shoulder.
"I know you are not Randi, but it is wise to delve into the character traits of the Qas'qiari. If you don't do that, everyone will soon waltz all over you, including your beloved mates." Mez'ra gave the young Luna a genuine smile.
"What do you say if we grab something to eat, get comfortable on the couch and I will enlighten you as much as possible and you can ask me questions afterwards..."
It was difficult not to like the tall red head and Gwen smirked. Mez'ra was right, she had to learn a lot and probably quickly as well.
They gathered some snacks and returned to the Packhouse, settling down on the huge couch in the common living room.
In the old days, Mez'ra thought to herself, when there were still a lot of Qas'qiari women, this was the gathering place of the old pack, the pack of the old Alpha's. Always full of life. She knew it would never be as lively as it had once been, but something told her Randi would do anything to bring unity in this pack.
And she hoped with all her heart that Gwen could bring back the sense of unity in both Kadi's and Ivac's pack as well, there was no doubt in her mind that both packs would merge, now both males were sharing one mate.
Ran and his pack were a different case...
Gradually the day shifted to evening, Gwen breathlessly listened to Mez'ra's stories, only interrupting her every now and then with a question. The sandwiches and coffee they brought along, had been replaced by wine and toast, and the seriousness by giggles and laughter.

As he entered through the back door of his father's Pack house, Kadi heard the chatter and laughter of Mez'ra and his mate, and though he was dead tired, a warm feeling spread throughout his body at the sound of Gwen's voice.
Spending all day trying to figure out who was behind the attacks, his suspicions were gradually confirmed, and he wasn't at all happy with the outcome, to say the least. He'd sent Ivac a message to meet up first, he wanted to share his findings with his brother, before handing it over to his fathers.
But now, standing in the doorway looking at his mate's flustered face thanks to the wine she was drinking, hearing her laughter, there was something else he wanted to do, before anything else. Thinking about his brothers arousal last night, Kadi doubted Ivac would be so hesitant tonight.
"Looks like you guys are having a good time because the bottle of wine is empty..." And with one hand leaning on the back of the couch, Kadi jumped and landed with a thud next to his mate.
Gwen's face turned even redder as he took her chin in his hand and kissed her unabashedly and extensively in front of Mez'ra. Who in turn couldn't contain her laughter.
"Do you have something to drink for me too...?" Another familiar voice came from across the room.
Ivac stood comfortably with his shoulder against the door frame and surveyed the small crowd. The intense kiss between his brother and their mate had not left him unmoved, and he felt his own excitement building, his pants felt suddenly very tight.
The smell of excitement in the two men had not escaped Mez'ra, and she stood up with a big grin.
"I think I'll go home. See you tomorrow Gwen! And gentlemen..., are you going to be careful with our new Luna? It would be a shame if she couldn't sit down in a car tomorrow to see the rest of the area..." And with a big wink at Gwen, she took off.
Meanwhile, Ivac had taken a seat on Gwen's other side and took her face from his brother and, like Kadi, kissed their mate extensively, while Kadi took a firm hold on one of her breasts meanwhile licking the crook of her neck.
Though the wine had loosened her up a bit, Gwen felt uncomfortable.
Both men felt her hesitation and stopped what they were doing.
"Just like yesterday, we won't do anything you don't want to, Gwen..." Ivac kept her face slightly away from her or to look at her.
Gwen took a deep breath, the kiss taking her breath away.
"No, it's not... I...um..., what if Randi and your fathers come in? I don't know..."
And before she knew it, two big, strong arms had swooped her up and she was lying in Kadi's arms.
"Why didn't you just say so... We have a bedroom, remember..." And with this he turned to his brother with a devilish grin.
"Next time brother, take your tongue out of her mouth, it's easier for her to talk..." His words earned him as slap to the back of his head by his smirking brother
With large strides Kadi rushed up the stairs, bringing their mate into the security of their bedroom.
