Chapter 8
DENISE
With Brandon leading the way, we began our journey to his pack.
My steps were slow compared to his as I took the time to process my thoughts and get used to everything that was happening so fast. I was barely given a chance to get used to it all, my new reality hitting me headfirst.
More often that not, I found myself sneaking glances at Brandon. His eyebrows were furrowed the entire time, making me wonder what could be going on in his head. Just like me, was he contemplating his every decision? Or had he accepted his fate easily?
Multiple sighs escaped my lips throughout our walk. One thing was certain though, compared to me, Brandon’s decisions weren’t impulsive. He seemed to have been searching for me and that meant he always had a plan. To find me. And then take me to his pack as his mate.
My heartbeat raced at the thought of me starting a new life. Not to get ahead of myself but I could already imagine being introduced to the members of his pack as his mate. I hoped they were all going to be nice people and accept me with open arms. Then maybe I could finally believe everything happening was just fate’s little way of testing me.
“Um, hello,” I spoke up as we seemed to finally approach a more lively area. “Brandon!”
“Yes!” He turned to face me for the first time in a long while. “Did you call for me?”
“Yes,” I nodded, immediately looking away to avoid his intense gaze. “Um, where are we going?”
“I thought I made that clear already,” he replied me. “My pack,”
“Yes but I muttered. “Where exactly are we going? Also, who are you!”
“Your mate.”
“What else?” I dared to ask. “I barely know you and I don’t think you know me too. Isn’t all of these happening a bit too fast?”
He stopped in his tracks and let out a deep exhale, immediately turning to walk towards me. Taken aback by his sudden movements. I quickly took a step away from him, afraid of our skins getting in contact.
“I am Brandon Frost, the Alpha Prince of the Silver Moon Pack,” he introduced himself to me all over again. “And like I said already, I am taking you to my palace. None of these is happening too fast. You are my rightful mate and we share a bond remember?”
I nodded in response and no other words were exchanged between us until we arrived at his palace. My thoughts pattern had finally changed though as I was now interested in the fact that my mate was an Alpha Prince. At least we now had one other thing in common–being of royalty descent.
“This is my palace.”

My eyes widened as I stared at the building in front of me, awe gripping me. It was a mansion and in my twenty–one years biggest mansion I’d ever laid my eyes on
It stood majestically, its architecture a proof to luxury and royalty. It screamed wealth and riches and if I’d ever doubted his position as Alpha Prince, it was more than enough reason for me to believe him.
“Wow,” I had to comment to him. “It’s huge. And amazing-
“Wait till you get in,” he smirked at me and resumed walking, having me immediately quicken my steps towards him. “Come, I’ll show y room you’ll be staying in ”

My heart took a leap at the thought of having a room to myself once again. It wasn’t supposed to be considered a privilege but after Sage stripped me of that basic right, it suddenly felt like one.
Probably out of pure coincidence, the hallways were empty as we walked through, Brandon guiding me. I could spot dozens of doors leading to various rooms, making me wonder which one of them was going to belong to me. From all corners of the mansion, light bulbs were scattered, coupled with a lightening from the huge chandelier hung on the ceilings to create a soft glow and give the mansion a warm ambience.
Barely having my y fill from the little tour, we finally approached a room I could immediately guess was mine. With a quick glance at me, the door open and took a step in, holding the door to help me in.

It was a spacious room adorned with lavish furnishings. The bed was huge and I could already imagine myself having the most comfortable rest i’d

“It’s amazing.”
“You should get settled in,” he said to me, “I had the room prepared just for you so feel free. This is your new home?”
“Oh, thank you,” I breathed out to him, giving the room another quick tour. “Thanks”
“You must have had an exhausting day,” he clicked his tongue and gestured at me to walk in further into the room. “Il leave you to get refreshed then. Everything you could ever need is in the room but in case you need something else, you can call for me. Excuse me then.”
What!
“Brandon,” I quickly called out to him before he could turn to leave me alone in the room. “Are you leaving?”
He arched an eyebrow at me, his expression a bit unreadable. “And if I am?”
I furrowed my brow in response, confused for a while. He was leaving He couldn’t just leave like that! Fine the room was great but was I just supposed to sit in it and do nothing!
I was in an unknown park, an unknown mansion and an unfamiliar room. The only person and thing I felt connected to was him so he couldn’t just leave me alone again, could he?
“What next?” I voiced out to him. I was probably sounding a bit too desperate but at that moment I couldn’t care any less. I was indeed desperate. “What happens next?”
“What?” He seemed surprised by my question.
“If you leave me alone, I continued. “I mean, if you leave the room now. What am I supposed to do! just sit and stare into space? |—
My words were cut short as I spotted a smug smile appear on his face. It was more of a smirk, leaving me all fuzzy and puzzled

you want me to stay in the room with you?”
“What I almost stuttered. That’s not what I’m saying. I mean-
“Alright,” he interrupted me once again but this time, by taking steps towards me. Like it was magic, I froze and allowed him move closer towards me until there was only little distance between us. “I know you probably want me to stay but you should rest for today.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll be taking you somewhere tomorrow,” he breathed out. “It would be an eventful day so before then, get some rest. I’ll come for you tomorrow.” And with that, he turned to leave the room, not uttering even a single extra word to me.
