Chapter 134: The Confrontation
Kane POV
I watched as my father’s Jaw tightened, his brows furrowing deeper with each passing moment we sat at the table in the dining room waiting for everyone to get here. He had been silent but the mood in the room was anything but calm. Knox sat beside me practically vibrating with nerves. Without a word, I reached out and placed a calming hand on his kneo, halting his anxious bouncing.
I understood his pain. I could feel him searching the mate bond for our girl, and like me, he found It empty and lonely without her. Although I could sense it hadn’t been severed like last time, only muted, it didn’t ease the wrenching pain in my gut at the loss of her. I needed this sh it over with and quickly, so I could get to the matter at hand; hunting the ba sta rd that took her from me and killing him.
Slowly!
“You’re making the table shake!” I whispered to Knox,
squeezing his leg as two of the Sparrow Brothers, Adam and Liam, strode in, flanked by Anthony and Mike, bound and silenced. Despite their restraints, the two men still bore the marks of a severe beating. It made me grin with satisfaction, seeing them in such a state. A chuckle left my lips hearing Knox emit a low growl

when Mike was seated at the table close to him.
“He is up to something.” Knox announced through mindlink, his eyes fixed on Sebastian as he trailed behind them, looking worse for wear, his eyes avoiding mine and Knox’s purposely. I watched Sebastian take a seat at the far end of the table, his demeanour sour. With a silent nod, I found myself agreeing with my brother.
“Well, it’s about da mn time!” My mother snapped as she waltzed into the room, with Lilly in tow. With her usual kiss to our foreheads, she greeted Knox and I, before her gaze landed on
Anthony’s battered face, and she gasped in shock at the sight of
her friend’s condition.
“What the… What happened?” She demanded, her voice taut with restrained anger.
“Just a little chat. Nothing you need to worry about, Luna.” Adam shrugged casually as he headed for the door, Liam hanging back, his eyes fixed on Knox and I.
“Yeah, just some friendly persuasion, Ma.” I grinned slowly, tugging on my mother’s arm to get her attention, spotting my father’s grip tightening on the edge of the table, his knuckles turning white. “Come sit.”
“Friendly? This looks anything but friendly, you imbercles!” She snapped, pulling her arm away, but there was no harshness in her tone. Sebastian, however, remained silent, his gaze fixed on the

table in front of him, his expression unreadable. I could sense the tension thickening in the air, each of us bracing for what was to come.
“Sit down, Laura,” Alpha Leigh commanded, his tone firm as he gestured to an empty chair beside him, indicating for the family meeting to commence. Ma’s shock was noticeable as she hesitantly took her seat, her eyes wide with disbelief.
“Are you for real?” she blurted out incredulously, her gaze flickering between Alpha Leigh and the Sparrow brothers. “Have you seen your beta? Who could have done this?” Her voice
quivered with a mixture of concern and anger. I opened my mouth to explain, feeling the weight of this whole mess drowning me, but Adam and Liam exchanged a knowing glance before answering in unison and cutting anything I had to say off.
“Us, Luna.”
“Why?” she demanded, her voice sharp as she locked eyes with the Sparrow brothers, seeking answers. The revelation seemingly sent a surge of fury through my mother, her features twisting with
rage.
But Adam and Liam remained silent, their expressions
unreadable as they turned their attention to me, awaiting my permission to speak. I met their gaze briefly before shaking my head, indicating that they should keep silent for now. As much as I wanted to get the show on the road and get everything laid out on

the table, so we could find a way to save Charlotte, it was my father’s place to start this meeting, not mine.
“Someone best start talking!” My mother groaned, her frustration mounting. “Kane Maddox, So help me goddess, you are not too old to be put over my knee, young man!” I sighed as she turned her attention to me and Knox, her voice trembling with emotion. Pursing my lips, I said nothing, ignoring the giggles coming from Lilly, who sat beside Sebastian smugly.
“Anthony is your mate’s father, for Luna’s sake, Kane! He should be respected if nothing else. There’s no excuse for this! You see that, right Knox?” Her eyes darted around the room, noticing the absence of our mate. “Where’s Lottie?” she demanded, her concern for her daughter-in-law evident in her voice.
“Being a slu t!” Lilly interjected far too happily, my hand that rested on my brother’s knee tightened, feeling the muscles in his legs tighten with anger.
“Lilliah!” Ma snapped, her tone sharp and harsh. “Put your bit ch back in her box please, and control your jealousy! It’s hardly very becoming for a princess, is it!” My mother scolded her daughter, my lips curling, seeing my little sister’s features darken with
embarrassment before her stubbornness won out and she continued.
“I am not jealous! And I am not lying! She had another man in her room. A blonde freak! He barged into my room this morning

demanding Char’s stuff. He was an a sshole. When I confronted him and Char he slammed the door in my face.”
“Chase? Blonde hair, baby blues, about so tall?” Liam laughed, motioning above his head.
“Yes! That’s him!” Lilly snorted, turning to face the table again, her arms crossed over her chest, her attitude palpable.
“Trust me, Chase ain’t sleeping with Charlotte.” Liam contradicted, his eyes locked on Sebastian even as he addressed Lilly, making me wonder what had happened between the three of them on his way to the table to sour his mood.
“How do you know that? I guess he was far too handsome for Char, I mean, she always was the runt of the litter.” Lilly laughed, sitting back in her chair.
“Careful sister!” I warned. I could feel Knox through our bond, his anger almost boiling over, threatening to spill into the room in the form of bedlam. But I had a feeling Liam was about to put Lilly and her mate in their place and voice the words I had suspected, since witnessing the way they had taken to our little mate.
“They are no threat, and our mate is no sl ut.” Knox slowly replied, his words filled with malice even as he fought to keep his anger in check.
“Because Chase doesn’t do incest.” Liam announced,

unbothered by the bombshell he was dropping into the room.
“What?” Lilly asked, spinning in her chair to glare at Liam, who was leaning up against the door, a smile licking at his lips.
“Because Charlotte is his sister!” I broadcast into the silent room. My eyes locked on Sebestian’s stony face, wanting to judge his response to my words.
“Was that wise?” Knox cut through my mind as Sebastian processed the realisation that he knew that he was not the sole heir to the Lycan throne and that our mate held a stronger claim, a storm brewed within him.
糖
“I guess we will find out!” I replied while I observed the fury building in his eyes, his jaw clenching as he struggled to contain. his rage. With a sudden movement, he rose from his seat, his posture rigid as he squared up to Liam, Instead of me. Liam met his glare with a smug expression, unbothered by the prince’s anger, he was unnervingly calm amidst the brewing chaos.
Sebastian’s anger radiated off him in waves, his fists clenched at his sides, ready for confrontation. With a sharp intake of breath, my voice cut through the tension in the room.
“Sit down, Sebastian!” I barked, my tone commanding, fueled by a mixture of exasperation and anger. My words hung in the air, echoing in the sudden silence that fell over the room. “Given what SHE has sacrificed to save your pompous as s, I suggest you sit

“Enough!” he roared, his eyes blazing with intensity as he demanded order. “Everyone, sit the hell down!” Finally, my father broke his silence, his voice booming with authority as he intervened, his patience wearing thin amidst the escalating mess.
His words carried a weight that could not be ignored,
compelling us all to heed his command as we reluctantly resumed our seats, the tension in the air still tangible but momentarily subdued.
“Kane, Knox start at the beginning… please!” He requested, his tone still filled with tension as he and everyone else braced
themselves for what I had to say.
