The Witch's Pirate! (Book 1)

Chapter Chapter Eleven: I'm So Sorry

Bayou

The plan worked, we had finally managed to get that blasted compass. I was happy, even though we were running for our lives. Crystal was next to me, looking back to see if the others were still behind us. We suddenly came to an abrupt stop, as we finally reached my ship. My eyes narrowed when the dark skies turn darker.

“Oi Capt... There’s a storm approaching.” I heard. I looked up at my ship to see Shawn looking down at us.

“Set sail then.” I grasped Crystal’s hand, and pulled her, but she suddenly stopped and pointed behind us.

“We can’t leave, look,” Crystal gasped out. I turned to see Captain Jones nearly reaching us. He was atop a white horse.

“Poor thing!”

“Captain Jones?” I asked, surprised by her sudden words. She shook her head.

“No, the horse, his back should be killing him for holding that pig.” Her words caused me to laugh. Then I heard a gunshot.

“Just great!” I grunted, I took out my pistol and pointed it at him once again.

“This time, I won’t miss.” I closed one eye and aimed at his head.

“No, no killing,” Crystal took a hold of my arm, making my hand lower. That pissed me off, and I glared at her.

“Never touch a pirate’s pistol.” I hissed, but she shook her head.

“I have an idea, please, no more killing,” Her green eyes looked desperate.

“Has to be one hell of an idea, if not I will punish you.” I was mad. Mad that I couldn’t finish Jones off. She’d had no right to cover me. Crystal nodded and took my pistol. She pointed the pistol upwards, and clumsily fires, which caused everyone to stop in their tracks. I glanced at her, as she adjusted her hat backward and pointed my pistol straight at Jones.

Then, as soon as they got closer, Crystal yelled out.

“Don’t move one inch.”

“So you send your witch to do your dirty work, isn’t that low, even for a bloody, murderous pirate like you.” Captain Jones laughed, pointing his pistol at her. My heart tightened.

“I told you not to move one inch,” she barked out.

“And what? Graze me with the bullet? You’re a wench, you don’t have the guts. Do you even know how dark Captain Bayou is?” he suddenly said.

“Don’t care, and you are trying my patience.” She clicked my pistol. Captain Jones started to laugh along with his crew.

“Then do it, don’t hesitate, your Captain didn’t earlier, he never gives chances to anyone.”

I moved a bit and grasped my sword away from Crystal’s hand. She was shaking. I pointed my sword at Captain Jones.

“I won’t hesitate.”

I threw my sword straight at him, only to hear a gun fire from Crystal. I looked with wide eyes when the bullet hit my flying sword and dropped down, before hearing Crystal hiss.

“This time, I won’t miss,” she promised.

I turned to see my own pistol pointed straight at me. My heart jumped at the sudden twist of action.

“Love?” I asked, surprised at her actions. She smirked at me and tilted her head.

“I’m so sorry!”

Then she opened fire.
