Chapter 31: Let me out!
Bayou
“The Shadow keeper?” everyone stared at the elder, as though she just mentioned she was the Queen of the lands or something along those terms.
“Don’t worry, I won’t let it come to you, it sleeping soundly. Now please do rest, tomorrow will be a long day.” The elder stood up, I did the same and wrapped my arm around my stomach, wincing in pain.
“What about the map? Where can we find it?” I asked.
“Didn’t I say it will appear when it’s time, but I can give you a hint, a blind person can always lead the way.”
With that, the elder moved away from us, heading toward a narrow hallway down on her right.
“A blind person can always lead the way. What in the world does that mean?” Belle asked, looking up at me. I shrugged at her.
“Don’t know, but tomorrow morning we head back.” I turned, heading toward the room, in doing so, the door slowly opened, to reveal Crystal. Her green eyes stared at me, her hand fist
“You’re going to return me without my consent?” She asked me in a tight tone.
“Aye, I told you, and that’s final.” I walked to head toward the room, but Crystal stretched out her arms out blocking my way.
“I won’t leave, remember we are tied, and I want to stop that king. You won’t take me back, how can I face my family knowing this? Knowing that I can die at any moment? Didn’t you even think of how I feel?”
“You feel scared, is all I know, and I will return you.” I moved again, but Crystal stretched out her arm and pushed my shoulder, causing me to hiss and gave her a mad look.
“I’m not in the mood the be arguing with you,” I growled.
“Me either, but I won’t leave, that’s final." she place her foot down, determination crosses her eyes.
“I think you should let her be Bayou, she has your powers, if you train her right, she can protect herself.” I heard Max emphasize. I turned to face him.
“Oh joy, everything is fixed by that solution.” I bitterly spat, turning and head in, but Crystal grasped my arm and spun me again.
“I won’t leave, and I will make sure that I stick with you, until the very end.” I just ignored her and pulled away.
“Go to sleep, love. Nothing will change my mind, my words are final.”
With that, I entered the room and slammed the door hard, causing Crystal and Belle to jump in fright. I ran my hands over my face and glanced up at the dark ceiling.
“I shouldn’t have brought her into my world, but she’s right.” I sigh, as I grasp my stomach slowly walking towards the window, to look outside. A slight goosebumps ran down my spine, causing me to shiver.
‘Crystal, Crystal, well isn’t she an interesting woman. She’s shaking you isn’t she? Let me out, and I promise to tame her.’ I heard a deep dark voice echoing in the back of my head. I hiss a little, touching my head.
“Shut up! I shut you out long ago.” I answered it. I can hear myself laugh, causing me to fist my hand, as I stretch my body forward, and leaned against the platform of the window, ignoring my pain.
“You can’t never shut me up, remember Bayou, I’m just a shadow of yourself, and sooner or later I shall get out, and I will finish what we started long ago, and I will tame that woman. Somehow, she has peeked my interest, like no other woman has ever done to me. You will let me out sooner or later because you can’t hide me!” with that, I can’t hear anything else, but a deep silence that gave me an eerie feeling and I didn’t like it.
“I will never let you out again. I do promise you that.”
