Chapter 55 The Urn

Ray’s voice came through again: “Miss Sally? Are you listening?”

Sally’s tears fell uncontrollably.

She trembled as she picked up the phone and choked out, “How did Gale die? Are you joking?

Ray’s voice was filled with sorrow: “Miss Sally, Gale’s condition. suddenly worsened… There was nothing anyone could do. I’m

handling his final arrangements. Gale asked me to give you his ashes.

Ray finished speaking and hung up.

Sally stared blankly out the window and soon broke into a heart- wrenching cry.

How could this happen…

How could Gale die?

Gale had said that once he recovered, he would be with her forever. Why did he die so suddenly?

Sally felt as if all the blood in her body had frozen.

She sat in her room, dazed for a long time, finally deciding to go to the hospital.

She couldn’t believe Gale was really dead!

The more Sally thought about it, the sadder she became. She quickly washed up in the bathroom and, without eating breakfast, hurriedly took a taxi to the hospital.

When she arrived at the hospital entrance, the two bodyguards who had been guarding the door were no longer there.

If the Bodyguards were not at the door, it meant that Gale was really

Sally couldn’t accept this temible nege She stumbled into Gale’s former ward, and when she saw the nurse tidying the bed sheets, she felt her breath stop

“Nurse.” Sally, with red eyes, asked, “Where is the person who was in this room? Where did he go?”

The nurse frowned: “Do you mean Mr. Gale?”

Yes.” Sally’s voice was so soft she could barely hear herself.

The nurse replied plainly, “Mr. Gale passed away early this morning.

The word “passed away” shattered Sally’s emotional defenses!

She couldn’t hold back any longer and collapsed onto the cold floor.

The nurse saw Sally crying bitterly and helped her up from the ground.

“Miss, you don’t have to be too sad,” the nurse comforted, “Everyone has their fate.”

But Sally couldn’t stop her tears.

The nurse left with the bed sheets, and Sally continued to sit on the

floor, crying.

She never imagined Gale would leave this world so easily!

They had been talking and laughing just the other day, but the bad news came so quickly!

Sally left the hospital in a daze.

She was utterly lost.

Her family and friends were all leaving her one by one, and she was powerless to stop it.

Sally felt incredibly lonely

She was only twenty four, so young, yet it felt like she had lived a lifetime

All the bad things were happening to her.

Why had Lady Luck never smiled upon her?

Why did God make her endure so much hardship at such a young age?

The more Sally thought about it, the more desperate she felt.

Just then, her phone rang.

It was Austin calling.

As soon as Sally answered, Austin’s voice came through: “Miss Sally, I regret to inform you of something.”

Sally thought Austin was going to tell her about Gale’s death, so she held back her tears and said, “I… I already know.”

Austin noticed something odd in Sally’s tone and asked, “Ah… you already know?”

Sally said, “Yes.”

Austin felt even more guilty: “I’m really sorry, Miss Sally… It’s all

Anders’s fault. Even though my company signed a contract with you, he forced me to break it for Mary’s sake…”

Sally was stunned: “What?”

She had thought Austin was talking about Gale, but it was about the

contract…

Sally’s breath hitched.

“What did Anders say?” Sally forced herself to stay upright.

Austin said, “What else could he say… you know, that guy is

hopelessly in love. He forced me to break the contract with you for that wretched woman Mary

Sally understood what Austin meant

“So, that guy wants Mary to be the model for the ad, right?” Sally’s voice suddenly calmed down.

Yes. Austin sounded apologetic, But don’t worry, Miss Sally. I won’t let you suffer any loss. As compensation, I’ll transfer some money to your account later for your trouble and emotional distress.”

Sally slowly closed her eyes: “Okay.”

Austin then hung up.

Sally felt her legs go weak.

She had worked hard to compete for the ad model to make Gale happy. Now that Gale was gone, the competition no longer seemed important.

But thinking of Gale’s death still brought her immense pain.

Sally wandered back to her place. Just outside the door, she saw Ray, dressed in black, holding an urn, waiting for her..

Seeing the urn in Ray’s hands, Sally felt her heart shatter.

“Sally,” Ray said, “you’re finally back.”

Sally ran to him, crying, and Ray solemnly handed the urn to her.

“These are Gale’s ashes. He specifically asked me to give them to you,

Ray said, his eyes reddening.

Sally looked at the urn in her hands and broke down in tears.

Ray sighed and said, “Miss Sally, Gale said before he died that he hoped you would live well. He truly loved you. Since he couldn’t be with you in this life, he hoped to be with you in the next.”

Ray finished speaking and left, deeply saddened.

Sally cried as she opened the door to her apartment.

As she was about to close the door, a slender, beautiful figure. suddenly blocked her and forced her way in.

Seeing it was Mary, Sally felt her hair stand on end!

“What are you doing here?” Sally glared at Mary.

Mary glanced at the urn in Sally’s hands and feigned surprise: “Oh my God! Sister, what is that? It looks like an urn!”

Sally nearly ground her teeth to dust.

“Mary, I just want to ask you one thing. Was Gale’s death your doing?” Sally glared at Mary.

Mary shrugged, “Sister, what nonsense are you talking about? Gale is dead? When did that happen?”

“Stop pretending!” Sally screamed, “Mary, you’re a monster! Gale was your brother. How could you do

this? Are you even human?”

Seeing Sally’s breakdown, Mary dropped the act: “Sally, how does it feel to see everyone around you leave one by one? Haha…”

Sally put down the urn and grabbed the ashtray from the table, hurling

it at Mary!

Mary agilely dodged it!

The ashtray shattered a vase on the shelf!

Mary looked at the mess and sneered: “Sally, is this all you can do? Hahaha…”

Sally’s face turned pale.

Mary’s arrogance grew: “I told you before, don’t show up in front of

me or try to take anything from me. peaceful life, but you ruined it all you
