Chapter the Wife 49
Chapter 49 The Promise
Suddenly, a luxury car pulled up!
It was Anders‘ car!
Sally momentarily forgot to breathe, and the van, upon seeing Anders‘ car, quickly turned around and drove away!
“Gale! Gale!” Sally cried as she rushed to Gale’s side.
Gale was covered in blood. Sally held him, almost fainting from her tears.
Anders frowned deeply. He first called an ambulance and then walked towards Gale.
Safly sobbed uncontrollably, afraid to move too much in fear of worsening Gale’s severe injuries.
Gale’s face was covered in blood, but his gaze remained fixed on Sally.
“Sally, Sally…” Gale reached out, trying to touch her face. Sally quickly grabbed his hand and pressed it against her cheek. “I’m here, I’m here. Gale, hold on a little longer, the ambulance will be here soon.”
Gale continued to stare at Sally with effort.
“Sally, Sally…” Gale said, “Am I going to die?”
“No, no…” Sally cried bitterly, “Gale, you’re just injured. When the
ambulance arrives, you’ll be fine…”
Tears streamed down Gale’s face. “Sally… if I survive, will you be with me?”
“What?” Sally was stunned.
Gale forced a smile. “You still don’t want to… I was being presumptuous.”
As he was about to close his eyes, Sally quickly said, “I will!”
Gale looked at her in shock.
Sally looked into his eyes and said earnestly, “Gale, I promise you, I
Anders coldly looked at her pale, beautiful face. “Were you serious about what you said to Gale?”
Sally turned her face away. “It’s none of your business.”
Anders finally lost his patience. “Don’t forget who your husband is! We’re legally married! Do you think you can escape my grasp?”
Hearing him say “legally married,” Sally couldn’t help but laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” Anders was taken aback.
Sally’s eyes were full of disdain. “Anders, ask yourself, since we got married, have you ever truly treated me as your wife?”
Anders was momentarily speechless.
“Ha…” Sally’s face was full of sarcasm. “See? Even you admit you haven’t treated me as a wife, right?”
“I’ve never met someone as hypocritical as you,” Sally said with a hint of hatred in her voice. “You remind me of my status while being ambiguous with Mary. Don’t you find yourself ridiculous?”
Anders angrily punched the wall beside her. “Shut up!”
“Are you angry?” Sally mocked, “Because what I said is true, right?”
“Anders, I have nothing more to say to you,” Sally laughed. “People like you will never understand, no matter how much I say.”
“Do you think saying this will erase the fact that you’re my wife?” Anders suddenly laughed cruelly. “I tell you, as long as I don’t agree to a divorce, you and that kid will never be together.
“That’s true,” Sally suddenly smiled mysteriously. “But in that case… you and Mary can never be officially married either, right?”
Sally laughed heartily.
However, her laughter was like a sharp blade in Anders‘ eyes.
“Don’t challenge my patience!” Anders was so furious he was about to choke Sally.
Just then, Mary arrived at the hospital
Seeing Mary, Anders let go of Sally.
“Sister…“Mary’s eyes were red, and she looked pitiful as she stood beside Anders and said to Sally, “What’s going on with my brother? Wasn’t he with you? How did he end up in a car accident?”
Mary had done too many dirty deeds. Seeing her, Sally naturally assumed Gale’s accident was Mary’s doing. “Stop pretending! Did you cause Gale’s accident?”
Mary’s face quickly changed, and she cried more pitifully. “Sister… how can you say that? I didn’t do anything.
Sally wanted to strangle Mary.
“Oh? So you’re saying… I caused your brother’s injuries ?” Sally raised an eyebrow.
Mary, with teary eyes, said, “Sister… I know you’ve always been
dissatisfied with me, but don’t you think you’re being too much? First my mother, now my brother…”
Sally laughed. “Didn’t Aunt Jacqueline say your mother woke up in the hospital? Why didn’t you ask her who hurt her?”
Mary’s eyes showed a hint of panic.
Anna indeed woke up, but now… she was in a coma again.
When Jacqueline said Anna woke up, Mary secretly gave her medication, and Anna was now comatose again.
Anders, seeing Mary not respond, assumed she was frightened by Sally’s harsh words.
“Don’t scare Mary,” Anders said coldly. “I tell you, I’ll never let you fulfill the promi u made to Gale.”
