Chapter 33 Family Dinner

Gale didn’t explain much to Sally: he just cheerfully pushed her into his car, “Come on… You’ll see when we get there.”

Sally was confused but didn’t refuse Gale’s Invitation.

Gale drove quickly, and soon he stopped the car in front of a villa complex.

Looking at the row of luxury houses, Sally was stunned. “This… Gale, what is this place?”

Gale smiled and led her out of the car. “This is Anders home.”

“Anders‘ home?” Sally’s face turned pale!

She instinctively wanted to leave, but Gale blocked her way.

“What’s wrong? Why are you running?” Gale grabbed her hand. “Let’s go in!”

Gale then firmly pulled Sally inside.

As soon as they entered the living room, Sally saw Anders and Mary sitting inside.

She hadn’t expected them to be back!

Sally’s heart raced with anxiety.

“Who is this?” A mature–looking man sitting in the living room asked with a smile.

This was Anders‘ elder brother, Henry.

Beside Henry sat a pretty woman, Anders‘ second sister, Linda.

And on the other side of the sofa….

Sally recognized them from the newspapers; they were Anders‘ parents, Andrew and Jacqueline.

There was also a young man in the living room.

He was the same young man Sally had seen earlier.

Gale glanced at the young man and smiled. “James? Long time no see. You’re here to see your cousin, right?”

So, this guy’s name is James.

Sally understood.

Gale liked to hang out with Henry and Linda. Knowing that Linda had returned from abroad, he wanted to join in the fun.

But he had his own motives.

Anders and Sally’s marriage was a secret; his family didn’t know he was already married.

Now, Anders had clearly told his family about his engagement to Mary.

Everyone now thought Anders and Mary would be the future couple.

“Hey, I should be the one saying that!” Linda teased, “Gale, you come to our house so often, you act like you’re the host here.”

Linda’s words were joking, but Mary’s face changed slightly.

“Gale, don’t be rude,” Mary gently reminded him.

Gafe quickly quieted down.

“Miss Sally, you must be more than just a friend, right?” Linda, always witty, looked at Sally and said, ” Wow… She’s so pretty. Gale, is she your girlfriend?”

Sally blushed, and Gale laughed, somewhat admitting Linda’s guess..

“Hmph.” Anders, who had been silent, suddenly sneered.

Linda looked at her brother, puzzled, and said, “Hey, I haven’t been home for years, and you’ve been giving me a hard time the whole time?”

Anders said nothing, just kept his face cold.

Linda was unhappy and was about to scold Anders when Jacqueline stepped in to smooth things over.” Alright, alright, it’s time for dinner. Let’s eat. We have guests today.”

Everyone obediently moved to the dining table.

Gale insisted on sitting with Sally.

Mary had long disliked Sally, but today, for the sake of the occasion and maintaining her image, she kept a polite smile.

Once the dishes were served, Jacqueline smiled and said, “Let’s eat! I made a few dishes myself. Try them.”

Everyone started eating.

Gale, seemingly to irritate Anders, kept serving Sally food and asking Sally to serve him food in return.

Sally wanted to refuse, but remembering Anders‘ earlier humiliation, she felt a mischievous urge.

Sally cheerfully ate the food Gale served her and then served vegetables to Gale’s bowl.

“Gale, try this. It’s delicious,” Sally said with a smile.

Gale was happy to see Sally serving him food.

“How is it?” Jacqueline’s eyes sparkled. “I made those vegetables. Are they good?”

Sally suddenly felt like teasing Gale more, so she served him more vegetables. “If you like it, have some

more.”

At that moment, Anders suddenly slammed the table!

Everyone was shocked.

Anders glared at Gale and Sally with a dark expression

“What are you doing?” Linda, who had a strained relationship with Anders, was instantly annoyed. “Mom made so much food for us. If you don’t help, at least don’t throw a tantrum. If you don’t like it, leave!”

Jacqueline was also upset but didn’t want to scold Anders in front of everyone.
