Chapter the Wife 24
Chapter 24 Auction
Laura shook her head at Sally and said softly, “You should go back and take care of Andy, Sally. I’m fine. I’ll go home now. We’ll meet up another time…”
“Let’s go!” Hannah angrily grabbed Laura’s arm, dragging her away. “Hurry up! You’re carrying a bastard child wait till we get home–I’ll show you!”
In Sally’s shocked gaze, Laura was forcibly taken away by Hannah
So Laura’s baby really wasn’t Jack’s….
Sally wiped her tears and made a firm decision.
If she were lucky enough to save Andy, she would make sure to crush those who bullied them!
Back at her apartment, Sally waited until dawn. But when she called Gale, his phone was still off.
Sally finally felt despair.
Gale must be really busy, not even having time to turn on his phone.
She collapsed onto the sofa, searching through her contacts for anyone who could lend her money. Soon, Sally found a potential contact.
A certain auction house owner.
She had met the owner of that auction house by chance and had saved his contact information. Staring at the phone number, Sally hesitated.
To be honest, she had never considered asking this owner for help, even when Andy was hospitalized. The reason was simple: his auction house was more like a high–end brothel.
Yes, the auction house auctioned off live people–men and women–specifically for the pleasure of the upper class
Sally had always valued her purity. Even though she knew the auction house could connect her with wealthy people, she had never set foot there.
But now, with Andy’s life on the line, Sally couldn’t afford to be proud anymore.
Remembering Anders’s humiliating words, Sally laughed bitterly.
Maybe Anders was right–she was just a lowly woman.
Without hesitating further, Sally called the auction house owner.
Upon hearing Sally’s request, the owner was delighted: “Great! Come tonight! I guarantee you’ll make more money than you ever could in your life!”
Realizing he had misspoken, the owner quickly added, I mean, just come early.”
Sally agreed.
As dusk fell, Sally took a taxi to the auction house.
The owner had instructed his staff to wait for her at the entrance. When they saw her, the guards quickly led her to the dressing room.
The owner, who had met Sally once before, couldn’t help but admit that Sally was the most beautiful

woman he had ever seen, even after encountering countless beauties.
Back then, he had hinted that Sally could meet wealthy men at the auction hous

And now….
Watching Sally apply her makeup, the owner snorted lightly.
but she had firmly
See, deep down, this woman was still after money. What good was her previous pretense of dignity? Now she was willingly coming to the auction house.
An hour later, Sally was finally ready..
Knowing the allure of Sally’s face, the owner had a veil placed on her to boost tonight’s auction price.
“Don’t worry,” the owner said smugly. “With your looks, there’ll be plenty of people wanting to buy you tonight!”
Sally was soon taken to the auction’s backstage area.
By then, the auction hall was already packed.
As the special highlight of the night, Sally would be the last to go on stage.
The owner had spread the word about a stunning beauty being auctioned, drawing an even larger crowd than usual.
At eleven o’clock, it was finally Sally’s turn.
She stood on a platform, which slowly lifted her onto the auction stage!
In the audience, men were already eager.
“Look at that,” a man in a suit leered. “Even with the veil, her body is fantastic!”
Sally stood quietly in the center of the stage, wearing an earpiece and obediently turning as instructed, allowing the audience to see her from all angles.
Meanwhile, in the VIP section, Anders was idly playing with his phone.
“Hey, Anders,” Austin nudged him. “Aren’t you going to look at that woman? She seems pretty hot.”
Anders scoffed, still focused on his phone: “Austin, if you hadn’t just returned to the country, I wouldn’t have bothered coming to a place like this.”
Austin rolled his eyes: “I can’t stand when you say things like that.”
As Sally turned again on the stage, Austin remarked: “I wonder what she looks like under that veil. Usually, they show their faces right away. Why is this one veiled?”
Curious, Anders glanced up and was stunned.
That
figure… looked so much like Sally.
He scrutinized her again.
It couldn’t be mistaken… it was her!
Sally, clearly out of place, followed the staff’s instructions awkwardly.
Noticing Anders’s reaction, Austin teased: “See? I told you! This one’s a real gem. Even you’re interested, haha.”
Anders clenched his phone, feeling a surge of anger.

How desperate was she for money to come here and sell herself?
Thinking of her son, Anders grew even angrier.
This wretched woman!
Did she care so much about Andy, that bastard, that she would degrade herself like this?
The owner, standing by with a microphone, smiled: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is the sexy enchantress 1 mentioned… What do you think?”
Men in the audience cheered: “How much is she starting at?”
The owner, feigning mystery, said: “Fifty million!”
Fifty
fifty?”
million?” Austin was surprised. “Usually, starting prices are around twenty million. Why is this one
Anders sneered but said nothing.
As Austin wondered if anyone would bid, someone called out: “Fifty–five million!”
The owner smiled.
“Sixty million!” another man shouted.
The owner’s eyebrow twitched.
“Sixty–one million!” Austin bid.
Anders raised an eyebrow at him.
Austin grinned: “Such a beautiful woman–I want to try her out.”
Many others competed, driving Sally’s price up to an astonishing ninety million!
“Ninety million! This gentleman bids ninety million! Any higher bids?” The owner suppressed his excitement, trying to stay calm. “Ninety million, once!”
“Ninety million, twice- the owner called again.
The room was s
silent.
“Ninety million-“just as the owner was about to say “sold,” Anders’s voice cut through: “One hundred million.”
The room fell silent instantly!
