Chapter the Wife 17
Chapter 17 Getting Out of Trouble
Everyone curiously looked in the direction of the voice.
When they saw Gale approaching. Mary’s expression quickly changed,
What is Gale up to now?
Suppressing her displeasure, Mary smiled and asked, “Brother, what did you just say?”
Gale glanced at the aggrieved Sally, then turned to Mary and said, “Sister, the lunch Sally ate earlier was from me. I had it sent to her.”
“What?” Mary was shocked. “You gave it to her?”
Gale silently nodded.
Mary clenched her fists in frustration.
Gale, you idiot!
Why did he have to give Sally that lunch?
Now, her plan was completely disrupted!
Mary was furious inside, but she couldn’t show it.
However, she wasn’t ready to let Sally off the hook just yet.
“Since Gale gave you the lunch, I can’t say anything about that,” Mary said, maintaining a polite tone. Then
she quickly changed her stance, “But that doesn’t prove you didn’t ruin the painting.”
Sally defended herself, “Based on Mia’s words alone, you’re accusing me of ruining Mrs. Anna’s painting.
Is that reasonable?”
Mary wanted to slap Sally!
Since when did this woman get such a sharp tongue?
Mia said indignantly, “It was you who ruined it! I saw it with my own eyes!”
Gale raised an eyebrow at Mia, “Did you see it yourself?
Mia instinctively replied, “Of course.”
The room fell silent.
“Haha…” Gale suddenly laughed, “What good is it if only you saw it? Who can prove you’re telling the truth?”
Mia was left speechless.
Mary inwardly cursed Mia for her stupidity and then looked at Gale with a smile, “Brother, Mia has been my close friend for years. Why would she lie to us?”
Gale looked at Mary, then at Sally, “And what about her? Didn’t she live with you for many years too?”
Mary’s face changed rapidly!
How could it be…
Did Gale already know that Sally was her former sister without blood relation?
Hearing Gale’s words, the crowd felt intrigued.

It seemed they were uncovering some family secrets..
To prevent the situation from getting out of control, Mary forced a couple of awkward laughs and said to the crowd, “I apologize for the unexpected incident during the rehearsal. Due to the damage to the
painting, the event will be postponed..
The gallery’s rehearsal ended abruptly.
After everyone had left, Mary couldn’t hold back any longer. She raised her hand to slap Sally hard!
However, Gale quickly intervened and blocked her!
Mary was stunned that Gale would stand up to her!
“Sister,” Gale said coldly, “this is a public place. Please mind your behavior!”
Mary shot Sally a venomous look and withdrew her hand.
“Consider yourself lucky!” Mary muttered and left with Mia.
Watching the two leave, Gale sighed softly.
“Thank you,” Sally’s voice came from behind him.
Gale turned around and looked down at her.
Sally averted her gaze and said, “Mr. Gale, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go to the changing room.”
As Sally started to walk away, Gale stopped her.
“You’re my sister’s non–blood–related sibling, right?” Gale asked.
Sally m
met his gaze, “Mr. Gale, you already know, so why ask?”
Gale looked into her eyes and suddenly smiled.
Sally felt puzzled.
“No wonder…” Gale said. “I’ve always felt my sister disliked you, and now I see there’s a deep history.”
Sally felt no particular emotion toward Gale’s words.
However, she was curious why Mary, a malicious person, had a brother who seemed decent.
Sally knew she shouldn’t treat Gale the same way she treated Mary, but the harm Mary caused her made
it hard to be kind to Gale.
“Thank you for today,” Sally thanked Gale again. “Consider it a favor I owe you. If you ever need help and I can provide it, I will.”
Sally felt her attitude was sincere enough.
As she prepared to leave, Gale instinctively followed.
“Hey… why don’t we exchange contact information? That way, I can reach you if I need help,” Gale said eagerly.
Sally looked at him and replied, “Mr. Gale, that’s not necessary.”
Gale pretended to be hurt, “You said I could ask for help, but how can I find you without your number? Are you trying to deceive me?”
Sally sighed and took out her phone.
Gale quickly saved her number and even added her on WeChat.

“Hey… you!” Sally was caught off guard, but Gale quickly scanned her WeChat QR code.
“Alright, let’s add each other as WeChat friends. It’ll be easier to contact you,” Gale said cheerfully.
Sally was speechless and walked to the changing room without looking back.
Half an hour later, when Sally came out, she found Gale still waiting in the same spot!
Sally tried to leave quietly, but Gale called out to her.
“Hey! Are you heading home? I can give you a ride,” Gale offered enthusiastically.
Sally didn’t want any further entanglements with Mary’s family.
She replied coolly, “Thank you, Mr. Gale. But I’ll take a cab. Don’t trouble yourself.”
Sally hadn’t seen her son for several days and wanted to visit the hospital before going home.
However, Gale, unfazed by trouble, said, “No problem! I have free time and can drive you!”
Sally tried to refuse, but Gale quickly added, “Sally, I helped you a lot today. If you refuse again, you’d be in the wrong.”
Sally had no choice, “Fine.”
Gale was delighted.
Sally got into his car and said, “To the hospital.”
Gale was surprised but started the car.
“Are you feeling unwell? Why are you going to the hospital?” Gale asked curiously.
Sally said, “It’s not me. My son is sick.”
Hearing that Sally had a son, Gale’s eyes widened!
Sally was pleased with Gale’s reaction
She wasn’t stupid; she had noticed Gale’s interest in her.
But unfortunately, she wasn’t interested in Gale–especially knowing he was Mary’s brother, which only made her dislike him.
