The Wallflower and the Alphas

Chapter 148 " Mr. Brooks?"

Avery P.O.V.

"Miss. Williams, I asked you a question?" Mr. Brooks demands. I should tell him I am not feeling very good and tell him I need to leave. But I don't think he will fall for it-he's different from the other teachers. He is stricter and duller than a teacher. But something about him. It's not right. It's weird he just showed up here a week ago when our gym teacher got up and quit. So, I am standing out in the hallway, trying to calm my nerves. People are not good. They can be sketches. Plus, I'm not too fond of how he's staring at me right now. His stare could kill anybody just looking into his crystal blue eyes.

He is not an older man, but he is in his early twenties with black hair and is tall. He's not a great big guy, but you can tell he can hold his chin up. He could work out a lot. You never know these days. I am staring up and down at Mr. Brooks, and I look up, and my eyes are wide when I see a smirk on his lips. He sees I am checking him out.

But it wasn't like, oh wow, your hot kind of thing. But more like I am going to check you out the types of things. But it's more like I am checking on you out because you're acting weird and sketching. " Oh, hello, Mr. Brooks; I am just going to the bathroom," I told him with a fake smile on my face. I hope he believes me to leave this situation with him right now. I don't want to stand in front of him alone in the dark hallway.

He frightens me, and I don't want to be standing here longer than I have to with him. "Oh, So, why you are walking toward the front of the entrance to the school, Miss. Williams?" He asked me with a confused look on his face. He knows I am lying. So why stop where I am headed? Oh, God. I thought. I am going to be in trouble. I can't get detection. It will go on my record. But, unfortunately, I won't be getting to the dream college I have been dreaming about since I was a little girl. I am trying to keep calm and collect myself. Yeah, he is a creepy guy.

He likes to go around and stare at you. It feels icy when you're looking into his eyes. I feel off and uncomfortable with him in the same space. I felt the air turn ice cold, and the temperature drops extra degrees. It's freaking cold. I felt my wolf and Vela were ready to come out and run and attack this evil, sinister person standing closer to me. How did I miss that he started coming closer, and now he's standing in front of my face? So, I backed up and tried not to show him I was uncomfortable. But, unfortunately, that's not what happened because he kept coming closer. I was looking around my surroundings when I saw Ashely and Natalie walking down the hall coming my way.

So, of course, I gave them a look. That said. "Please save me with my eyes. They saw what I meant by saving me by the look I had in my eyes. "Hey, Avery, "Oh, thank God. I thought. When I heard that, Ashely said. Then, I saw Natalie and Ashely, my best friends. Right now, I am thankful for their rescue. God give me some great people in my life. I thank my parents, brother, Lizabeth, Ashely, and Natalie. By the time I was in my thoughts thanking God, I was not hurt, and I had to be standing here not much longer with the man that freaks me out.

"Hey, Ash and Nat," I called out to them. I step around Mr. Brooks. He didn't like that I was leaving and walking towards my friends. So, I will see Mr. Brooks standing there with an annoyed expression on his face. I don't care if I was being rude. I am just glad I am getting away from him. There you are?" I heard Ashely say and pulled me into a hug. She had a fake smile on her face. So that when she bent down in my ear and whispered, only I and her knowledge. " Okay, don't talk; just listen." She tells me. But by the time she said that. Mr. Brooks was acting funny, angry that I was not near him. What was up with that? So, out of nowhere. He told us.

" You girls need to get to class," Besides, it's not safe for little girls running around in the dark and quiet hallways alone," he told us, giving us a crazy look in his eyes and a smug smile on his face. He turned and started walking away. But then he stopped, and I saw him turn his face towards me. " Miss. Williams, we will talk later," he tells me with an expression on his face saying. You're not going to get away from me next time that easy. We watched him walk and disappear around the corner. When I let out a breath, I was holding the whole time in his presence. Oh, okay, that was weird," I heard Ashely say.

Yeah, it was. I didn't know it was coming? she told us. Because usually, she can see if something is going to happen. But this time, she didn't know the future. Sometimes I don't want to hear about the future; it scares me to know what will come in my life. So, I hope to God she doesn't tell me.

But today, I wish she would have said to me because of whatever Ashely said. She didn't say any more about it. "Oh, yeah Ashely said. Now I remember why I was looking for you." I was staring at her with an expression saying, oh, okay, what's going on? Look. So, I opened up my mouth and spoke. " What's going on?" I ask her and Nat. " Yeah, we were just in swim class, and Mr. Brooks told us class was cutting short today." So, we were all excited, and we knew you weren't class because you hate swimming." Ashely said, not taking a breath.

"Now, we wanted to look for you to see if you wanted to go to the mall and buy our homecoming dress," Natalie said. I nodded my head, and we started walking. Then suddenly, I stopped, and Ashely and Natalie turned and looked at me with what was wrong. Wait a minute, if they said the swim teacher let them out early, then who was standing in the hallway just talking to me? I shivered because I felt the cold chills run up my spine.

Because the person looked like Mr. Brooks, but there was no way because Mr. Brooks Ashely and Natalie said they were in a swim class. After the scary incident with Mr. Brooks, the swim teacher wasn't just an hour ago. We are now at the mall, and I have been shopping with the girls for about two hours now. I am exhausted from walking and pulling dresses off the rack. But after thirty minutes, we went into this beautiful dress store. I was sad because I could not find the perfect dress for the dance for tomorrow night. But once I walked inside this store.

I looked around, stopped, and stared at this beautiful midnight blue two-piece heart shape backless dress. It wasn't slutty but elegant and beautiful. I walked over, and I saw it. They were beautiful before the other dresses, but they were too skimping, tight, or significant once I tried them on.

I didn't look right in it. Ashely and Natalie found their dress fast, and they tried it on. It fit them, and then they found shoes to match their dress. So, now I am standing here staring at this beautiful blue dress. I am in my thought. I hope to fit this dress. So, after a couple of minutes, I finally fought with myself about not grabbing my perfect dress. So, I huffed, grabbed it off the rack, walked back into the back room, and entered the dressing room. I started trying on this perfect dress. After I got the last dress piece on, I turned around and gasped at what I said. The dress fit like a glove.

I loved it.

The dress glowed like a blue diamond. Once I see how the dress looks on me. I took it off and decided that this dress was perfect for the homecoming dance tomorrow night. So I thought with a smile on my face. I am not felt this happy for a while now. I got redressed and went to the next store to find shoes. After getting my things for the dance, we all started getting hungry. Oh, what you got there, Ashely?

I asked her when I was pulling up my salad fork in my mouth. This sushi, you know, cooked or raw fish rolled in seaweed and rice." She said, using her chopsticks, picking up the roll, and putting it in her mouth. Yuck! Natalie said, giving a stinky face. I started giggling under my hand. I was trying to hold it in. " Now, how would you know it is yucky if you never try it, Nat?" Ashely said with a laugh. Natalie stared with a cautious eye.

I was getting tired after we shopped and ate at the food court. After Ashely and Natalie dropped me back off at my car at the school parking lot. They waited around before I started my car. That was when they left. Once I started my car and pulled out of the school parking lot. I started driving home. I walked into my house, which was still dark and quiet again. I am alone again. I shook my head and let out a sigh.

My parents and my brother went again. Oh my, it's been a lot lately. I miss them. Well, once they get home. I'll see them later in the morning. But first, I am going into the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of water. Once I got my bottle of water and a little cookie. Then, I started climbing the stairs and I walked up. I am going to my bedroom because I am tired and have homework to finish. After I walked inside my room, I started on my homework. Thank God," I said out loud.

Then, I set it aside and climbed into bed so that my last math question was done. I didn't care; I had the day clothes on. So, I am just going to sleep in. That is what I did. I fell asleep. I was tired because I fell asleep fast. I wake up with cold sweats and look around in my room. I thought I saw someone in my room. But when I was looking around my room. I didn't see anything out of the orderly. So, I laid back down, shut my eyes, and fell asleep.
