Chapter 116 " Back to same old same old?"
One week later...
Avery P.O.V.
"Avery! Wait up." I was walking into my last class of the day. That's when Ashely's voice behind me stopped me. I am not paying attention to anything but thinking back that day in the hallway, with Elijah staring at me with so much tense expression, and I wanted him to come grabs me, hug me, and kiss me.
But he didn't stop, turned away, took off around the corner, and disappeared. Ever since that day, I have not really seen him and the guys. I thought they were around me, but they started ignoring me.
So, now I go to school and see my mates, but they don't act like I exist around them. And they have the girls surrounding them again, and they have been talking and laughing with the groupies they have again.
So, I walk past them like they don't exist, either. Well, if they want to act like this. I can act right back, thinking they're nothing to me. But I can't fake it around my friends. They can see right through me. So, only they know how I really feel.
That is empty and depressing. I miss them; I miss them so much. I miss their touch and lips. I miss them telling me I am the most beautiful girl they have seen. I miss the way they make me laugh.
I miss them, period!
I sighed and didn't want to stop walking. But I did. It had been like this for a week when I saw them. So, I am getting used to it now. I rolled my eyes and sighed every time I saw them simultaneously for a week out by their lockers. Well, you want to know how I know? Well, I tell you.
My locker is down three from theirs. I have to walk past them to get to it.
But now I have to walk down there with the guys surrounded by the bimbo's groupie they are fucking or whatever they are doing with them.
So, I started walking closer to where I needed to be.
I hate to get through when people surround the six horsemen, and four of them are my mates, which breaks my heart watching them with other girls.
So, when I am walking past them, I hear laughing, calling out, and making fun of me over again. But the guys are the ones not doing it. It's the bitches!
"Hey, Nerd! Did you really think they wanted you?" I heard one of the girls with Elijah say with a laugh, and then she started kissing down his face and grabbed his face. She slams her lips down on his.
I heard her friends joining her, and they started laughing and grabbing hold of the guys and started kissing them too.
"Oh, my God, Amelia, she did." I heard her goonies say then they all started laughing at me.
Why me? I made a stop because they would not get out of my way.
Move! Please," I asked them with a broken voice. They knew I was hurt and about to cry.
I didn't want them to see my broken expression and the pain on my face. So, I wanted to tell the bitches to get off my mate. But I was so shocked and speechless that I didn't say or do anything. I just stand there looking at them. I saw Elijah's face.
He didn't look like he cared to be around them or me. Then I saw his eyes. They were telling me. What! Do you really think I wanted you? But I didn't want to see that. Maybe I am imagining it. But then he dropped his tense stare and gave me a sad expression: I am sorry, princess.
But then it was gone, and the smirk and tense stare with back in his face.
Then I looked over at Jake, but he couldn't look at me. He never turns his eye on me. He was too busy kissing down the girl's neck to even look into my eyes. I wanted to see his eyes. He was the one I didn't think would hurt me. But I was wrong.
So, I didn't stare at him anymore, and I turned my eyes to Matthew; he was looking over at me with a smug look on his face, and the girl on his lap was grinning and kissing his lips with his eyes on me. I didn't care if he saw the hurt and broken in my eyes. That is when he stopped kissing her and touching her. I had tears clouding my eyes.
I can feel them going to rain down, but I hold them back. I told myself I wouldn't cry for them. I switched my eyes and saw Andrew standing in the locker like the other guys.
I saw he was the closest to me, but he was busy with the girl in the locker with her legs wrapped around his waist. He didn't look at me. His back was towards me. But I knew this had to be a joke or something. Don't they feel how I am hurting and dying inside?
But I could not watch anymore, and I started running away.
"Mine!" I heard Angelstar and Angelica growl inside my mind.
"Get them bitches off our mates!" Angelstar was ready to tear them bitched apart. She was going to come out. And there is nothing I can do about it.
Shh, girls, no! It's not me probably anymore." The big boys! If they want them, girls, let them." I am done with their playing games." I told them with confidence in my voice. But I know it is fake. I am hurt; they have broken my heart again. I am so tired of always being nothing to them.
I started fuming, and I growled under my breath. But on the one hand, I wanted to attack the girls who were all over my mates. I can see they are doing it on purpose, but that is when I calm down and tell myself I don't care anymore.
But why doesn't it hurt so bad? If you don't care, Avery! My mind told me, or Angelstar and Angelica say.
Just one week ago, they were loving and friendly toward me, and now they let people bully me and make out with the girls that hate my guts. That they always treated me like crap and hurt me.
It stopped with the pain and hitting when the girls would hurt me. But not the name-calling. The guys stop them from hitting me but not the name-calling.
"Hey, Loser, it's nothing personal, but they never wanted you." I heard the girl was all over Matthew.
"Hey! Avery, waits up!" I didn't want to stop once I got to my locker, grabbed my things, and went home.
Once I got to my locker, I felt someone behind me. I looked behind me when I saw Ashely.
Hey, did you hear me?" I heard her behind me, and she grabbed hold of my shoulder.
I turned around, and I saw her face; it was bruised and red. I knew she had been acting strange, but I didn't know she had bruises all over her face; I needed to ask her later about that. But first, she was in front of me with a concerned look on her face. Right now, she hears for me.
"Hey! Don't listen to them; they nothing." You want me to go back there and beat them up!" I heard Ashely say loud enough they could hear her; I looked at her hand, making a pounding into her fist. I wanted to say yeah, go for it. But I didn't. I just shook my head no!
"No, Ashely, it's not worth it," I tell her, staring at the guys, but they are staring at me now.
I looked away, and she grabbed me and let me cry in her arms, with a silent cry. So, they didn't hear me cry.
